As Andrew Caskie Nicholsons managing director explained. 60% of the organ is the existing pipework & 40% of it will have some new pipe work added along with new mechanisms etc.

The question is, how can windows which are much simpler than organs cost £1 million pounds and a full size Organ £1.8 million? Are we saying the cost of making windows is more than the cost of building half an organ? Windows are cheap. Its just frames and glass. £100,000 for the windows would have been expensive.

The windows are double glazed and some are curved at the top so that all adds to the expense. Also installation is tricky and takes care and time so that all adds to the cost of them.
