really doing the lord’s work man. i just started farming and this week have been living with the guilt of having lost a goat just due to not knowing what to do with the signs the goat gave me. i struggled cramming last minute trying to get any education i could. but it was too late. bottle jaw, white behind the lids, and all i did was deworm him way too late and sit there as his body went limp. your videos have been helping me regain my confidence to take care of the rest of my herd.
okay…normally I hate people anxious to spend my money. I’m old fashion that way. But with lambing coming on I look at your list and realize that I’m slightly underprepared. So for the first, historic, time……(drum roll)….a UA-camr has opened my wallet and actively spent almost $500 within the time span of three videos. Congratulations…you got me…or rather..you may have helped my sheep in the coming lambing season.
So we used to use Bluecoat on the the dairy farm for minor scrapes ect in the pens. A few years ago (about the time I quit working there) the USDA (or some government agency) said farmers couldn't use these kind of spray treatments for animals intended for consumption. Now I'm raising sheep so are the sprays your recommending on the list of things I can't use on meet animals? Thank you for your video's
This is a great question. Blu-Kote is an antiseptic spray that is commonly used to treat skin infections in animals. It contains the active ingredient gentian violet, which is a dye that can discolor the skin and hair of treated animals. However, it is not approved for use on animals that will be used for food production because it can leave a residue on the animal's skin and hair that can be transferred to the meat. This can result in discoloration and an off-flavor in the meat, making it unappealing to consumers. Additionally, the FDA does not approve the use of gentian violet on animals intended for human consumption.

Hello, Jackie. Thanks for watching our video and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. It seems like different areas of the world have different worm resistance. In our area, cydectin has been abused so badly we can’t use it at all. People started using the cattle pour on wormer as an oral drench for sheep and it basically ruined it for us. We have really shifted gears over the past few years when it comes to working and I have included a video for you to check out that shows how we now perform our worming. ua-cam.com/video/6FCBYB0x50w/v-deo.html Thanks! Tim

Linessa Farms, LLC thank you!
I am surprised that he uses Dectomax instead of Cydectin as his must have wormer. I have found that my goats have a tolerance for Dectomax.
