In your first look, you do what we used to do for theater with the separated wing technique and for the same reason, to make the eyes look more open and bright. We used black for the top and bottom lash line and bright white between the lines. I haven’t seen anyone else use your technique for an IRL look. It’s beautiful. And all of the looks are beautiful.

Yay I’ve been waiting for this video! I bought this palette shortly after it came out even though I’m usually not a fan of large palettes. It was just so pretty I couldn’t resist and I’ve been loving it! I picked up it’s a mood too when I realized the megas aren’t as bulky as I imagined them to be. I love all three looks you did here, especially all of those crystals! 😍
Loved your comparison with the ND Retro palette!! since I saw this palette, I thought they were very similar! and until now I hadn't seen any comparisons! and the metallics are so pretty!! My favorite makeup look was second but really loved all the hair and the crystals on the eyes of look 3!! Looks fantastic!!

This is the review I needed! I have fine feathered and making mauves but I think this is going to be my favourite of all time. Once I purchase it will make me declutter some of the extra pallettes I have which don't work as well for me.

Personally, I would pass on this mega palette bc of the top 2 rows - more so bc of the mattes. As versatile as this palette is based on your shade comparisons, it doesn't look very melanin person friendly. I'm light medium (smack in between NC25 and NC30) and the mattes in the first 2 rows will most probably look like baby powder on my eyes regardless of the shade used. I would be interested to see this palette compared to By The Rosé collection

Really like the color story, but there's just this nagging feeling like it's missing that oomph! Especially the shimmers, would like to see at least one or two duochrome or something special. Still, I really need a neutral/rose palette and the price is nice :3 all I have are wacky bright colors

Does the formula of the shadows in Smoke n Roses better than the formula in Blush Crush? I have Making mauves and wanted to buy Blush crush, but your video made me think what palette should I choose
I haven't been buying as much from colourpop the last year or so for the same reason as many -- I feel like the constant releases and lack of stocking of old, popular products led them to repetitive color palettes and decline in quality. However I was intrigued by this color story when I saw it online and went ahead and purchased it. I do love the color story but I have to say the shimmers are SO disappointing. They all look the same on the eye and they aren't metallic at all to me- they're more like satins, which is fine for some of them, but I would have appreciated some variety (some satiny shimmers, some metallic shimmers, some of that sheer super shock-type formula, etc). Even the mattes in this pallete are underwhelming -- most are smooth but some are super patchy on me and I never had this issue with colourpop shadows back 2+ years. I think this will be my last colourpop purchase for a while unless they start to focus more on quality and listening to customers' feedback because it has truly gone downhill. All of that said this is a pretty palette and I will use it but it's unfortunate that I have to mix in eyeshadows from other brands when using such a large pallete that should have everything.
