How do you catch these on rod and reel? We have them in america but they never seem to bite on baits. Is there a specific bait or rig you use for bighead carp?
It is ARAKAWA river in Saitama prefecture in Japan. We don't need licese to fish it. This fish is called RENGYO in Japan and difference with Koi. Smell strong so nobody want to chatch it, hahaha

Actually wide gape shiner hooks provides better hook ups for this kind of carp.. I prefer to use gamakatsu shiner hook se 2/0,3/0 at size.. It provides better hook ups.. The rig is a spring type method feeder.. The leader is 25 lb mono or 40 lb braid,the length is about three to four inches
