Thank you for watching with us and for your comment.
I am a first gereation mexican american , born and raised in the bronx new york , now living in East TN. The fact that in a world so divided some grandparents from Tennessee are listening and sharing the music I grew up on is amazing to me. I appreciate yall so much for that. Our local church choir sang this song at my brothers funeral and now this song means the world to me. Eternal Love!
This performance of this song was beautiful, and your story and words are beautiful to us. Thank you so much!
Rocío Durcal, one of the most influential hispanic singers of all time. Started as a teen movie star in Spain back in the 60s, widely popular in Spain and Latinoamérica. Once she became and adult mid 70s she went to Mexico and got the opportunity to record a Mexican music album and it turned out to be a smashing hit that make her much more successful until she passed away. She sang about every musical genre. She had dozens of hits. She was quite versatile.
Thank you for watching and for sharing all this important information.
We shall not forget about her daughter Sheila Dúcal
The song was written by Gabriel for his mother that passed. Then he gave it to Rocio Durcal as a tribute to her son that died from an accident in Acapulco. Both artists sing the song with passion and grief. Makes me want to cry every time I hear it.
Yes, we have heard both of them. So good and touches the heart.
this was the reason the internet was made for. cheers
We agree. It is amazing what we can experience on the internet.
Rest in Peace Rocio Durcal. May you sing among the angels now.
Thank you for watching with us
Rocio Durcal is so loved and respected in Mexico. We're not entitled to our culture. It's for everyone, hence our international Mexicans we adopt as our own. Being mexican is in the heart. Where you get to embrace the culture, traditions, and land. Rocio Durcal was Spaniard but a true Mexican at heart.
That is so beautiful.
You cannot not cry with this song always makes me cry 😭
We have learned so much from our viewers about this song, after we posted our reaction. Such a bittersweet and beautiful song.
Era española, nacio, vivio y murio en España. Vivio muchas temporadas en Méjico y amo a ese pais y su musica. Sus cenizas están repartidas entre México y España

You guys DON'T KNOW WHAT you are missing by not knowing the lyrics, if you don't cry that mean you have never lost a love one. 😢

Rocio Durcal is actually from Spain. Shw was a young actor/singer. Her career was fading when mexican singwr/composer Juan Gabriel helped resurrect her career. Juan Gabriel wrote the lyrics to this song in 45 minutes upon hearing the death of his mother while he was on his way to a concert in Acapulco, Mexico ... Where his mother was supposed to meet him to watch him perform live for the very first time but she passed away. Juan Gabriel and gis mother had recently reconnected after many years of absence as she abandoned him in an orphanage when he was 5 yo. He went through so much prior to becoming famous. That is why these lyrics are so potent
Thank you so much for sharing this sad, but important, information.
Here is a video of Juan Gabriel singing Amor Eterno ua-cam.com/video/RgKqxLAhRKE/v-deo.htmlsi=k3Bxi_0N5qbzzUjj
Here is another beautiful song/performance by Juan Gabriel called "hasta que te conoci" or "until I met you" ua-cam.com/video/ga5Bo4YdgH4/v-deo.htmlsi=eLO1eRwx3N_GnjtI
Another interesting fact, this song especially sung by Rocio Durcal played or performed by mariachis is commonly used at funerals especially when a mother passed away.
Thank you for this suggestion. We have already reacted to his video. Here is a link to our reaction: ua-cam.com/video/IPwRi4kSdY4/v-deo.html
Man I cant listen to this song without shedding a tear it just breaks me up but its so beautiful thank you for sharing giving you a shout from CA
Thank you so much for watching
that song was made for her by "Juan Gabriel", when she lost her son in a tragic boat accident in Mexico.. it's about eternal love from a mother to her son in this case.
Thank you for watching and for sharing this information
I'm mexican american and my parents loved her so much Rocio Durcal was Spanish/Mexican icon. rest in peace... Her daughter is also a singer Sheila looks just like her mom. Look her up.
Thank you for watching with us and for sharing this information.
She is from Spain, Europe, but living for long time in Mexico
Thank you so much for this information,
Rocio said after singing this song you have to be a masochist to even sing it. It's a song of deep heart ripping ache about your mother you lost. She's wonderful but Juan Gabriel when he sings it does so with such power and gravitas that you can't help but cry since. It was so powerful it became an anthem for funerals for mothers that passed.
Thank you for sharing this very important information
That was my moms favorite song she’s in heaven now 😢I’m from East Los Angeles California
So sorry for your loss. Today is my mother's birthday. We passed away a couple of years ago. This is a beautiful song.
@@grandparentsreact thank you and sorry for your loss every time I hear that song it reminds me of my mom and I get teary eyed
That part of the video shows only a picture of her face as a memorial to her. This was one of my mothers favorite songs and I get a flood of memories when I hear it. I love You mom, te extraño para siempre y te amo 💝💔❤️🩹 #Fuckcancer
Thank you for watching and commenting.
It would been an honor to attend to one of her concerts 😢
She was so talented. Thank you for watching.
I was in 2 of her concerts here in Panamá
Rocio Durcal is connected with this song because her son died when he was young in Acapulco. The ending lyrics of the song talk about Acapulco. So I think that is why she performed this song so well.
So sad, but so beautifully done. Thank you for sharing this information with us.
No, ella tiene 3 hijos y están vivos. Viven en Madrid.
That's not true. His son and her daughters are alive.
Sne is from Spain but she got success in mexico with county music called "ranchera",👍

She made it even more sad as her son had recently drowned and passed away at that time, thats why she cries during this song a lot. This song is played at most funerals just to let you know. great videos!
Thank you for sharing this information with us and for the encouragement.
Her son didn't die. He is alive and her sisters are also alive. I don't know who invented that fake information but it's not true.
Well its a sad song specially for her since her daughter died in Acapulco in the beach, and the son is actually saying how sad is loosing soeoe who died, and cant be dedicated to anyone who pastaway
Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
She was Spanish but lived in Mexico and sang ballads and rancheras. She died in 2006. I recommend more songs by her "like your woman, customs, the cat in the rain, I love you, and many more

@@marcelpous9504She was buried partially in Mexico, I’d say she was Mexican by the end.

@grandparentsreact nope... Juan Gabriel composed this song for his mom after she passed in 1974, he had a very sad relationship with her. But Rocio Durcal made it famous with that angelical beautiful voice.

@@GooseYear Thank you so much for sharing all this information.
That’s a myth.. she only had one son and he’s alive
That’s not what happened. JuanGa was on tour and when he was in Acapulco he heard the news of his mother’s passing.
Her daughter drowned in Acapulco bc she became a big sensation in Mexico and was traveling often. Acapulco is known to have a deadly undertow. She’s crying bc it is a tribute to her daughter.
Wow, that is so very sad, but important information. Thank you for sharing that with us.
@@grandparentsreact she never got over it, it slowed her career down and she blamed herself and it caused strain within her family. It impacted her career for a long time too. It was tragic. She has another daughter that later tried being a Spanish pop star named Shaila Durcal, she also covers it.
@@nlivlavie3108 Thank you for sharing this information. Very sad.
