Hi, IzAw I’m a smash coach too and some things I’ve noticed about your teachings is that you do a really good job of teaching the concepts, way of thinking and appropriate solutions. One thing I wish you showed more is the student actually applying the taught lessons in actual gameplay speed.
Every student is different too, I know that Mr. E can apply this without handholding, and he did in just a few hours, so we really didn’t need to spend much time on that
This was a great session, bc of this Mr. E was able to beat Tweek weeks after! Please get a lesson from this man IzAw, he's very professional at what he does!
I feel like this is the issue I had for the longest. I’d play overly patient and if my opponent was constantly bursting me where I wouldn’t expect then the pace of the match would be in their hands and I’d do myself a disservice.
This is so crazy…I knew what burst range was, but for some reason I always thought I could only use my burst options. I play sora so I always thought my grounded tools were too committal to use properly in the burst range but then I started doing dash down tilt like you mentioned with Lucina and it auto spaced. And was also able to hit confirm up tilt or nair off of it as well. And using dash in dash back down tilt or firaga as well and it did wonders for me in bracket last night! I guess I just needed to hear and see it out loud for it to click 😂 god like content man I always get excited to see your videos!!
Took me years to learn these on my own but i could never quite put into words what i was doing this definitely helps me to remember what i need to do to win i hope mr. E gets a 1st place on a big stage preferably with marth but we'll have to wait an see
Man this video was freaking awesome man! Super helpful for a mid level player like me! Love that you used Roy as well, since he’s my main. Everything was super easy to grasp and understand, can’t wait to apply this to my game!
This is amazing, i saw this live! I think something I struggle with is an opponent dropping shield at the auto-parry timing. What are ways i can play around this without a risky committal?
Great video as always Isaw. This is something I always try to implement. A persistent question I never fully have answered tho, is with all the retreating it takes to maintain safe burst range pressure, how you do you consistently avoid accidentally cornering yourself if your opponent manages to safely advance?
For Mario, his burst range would effectively be shorter and coupled with his average dash speed it may or may not work depending on the character. However, given that Mario can double up on bairs, you may pressure in that way instead of dash back. But that's just my thoughts, I could be missing a lot of context. Hope this helps

Thanks, this is an edit where I didn’t include that part, he was in a rush to leave too

Multihits, Smash attack since they are slower etc. basically try another attack
He said it in the video, landing into a safe tilt would be your best to mix up the timing

You shield instead of dashing, or mix up something else instead of dash, cant be dashing away all the time
Does burst range backair dash-back work for a character like mario who doesn't have such a long disjoint?

Yes, he has good enough airdrift to short hop in from burst range for back air, and he can dash away too after landing Bair
I struggle to apply this to Aegis. Cause I feel like I’m always too close to my opponent or too far away. What’s the best way to apply this for Aegis?
