I lived outside Godalming not far from Guildford for 13 years and grew up there. It's been 20 years now since i moved away to Scotland and I've never been back ever since i left, but part of me yearns to see Guildford again. I'd spend most of my weekends there going to the Odeon, or walking the high street shopping inevitably popping into Games Workshop lol. All the memories are rushing back to me watching this. It hasn't actually changed much over the years. Thank you for posting this.
Hello there Snake, a pleasure to hear from you. It certainly makes it worthwhile to share these lovely places around and to know they can bring back happy memories. Thanks so much for dropping by and connecting, it's appreciated in return.
I was there last week. My daughther lives in Woking and we use to go Guilford to do shopping. The high street is very nice , and there are several nice places to eat and shopping.
We hope you enjoy this town centre walking tour in Guildford, Surrey, UK. It's home to one of the UK's top universities and is often ranked in the top 10 places to live in the UK. Soak up the independent shops and historic buildings...
Lovely walking tour of parts of Guildford, it's close to my home town and great for walking around, eating out or shopping. There are also some good venues supporting local (and not so local) bands and a lively club with DJ's playing non commercial club music. It's a lively and thriving place.
Yes, it's great to see them being kept on our highstreets. In Glasgow, they've also been using the old 'Doctor Who' style police boxes as coffee shops too!
Hello there G, we do feel honoured to have brought those memories back to you as you walk with us albeit virtually. I hope someday you'll be back to visit for real. Thanks for dropping by.
Wow the streets are really clean and well-maintained in Guildford. That's a lovely castle grounds area at 7:48. I don't recognize all the shop name brands, very interesting and new for me. Wow the Three Pigeons. like 47
Morning LL, yes we'd have loved to have had time for a wee drappy in the 3 Pigeons, looked cozy. All the best to you mate and thanks for staying in contact.
Morning Shaniqua, interesting to see the roots of the town in British Columbia. It's funny that settlers kept the names wholesale, I guess it made them feel more 'at home'. I understand that in 1879 it was named Surrey by one of the founders, the Englishman H J Brewer, who believed this Surrey was much like Surrey, England at that time. Thanks for dropping by.
Thanks for visiting TT and for sharing the lovely vibrant Istanbul with us too. We'll be visiting turkey in a few weeks and this has really got us in the mood.
You must have done this walk quite recently. I haven't been to Guildford in over a year and many of the shops have changed ownership. I so miss Laura Ashley and Cath Kidston! Many thanks for a great quality video
Hello there Carol, yes it's a fairly recent video. Happy to hear you enjoyed it. I do have a few more of the area you might like. Pleased to know they are being enjoyed. Thanks for taking the time to drop by.
@@LivingWalks Of course 😜😜😜. My videos are not as stylish as yours are. I think that it is a magnificent place to film and I am so glad that today was sunny 🌞🌞🌞.
I know Britain's Got Talent has called people from Surrey posh, but honestly Surrey just looks like Princeton, NJ. Rich people living in overpriced housing, and all the restaurants are overpriced too.

Glad you enjoyed it friend and thanks for the feedback re' the captions.
Something I noticed in your Hampstead video as well - UK red phone boxes being repurposed as 'Coffee Shops' - great idea!
Yes, it's great to see them being kept on our highstreets. In Glasgow, they've also been using the old 'Doctor Who' style police boxes as coffee shops too!
Such a charming video.

There’s a Guildford, Surrey here in British Columbia, Canada too. If only it was as beautiful as the OG Guildford, Surrey in England

Is there any place for walking with my dog?
We don't live there Miyoung but I'm sure there must be plenty of lovely walks in the near by countryside.

The Surrey in British Columbia does not look like this at all ... it's actually quite poor here .. Your Surrey is way nicer .. wanna trade ?
Oh is that so ST, well what can I say, hope you're happy in British Columbia on balance, I guess you have the weather. All the best to you.
seeing this makes me feel so sad about my own town of oldham which is a third world country compared to this
I understand what you're saying Brendan, through making these films we certainly notice the polarity.
Happy to hear you're fine Uk.
it's over.
