figure i can give some pointers. many things went wrong this game, not just you as the cv but the team throwing their hp away and stalling for too long. first of all, malta is the type of cv that requires knowledge on the best angles to drop the bombs and best targets to drop them on. now after her nerf, this becomes even more important because a dead drop with no damage is hurtful for the malta. its even more pronounced when facing a cv like the mvr who excels in dealing unhealable damage every strike. the matchup is a race against time. dropping the riga and des moines near the end with little to no damage was one instance of this where you couldve waited for TB to return to the cv and just drop the yamato with the bombs instead for the 15k drop. using bombs on heavy cruisers is imo a waste of time and better off used on light cruisers and battleships with the slow down tech. youre using tbs well, although sometimes releasing the bombs way too close to the target. give some space from the target just in case they do turn into the torps. leaving the kleber alone after striking him a few time with rockets was also an issue. notice how he got top of the scoreboard. his spotting/torpedo threat and potential gun firing couldve made them win the game. the part where you were trying to kill the conq was also something to take note of. notice how he got the heal back up very quickly? hes most likely running the 2pt aa skill that brings the consumable cooldown back much faster when aa is firing. this means that you have to kill him with as little strikes as possible or else he will just heal back up. if you look closely at your strikes + your bungo hp on the top, the conq fires a few times with the DM and Yamato on the bungo and the conq ends up killing the bungo. if the conq died sooner, potentially save the bungo and he can kill the dm that's bow into him. too many factors in world of warship matches to really say what went wrong but yeah hope it helps
From a non-cv player. You let yourself get spotted several times for no reason, you ate a lot of damage you didn't need to. After missing the torpedo drop on the DM you probably should have let the St Louis deal with the DM and help the Halland with the Kleber. This would have let the Halland be closer to the two BBs instead of being near the map border once the Kleber died. I don't know if either of those two things would have changed much though.
@@itsReiWoWS @Yowomboo thank you very much! I didn't know the AP bombers would hit that hard on a battleship. I figured they were always meant more for cruisers.
To your point of: If planes enter your AA range as a DD, you should turn your AA on. It depends, most DDs have an air concealment 3 km and below. Such a range is too small for most CVs to start an attack run, lead enough, and get the attack off. So, turning on your AA before you're spotted can be detrimental.
My highest damage game was on a team like this one. I did over 300k damage in my Shima and we lost on points but we had more ships. Cap circles make a huge difference.
Richtofen should have been your focus. Let your team deal with the other ships.... they cant deal with enemy CV, and neither can you. AP rockets destroy you, AP bombers too. Focus CV, get him off the playing board: Gives your team a TON of breathing room and effective concealment. CV present = Concealment points wasted on teammates' captain builds. Best thinga CV can do is get rid of enemy CV, then focus on spotting destroyers and getting ride of MVPs, overmatch, and radar cruisers.
You really think so? It takes forever for a CV to sink another CV. You have to do so many strikes and if you don't actually sink her you don't gain anything. It might've been possible, I'm just wondering if it would've been worthwhile.
@@Aerroon Ive seen it done more often now, watching CV matches on UA-cam. Sadly most teams are so potato, IDK if it helps - ive seen CV less teams dominate against a team of potatoes and one good CV player. In your case, I think you could have killed the CV, with those massive torps drops.
What do you think I did wrong in this game? I think some kind of better target prioritization would've maybe helped.

Nice to see our clanmate Hespi doing a good job in his Yamato.
Nice! It was very well done by him. I think without him their team could've easily lost this match.

Yeah, but once they're already in that range you should turn it on!
@@Aerroon Yes, of course-If you're already spotted, there is no reason to not activate your AA. Even in DDs with low AA rating.
12:20 Unfortunately, Malta's bombers are good against big battleships (get hit with more bombs) and light cruisers (get citadeled by the bombs).
Yup! I've definitely figured that out by now.
Great timing today good Sir. I'm at work and taking break and going to watch. Thanks Mr Aerroon.
Nice! I hope you enjoy.
I want to try to release future videos at around this time too.
I've always wondered what those antennas are for.
Apparently they are cranes to help with overboard stuff.
@@Aerroon They are safety nets, if the planes took off / landed poorly the steel chain safety nets caught any planes that went astray :)

It does make a difference. Usually you can farm a lot more damage on a barely losing game like this.

@@Omaba_Baba Hmm. You might be right. It would've definitely helped, especially once I realized that MVR was so close.
Your team lost because Halland didn't do his job.
Why didn't he attack the enemy CV and the two BBs?
It's a good question. I suspect part of the problem was the two radar cruisers - the Riga and the Des Moines.
