I absolutely love this! I’ve been a subscriber to Tom Scott for as long as I can remember. His topics he covers seem niche, but they are all 100% what I’m interested in. When a UA-camr I’ve been following for a while goes mainstream it’s usually a bitter sweet moment, great that they are receiving attention and growing, but also a little bit sad as it feels their community get so big to a point that even as an original subscriber you seem to be drowned out by the masses. But for Tom Scott I couldn’t be more proud of his content, they way he goes about doing things and the topics he covers truly is inspirational. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t at least want to try and become a UA-camr after watching one of his videos. They’re all just so bingeworthy, factually correct, the perfect length of time, and not full of bloat to increase watch time or view duration. This is by far one of my most favourite waveform podcast episodes! Please keep doing interviews with other UA-camrs
I’ve been subscribed since the days of the Emoji Keyboard, and it’s been a joy to see his channel grow so much (400k to 5M).
At this point, Tom can make a video about pretty much anything (including toasters, microwaves, or fish) and I trust that it will be interesting enough to be worth my time. I also felt much the same way about Coast.
He makes stuff he finds interesting, and because he does it in an interesting way we're all into it. He comes across as a friend telling you about a cool thing they just did, and it's totally engaging.
Tom builds a whole new level of intellect to whichever conversation he's in.
03:10 That is exactly how I feel about Tom's Channel. I have some favorite topics that I love, but I'll watch most other content as well because it is doe so well and every so often I get surprised by a video that covers something that just *gets* interesting for me, after Tom worked on it. :)

Tom is great at bodging. They'll probably be able to make the car work for one day of filming and that's it without further intervention

Can you dial back the poorly-tuned noise reduction pretty please?
The voices are just so harsh. I am using reference monitors just as a note. Also: btw it's the gate that really gives it away, sometimes an entire syllable is removed if you look at the mouth, but I was wondering all along why Tom's voice is unpleasantly tinny, considering that's an SM7, right? (but the vastly superior RE20 for Marques : ) )
You should add links to the full podcast. Finding it would be so much easier then.
Tom, I like your long form videos. I loathe the short form that YT has copied from TT. I skip shorts even on channels I love.
In the same way Tom said the things he watched in the 1990s influence his videos, my videos are based on what I watch. Shows like NOVA--long, documentary-style productions with full intros and credits and people either narrating or hosting them--are things I watch, so that style makes it in my videos. Those types of videos seem to be increasing in popularity these days with channels such as LEMiNO, BobbyBrocoli, Folding Ideas, etc., which is great to see!

Tomorrow’s world was the one I was thinking of, but Tom is clearly broader than that.
Isn’t coast still going? At least in reruns/re-edits?
Please don’t put shorts on your main channel. It just clutters go your video page when I’m trying to find something since so many shorts gets posted
