Totally agree with your recommended practical firearms to have. When David bought his .22 pistol about 8 yrs ago, he went with the Browning Buckmark because the Ruger is so much more difficult to take apart as you mentioned. The Ruger is awesome too. See you on the next one.
Can get rid of the mag safety and the chamber indicator and make the Mark III so much better. With the Mark IV it would have been great if everyone was selling the older Marks with fireside sales. Wonder why that hasn't happened? Love the Mark III Hunter with the 5.5" barrel. Once you know how to do it, it isn't hard to take-down the Mark pistols.
you did a good job. i've been watching ruger mark 4 and 3 videos all summer waiting to close on some land from my moms family farm. just closed last week and bought the mk 3 standard. i'll prob share your videoout out of them all when telling my friends and family about it. like i said. you did a good job.
Thanks for the video! I was wondering what the diffs were between the Mk II and Mk III. I appreciate the explanations and especially the tip about not taking them apart!
I installed a Majestic Arms "Speed strip kit" on my MkI www.majesticarms.com/id10.html The Ruger target pistol has always been difficult to take down, and this solved the problem. The only other "upgrade" I've done to this in the 35 years since I bought it was to install modern fiber optic "Firesights".
No longer "approved" for California, driving the off-roster private party prices to beyond stupid. Unbelievable that Calif would not approve something that you could use to teach your kids proper gun handling, shooting and safety
I really wouldn't condsider this a good hand gun. Most people can't even clean it correctly because of how overly difficult it is to disassemble and ressemble. I literally tossed mine in the trash after 5 years of owning it. Every time I needed to clean it I would lose my mind disasembly and assembling it. It's just not worth it to me at all.
