As you’ve seen in the video, the Python is still a very lethal missile, both rear aspect and in last second head ons, because its kinematic performance is still among the best of dogfight IR missiles. The PL5E2 is arguably better, because of the IRCCM, but the Python has better performance overall. Me personally, I’ve always had a sweet spot for the Python, so it’s pretty much just up to personal preference
