I gained so much respect for Hayden in this episode. He was really trying to make it happen, it just wasn't in the cards. I appreciate his gameplay and his bravery to at least TRY and do something. I'm curious to see what's in store next week.
well technically he did do something..he saved his own ass. if he didn't do that, he was definitely going to get voted out. now he's got a couple more days to figure something out
Anyone at the bottom would TRY and do something. If they didn't, then clearly they shouldn't be part of the show. Don't get me wrong, Hayden is a cool guy, but a very overrated player this past 2 weeks.
TheBBallEnthusiast While I agree anyone would TRY to do something but I do not believe they would all SUCCEED like Hayden did. He picked apart the arguments amazingly and was able to coerce her switch sides. That is a talent that many lack…I mean he even got Katie to stay on his side knowing that she could easily go by drawing rocks (when she was already safe).
To be honest, I believe it was more Probst, Monica, and Gervase who got Cierra to flip, not Hayden. I mean "Four is better than six"? Come on Monica. That literally translates as "We see you as the fourth in our alliance and final member of the jury". And about Katie staying on his side. She knows that she's going home right after Hayden. Of course she's willing to take the chance of Cierra tying the game and getting the power just like Cierra took the chance of drawing rocks. Hayden is overrated.
TheBBallEnthusiast I hate hate the fact that PROBST is getting too involved! I like him being the host in challenges.. but sometimes the way he asks questions in tribal gets too pushy....
It's sad that it didn't work out for the Hayden/Katie/Ciera side, but Hayden effectively saved himself from being voted out, so he must have been happy that night.

Anyone bashing Ciera for her move is ignorant, and it's easy to say it was stupid because Tyson wasn't rocked. It's simple, if she sticks with Tyson, she's dumped at 4, and she's not a challenge threat to win immunity anytime to save herself. Take the risk to rock Tyson, and it works, she won't worry about being dropped because she would have a final 3 ready, and not be a 4th.

Wow, I loved the whole alliance of Katie and Hayden, and the fact the Ciera had the guts to do this shows she is a true survivor. She definitely would've gotten fan favorite

The "rustle vs. ruffle" thing had me actually laughing out loud, it was great. The jury and Jeff were loving this whole tribal.
Hayden truly should have won this season of survivor, having the target on his back because of big brother from the very start made him the largest target from the beginning, but he found a way to go around that and get to the end of this game, if things changed a week earlier, then Hayden would have won. I could imagine Tyson picking the white rock, that would be the best part of any TV show ever!!!

Hayden isn't the only one that had a good shot at winning. I think Ciera did as well. Around that time of the game everything was pretty locked up for Tyson's alliance though so it was too little too late. Tyson set himself up in an incredible position and was 100% the rightful winner.

This is one of the best clashes of personalities in the history of the show. Gervase blowing everything up and partially convincing Ciera to flip. Hayden giving the hard sell of the century. And during all this madness and while having to worry about being blindsided Tyson still has his sense of humor 😂

Prisca Laurencia i agree. Hayden was on the shortlist (top 40) for both Cambodia and Game Changers, but idiotic production thought that Brad would be a better choice, even though he didn't get enough votes on Cambodia (meaning bottom 5 as Mike was in the top 10 for men but lost)
For Cambodia they decided he shouldn't have gotten a 2nd chance cause he already won Big Brother.

Neither Aras or Vytas tried to "stab" Gervase and his alliance in the back (Caleb tried and failed). Hence the weird look Aras gave because he was loyal to Gervase and Gervase flipped on him before Aras could do anything!
Yeah Gervase sunk his chances of winning at this tribal council. A more accurate statement would to say that each juror tried to make a move towards his alliance and in terms of Aras & Vytas, Tyson's alliance got to them first so they didn't have that opportunity to make a move.

You cannot rustle feathers. The term rustling denotes some sound which is why you can rustle leaves. Feathers cannot produce a quick succession of sound. Either way that was a ridiculously hilarious exchange between Hayden & Tyson.

Everything about this tribal makes it a top 2 or 3 tribal. It's perfect gameplay on everyone (except for Gervase, but that's obvious), exciting, unpredictable, confrontational with Gervase and Hayden, great jury reactions, dramatic votes, even down to Hayden's facial reactions during the whole thing as well as Cieras clear looks of thought. And obviously the return of the rock draw. So epic. So nostalgic. So beautiful in a way. As they're leaving and you're seeing a close up of now the final 5, everyone is in shock. Nah. He did the same in older seasons, it's just that strategy is a much bigger factor in newer ones, so more strategy talk is prevalent from Jeff.
I love how so many players have improved so much by at one point playing with Boston Rob. Andrea, Tyson, and even Phillip improved incredibly by playing with him.
This move by Ciera alone gives her Survivor resume a boost! And I have to say that Hayden did a wonderful job in persuading Ciera to draw rocks. His convincing powers parallel Paul Newman's performance in The Verdict. Great tribal council!

ChristianChristianson Yes, clearly or the dumbest if you want. Gervase knows nothing about strategy : this video is the perfect example. At least, Francesca did not appear as a stupid girl : she tries to do some strategies which fail. But in my opinion, she is not the worst player.
She was doing something that made people want her out of the game. First impressions are SO important, Brad Culpepper was even able to realize that, not soon enough as he still screwed up, but regardless, Garvase is not the worst. Nor the dumbest, heck his ALLY in this game was nominated as one of the biggest dumbasses on this show ever, and his ally played with the biggest dumbass, J.T. Gervase is far from dumb.

I wish the RI competitors were allowed to come to the tribal councils. I would have loved to see Laura's reaction to her daughter's willingness to go to rocks.
I disagree, that would lessen the disadvantage of being voted out. You are in limbo so you shouldn't be allowed to do any jury things or regular castaway things.
Majority will say that it's Ciera who made that big move, but without Hayden egging her on switch sides, she probably would have stuck with Tyson. So I would give all the credit to the rock drawing to Hayden, NOT Ciera.
This may be one of the best tribal councils ever. Hayden just knows exactly what to say.
Hayden is really amazing at Survivor. A rock draw away from winning. He joins Rob and Cirie as one of the best to never win.
Somehow along the way Ciera has gotten all the credit for drawing rocks when Hayden was the one fighting for his life, if cierra had gone with Hayden and Caleb last vote they wouldn’t have even been in this position. Cierra is overrated
Hayden was pushing for it as he knew he'd be made safe .. he really didn't have cieras future in his mind at all
I just wish that Ciera would have woken up one vote earlier when they had Caleb, and could have gotten one of the three Axis of Evil members out. :-(
After the drawing of rocks Tyson had pretty much already won.
The others would have had to pull off an immunity streak, would have been the only way.
@@mnmtomic he still had an immunity idol and Cierra and Hayden had either one gotten immunity the other would be voted out. Let's not forget redemption island which allowed one more person in. Either case, they still had the numbers to take one of them out.
This was such a good episode! Funny how Katie, the most boring player got voted out. Definitely made it more interesting that Ciera and Tyson are still in it! Can't wait to see what happens next week!
Haydon was a fantastic player. Would love to see him come back. This was one of my favorite seasons!

It’s funny how Ciera was hesitant to write Monica’s name the first time and gets excited on the second vote. Damn I love this game.
Cierra didn't necessarily make a bad or good move. She made a risky one, but 6th place or 4th doesn't make much of a difference. It could wind up being a good move if Laura comes back into the game soon enough. I just wish she would've done this last week, would've been a better move for her. On Hayden's part, well done. Seemed like hope was lost until tribal, couldn't believe he pulled it out.

Probably the best Tribal of all-time. I think Ciera made a HORRIBLE choice. Now, she has NO chance of being better than 4th - and that's even with her Not picking the white rock.
Don't get me wrong, I Like when people make moves... I just think the risk was too great. If she felt she was 4th, last tribal was the tribal to vote off Monica.
Had it worked she would've been 3rd. It's like saying Denise did a good job in China by going against Peih-gee an Eric. Sure, she would've lost to Peih-gee, but it's better than 4th.

The risk was not worth it. Sure. If Tyson chose the white rock, then yes. But guess what? He didn't. There was NO logic in this decision. She got lucky that she chose a black rock, and she still didn't better herself. The only person that made out like a bandit here was Hayden.

Lol, he's just stating his opinion. No need to be calling anyone pussies here. But yeah, if you think it was such a horrible move for Ciera, then you are saying she should have just lied down and accepted either being 4th or just be another coat-tail rider to the end. That's worse and boring for television. Even if the whole drawing rocks was Hayden's idea, Ciera gained a lot of respect from everyone and the jury tonight instead of just sticking with Tyson. She probably didn't switch last week because she firmly believed that she was in the Final 3 with Tyson and only 4th in Hayden's alliance since he and Caleb would maybe want to bring Katie instead of Ciera to the final 3.
Tyson can play the game this beautifully, but with that attitude he wouldn't get my vote. Was the "Russell" comment needed, or telling Katie where her seat was on the jury. Arrogance isn't the best trait in this game, and the jurors will hold it against you.

Gervase almost cost his alliance the game during tribal. He made it obvious that Ciera was #4 during tribal. Just look at Monica and Tyson at 1:14. They want to tell Gervase to stop talking so badly.

Because what you see on TV is not what they see in the game. It's amazing how editing works.
If you've watched Samoa or Heroes vs Villains, you'll know that those top dogs can lose the game in the end due to a bitter jury. Natalie followed Russell blindly in Samoa and won the game because she didn't do anything. In a way, it's a valid strategy.
NinjApheX Wrong. She knew that Russell would look bad in front of a jury, so she played a good social game as he got all the blood on his hands. Hence, come Final Three, she convinced everyone to vote for her. She used Russell as a shield, not vice versa.
I think everyone will agree that Natalie played a great social game, but that is only one part of the game. Russell played a great physical game and an insane strategic game. It's depressing that people vote for the person they like the most to win the game rather than the best overall player. Sure, Russell got on some people's bad sides, but he dominated the game and carried his alliance to the end. If people took their emotions out of the game, Russell would win. For Russell to win, he would need someone like Kat on the jury. Her One World jury speech could have possibly won Kim the game. If Russell had someone on the jury who would tell the jury to take their emotions out of the game and vote for the best played game, there is non doubt that he would win.
TL;DR They played different games and with different juries, either of them could win.
Both good points, but here's my take. In Survivor, there is no set way to play the game without personally knowing who you're competing against. Everyone has a different way of playing Survivor (that's why there are so many opinions on if Russell deserved to win or not). Part of the game is the jury and that's why it's important not to piss them off. A jury system is just like voting in America. True, you should vote for the BEST candidate, BUT some people are selfish and choose the person who is most similar to them, or who benefits themselves the most.
I'm always fine with Tyson winning. But after he said that comment to Katie, It just makes him look like an idiot. So Hayden and Ciera, GET'EM!
