Hey! For that brush it came with a little plastic piece, it’s supposed to go on the back of the hair. I have this same exact brush and with the little back piece it’s MUCH better. And I would recommend using the top and going down if your hair is really tangled.

Depends the hair tie itself. Like if it's softer it won't show as much as a hard one. A thick one might show as much or a thin probably won't show.
