    From a fellow motion sickness sufferer to another, get a ReliefBand. They’re pricey but if you get a rechargeable one, it will last years. I used it on the winding road along the Amalfi Coast, the twists and turns in the Dolomites, on boats, planes, etc. and it worked well. Love your videos! Keep traveling and enjoying this wonderful world we live in!

    Next time you are in northern CA, look for Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park for some giant redwoods, beautiful small roads, and great camping.

    If y’all didn’t know, raisins are from Cali and they do free tours at the Sunmaid raisin factory. It’s near Kingsburg, Ca. You get raisins to try as well. They are so good fresh. Also near there a few miles is the Land O Lakes dairy farm. They do free tours there too. It’s off the Hwy. 198 between Hanford and Visalia. Those are near Kingsburg all with in an hour of one another. That area is the Central Valley and is the farming capital of the world.

    I just recently found ya'll's channel and I love your videos so much! You both put a wonderful effort into fun and entertaining videos with a dash of education! While you're out on the coast, if you haven't already, you should visit the Monarch Butterfly Grove! You're there in season and it's absolutely breathtaking to see so many monarchs! I can't wait for the next video! Be safe and have loads of fun. ☺

    You should carry ginger chews when you're traveling. Ginger is awesome for motion sickness. I always have ginger chews in my van and as soon as I feel the slightest bit of nausea, I pop one in my mouth and within a minute of sucking on it, I feel way better.

    Another great video, so many memories brought back for me. There is so much to see but try to make the Thursday night farmers market in SLO town, you are so close. Regardless what you do you will have great scenery (Black stone beach in Cambria, Morro Rock, etc.). Also there are a number of Spanish Missions to see along the way for a change of pace. Thanks again.🌼🌻🏵

    The van fits you two, safe travels. True story, when our family visited Hearst Castle we arrived early, visitors were gathering at the door, our family was a ways back when a groundskeeper approached us and said "watch this" and turned on the lawn sprinklers, sending all running for cover. Beautiful place. (1968)

Funny story; as we were touring one the larger rooms, the docent pointed at a huge tapestry and made a few comments about it one of the guests then asked , "where are the originals ?". I hadn't heard that the national parks were back to not allowing any filming. I guess I understand if you had lights and blocking people from an area or something but I feel like these days, everyone has a youtube channel even if they aren't trying to do it as major income. I hope you still do film for yourselves and have your own place to put the videos. Just kinda weird. Natalie, I am sure you have tried many things but they do make wrist bands and patches for behind the ears for motion sickness that work pretty well. The pills seem to take longer to work but if you knew you were going on a boat or something, they work ok. I also find that if I am the driver it isn't as bad. I love to be on boats and be in the air but I get sick too and it sucks. Hang in there..

    • @JimmyandNatalie
      @JimmyandNatalie  Рік тому +2

    I love to drive and twisty roads don't make me sick unless I'm a passenger. On my first roller coaster ride, I got motion sickness and wondered if it was because I was not in control, as I would be if I were driving. I rode again and held my right foot to the floor, pretending to be in control (with the gas pedal held to the floor) I did not get sick. Maybe you can try something like that - something to feel like you're in control.

    Hearst Castle is great. California State Park Campgrounds are some of the best in the country. I think you got charged $20 for a dry campground because it was near San Simeon. Road sickness. Caused by ears and eyes not getting same motion info. Have you tried wrist beads on acupuncture spots? Tried only looking at the road ahead and not looking to the side or reading? Tried driving to keep your eyes on the road? Tried sinus saline spray to open up sinuses? Motion sickness can only be prevented, not really treating it after it hits you.

    We stay at San Simeon State Park up on Washburn where you were at least once a year if not twice a year. It’s only about an hour and a half from our house and we love it. The elephant seals that you are seeing this time of year or nothing in December January February there is not a piece of sand that does not have an elephant seal on it. And you can smell them they stink and are quite loud. We’ve also been to Hearst Castle several times. It’s really too bad Natalie that you get carsick because this is one of my most favorite drives.

      San Simeon really is such a beautiful area! 😊 There was a ton of elephant seals when we were there so I’d be interested to see how they fit any more on that beach 😄

    We have family in Santa Barbara and will be there from 12/29 - 1/3. Our motorhome will be in Earl Warren Showground, exit 100 off Rt. 101, Calle Real exit. Also 10 miles south of SB is Refugio State Beach, Rincon Parkway then Hobson Beach Park. They are all on old hwy 101 along the coast. Check it our, right on the ocean.

    About the Redwoods. They are truly the survivors of the forests. Many of the redwoods you got a chance to see in person survived forest fires. That’s why look burnt 🥵 on the outside because they survived the forest fires.

      Yes, they have evolved to withstand most fire events. Another interesting fact… they can capture moisture from the air and collect it on their needles, the water then builds up enough that it will then drip down on their roots. Effectively they are creating their own microclimate.
