I don't have the patience for thrifting but my sister does & she has found some really good things. This store is very well organized & clean. I thought the prices & quality seemed fair except for glasses & some of the women's sweaters u showed.
I thought the glassware was over priced. Some were nothing fancy just plain glass. I watch a few UA-cam channels where the people are resellers on Ebay and Poshmark. They too have said that Goodwill has raised their prices to the point it's making it harder for the reseller to buy stuff at Goodwill and raise the price enough to make a fair profit. And these are resellers in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Colorado and California.
In Anchorage, we have Goodwill, Value Village, Platos, Salvation Army, Bishop's Attic, and I there's a couple more I cant remember the name. I live in Anchorage, but haven't been to a thrift store in a while. I do watch a few other you tube channels where the person is a reseller on Ebay, Poshmark, Mercari, Kidizin, etc. They show videos of themselves shopping at Goodwills, etc to aquire more merchandise for their store. And they all have mentioned that Goodwill has raised their prices. Almost to the point that there isn't enough room for mark up for the reseller. You should watch this lady from Pennsylvania named Karen. She's a reseller and is very knowledgeable on hard goods, aka: dishware, pottery, glassware, knick stuff. And clothing as well. Her you tube channel is, "Lavender Clothesline." She goes to Goodwill and other thrift stores in Pa. Also, Branden with Pro Picker. He's in Cincinnati, Ohio. He goes almost daily to Goodwill and more than one. Ginger Marvin is a good one. A husband and wife team in Colorado. Cathy and Chris. They focus mostly on shoes and clothing. Then Part time Picker, in Oakland, Calif. Matt and his wife go to Goodwills and their local flea market. And, Commonwealth Picker and Commonwealt Flipper, Kevin in Virginia. He goes to garage sales and Estate sales. Occasionally a thrift store. Check them out. It might give you some ideas for a future video. Love your videos. Watching from Anchorage. 🙂✌
We have value village as well & its higher than our other thrift stores too..but those prices are higher there than here..I worked for a thrift store near me & we couldnt give glasses or vases away for pennies..most got put in the dumpster sadly !
We have charity shops in the UK, and we can get book's at a reasonable price. Unfortunately most of the things sold in our local shop are cheaper to buy new. It was fun looking around your shop. Enjoy your book. 💞
I'm impressed with how neat & organized it is as a Thrift Store. Some of the clothing prices didn't look out of line, but others looked way out of reach. Most of the knick knacky things seemed very over priced to me. Thanks for the tour. As always I enjoy the time I spend with you. Hope that doesn't sound to strange. Look forward to our next outting.
I haven't gotten to do this in a long while, enjoyed this very much and would love to do it again! Most of the prices were kind of high, I thought, but than again I haven't done this in a long time! Good finds on the book & the game. If I'm going to read a romance, I would rather it be clean too! Let's go again, this was great!!! 🌼
So glad you enjoyed it! The prices were quite high on a lot of things but there are always a few treasures to be found. Thanks for the feedback, I will add more thrifting to my list of things to do in future videos!
Canada has value village too. They donate 17% of profit to local charities and give jobs to people starting over while getting help they need. They also donate goods to help those in need through local programs.
Tuscaloosa Alabama. Your thrift store is definitely more organized than ours. I like organization because I need to know where I am. LOL!! Love the vlog. I’ll watch if you go to more thrift stores or wherever you decide to go♥️
Well that was fun! They sure were proud of their glasses weren't they! wow! The glass christmas tree's I remember my granma use to have them out all over her house, one would have gum drops in it, 1 with peppermints or buttermints...That sure took me down memory lane of about 50 yrs ago!
They had some pretty nice toys for kids there, and the books, what a great idea, I need to get some books for my grandbabies , great place to look. ☺ I haven't been thrifing in years, when my kids were small, my youngest is 27, 😥 time for a reasonable shopping trip. I deserve a day for thrifting. 😉 Stay safe everyone, love your videos. Having coffee while waiting for my son and grandson to come try the jerky lol. I'm still so impressed lol .
Dishes, glassware, platters, etc are much less here at thrift stores. The mens jeans were more expensive there too. Books, games, toys were similar in price to what we pay in Indiana. I always look for yarn, sewing and craft supplies when I go thriving. But I am a big casserole dish purchaser or so my son says. I love Corningware. He looks for electronic, books, and soccer kits. I have gotten some great buys at our local Goodwill over the years.I enjoyed watching this!
We find Value Village is expensive in Canada as well. “Apparently” it helps stop resale. I like the small Christian stores. It is run by volunteers and the money goes for mission work in other countries. Value village is still on my list, it offers so much variety.
The “Love Inspired” Christian Novels are great I prefer the historical ones, I’ve read a ton of Tracie Peterson titles too. Great author. I too like Shannon Hale teen books. I used to work in a bookstore for 23 years until the closed a few years back. I’m sure Everette would love to go book shopping. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love thrift shopping and yard sales. We have several Goodwills in our area along with a Church Thrift store. Some of the prices at your thrift store on glassware and jeans are pretty high but games are cheap there. Thanks for sharing. A goodwill would be a nice video. Stay safe.
That's the way it is in Tennessee too second hand things are grossly overpriced. You could get new ones for the same price or a few pennies more at Ross or Walmart .
Looking at the prices of the toddler's clothing, I was surprised. At Carter's website, their sale items are numerous and less expensive. Shipping is free sometimes, or requires a minimum purchase, but I've always made out like a bandit. I liked the way this thrift store displayed things. Neat, clean. But I'd buy clothing online and save.
Agree with you 100%! I feel like you can get new things at target for the same price as well. I am not good at sifting through all the clothes for myself maybe one day when I am not in such a rush!
that was nice to watch you thrifting . crazy expensive i thought ,a person may as well buy new . just expensive here to in B.C. but still sometimes we can find a treasure mostly in big cities not in small towns it seems .
Hello they are expensive there some are sort of high in our area.We had some value village in our area too.Take care all thank for showing us around the store.😱😊😊🙏🐈
I thought the houseware and knick knack items were expensive. For the clothing those prices were all over the place. The toys, puzzles and books were about the same as here in central California. But ... On certain days they put colored sale stickers on items and those are the best times to go. Also senior discount day!
I mentioned that I lived in Alaska (Homer) as a kid and I STILL remember the Value Village jingle from the early 90s LOL. I lived in Albuquerque for a bit and was so stoked to see they have value village there! You're giving me so many fond Alaska memories. :)
The knitted dolly figure you didn't know what it was , well in UK knitting folk make these and they are used as spare toilet roll holder in bathroom, they slip over the spare toilet roll and hide it. this seems popular in UK amongst older folk.
Hi Friends, we loved going thrifting with you. Gosh the home wares was kind of expensive in comparison to the clothing. Second hand books are always a great buy! Isn't it funny the older we get the lower the heels on our shoes, l always thought it goes with the territory of being a Mum but maybe just me. Thankyou so much for sharing. 👍
I thought your prices were comparable to where I live in extreme north cental Indiana. Books & toys were even cheaper than here. Clothes were pretty well priced too, compared with the Goodwill stores here. Thanks for taking us along.
I noticed that the prices are very high at your thrift store the drinking glasses would run from 69 cents to 1.25 sometimes a group of 4 could go for 2 to 4 dollars brand new still in there boxes.Even your clothing is very high your books are priced very good ❤️ But there was a lot of beautiful things in there I wonder if it’s because your in Alaska and you pay higher prices for your things but I really enjoyed walking with you threw the store to see what kind of goodies they have to offer 😃👍❤️❤️God Bless 🙏
Love 💕 watching thrift store channels. Thought the prices were very high on the bric and brack. Clothing good prices. Sorry from England so different prices. Love watching your UA-cam channel
I love the charity shops! Just went by today! Browse and buy! Lauren, the prices are good on most things, but you have let us know the color of the day. Prices might be really awesome on those things. You're correct, after Christmas is the biggest score for most people. But where I go near me, they also pull from a ritzy neighborhood, so things are always super good! Show us more!
Prices are pretty expensive for items they received for free. Clothes prices not horrible, toys and books seemed reasonable. Glad my thrift stores are cheaper and there are a variety of them. I usually thrift for my junk journals and scrapbooking.
I crochet and have seen many patterns for dolls in a blanket although the blankets I have seen would be a little bigger so a child could swaddle the doll.
I think it compares pretty good with our Goodwill stores. I did think that the shoe prices were on the high side tho. Where I find my best deals is at our local St. Vincent store
Overall, this was an expensive thrift store. As thrift stores go, you have to keep this one in mind me because you never know where someone will donate their items. I can tell you that I would prefer to see The Salvation Army and Goodwill. They're known to be great stores. I also wanted to mention that those $2.49 drinking glasses you found, they weren't made of glass; they were made of crystal. Glass hdon'tas a green tint. 🥰 Have a good day. I don't want to offend anyone, but China can keep their things.
I loved this video. I usually thrift when I am on a project, like finding all purple vases. I would love to see Vintage clothing. Sometimes they have a section for just that. I love to look at the various styles. Records, Gary likes to look through the records. Do you have a cool record store in Anchorage? I love the household items and the artwork. I really love going to Church rummage sales. I love Antique stores. I love anything from the 40's and 50's. This store was very expensive. I would be curious what Salvation Army and Goodwill has. Tupperware. I love looking at vintage Tupperware. Do they have stores where people are selling new and used items. Kind of like the updated from the old. All those handled baskets would be good to carry in your Harvest from the Garden. I know I am all over the place. I love those places that are off the Beaten Path. I love going through a good ol' Fashion candy store whenever I travel
Hi Lauren things seem pricy compare to here I live. The doll you ask what this thingy t the beginning is how people use to hide the extra roll of toilet paper . I quest with Covid the doll lost her roll. Haha. The candy you showed that u commented I as heavy is way before the 50’s and is very valuable based on a member of our church.
I loved that candy dish with the milk glass. Kind of wish I had grabbed it to keep my rings in on my sink! Thank you for letting me know what the doll is. That is pretty funny to me!
But I would love too see more ..I love shopping with other people money ...lol..but we all are going to miss our handsome little man ...how was his first day ..and did you cry just a little???
I don't thrift because I get nervous about getting bed bugs off of furniture or home goods plus for those prices especially clothing you can get cheap and new clothing online at carters or old navy during off season sales. But the toys for that price I might go back to thrifting
That was interesting. The prices on some of those items was shockingly high to me. And I’m from California 😂Do you have Goodwill up there? Thank you for sharing
Thrifting is good for the environment though getting something that’s your size, fashion and colour is a bit of a needle in the haystack hunting expedition !
If you have time to go on the treasure hunt it can be really fun! I am at a stage in life that I don't feel like I have much time for the hunt but I do love a good find while thrifting or looking at garage sales.
The prices are to high for a thrift store area is way cheaper than that here in north carolina. An area has maize of everything in it an it's cheep to but I'd like to see more I love Alaska God bless
The clothes and shoes were so crazy expensive! Did those seem like good prices to you for used clothes and shoes. Not sure how those things are priced at regular stores in your area besides Costco.
Wow prices are high for second hand. We dont have a value village in weyburn sk canada but we do have a good second hand store and prices are alot less than what i see you ahowing and from other comments
You can find some great things from thrift stores but also loads of junk. Last week I got a pampered chef mandolin for $2.99 new in box. My grandson really enjoys cooking. Not me.
Anchorage doesnt have a Real Dollar Tree, or Dollar General. What there is, is a small family run Dollar store. I think there's 2 in Anchorage. I might be wrong. But one that I know of for sure.🙂✌
I wouldn't consider Value Village a real thrift store. Yes, they have nice things, but are way too expensive. I've seen it on other channels, Canadian, the same thing in VV's
Thrift stores are sometimes overpriced, not really what they are all about I don’t think. They used to be where people on low incomes could pick up bargains.
Do you enjoy Thrifting??? I feel like some prices were high but the books, toys, and games were decent. Tell me what you think...
I don't have the patience for thrifting but my sister does & she has found some really good things. This store is very well organized & clean. I thought the prices & quality seemed fair except for glasses & some of the women's sweaters u showed.

I still have my Easter basket since I was 5. I’m 71 now. Same with my Christmas stocking.
I love that! I loved my blue Easter basket growing up! My sister has our old stockings.
Value Village is expensive everywhere. The books were a good price. Would love to see more thrift stores shopping. Thanks Lauren.
Awesome! I will put thrifting on my list of things to keep looking at!
I love thrift store & goodwill shopping. Have only been twice since the pandemic. It's how I buy my clothes, games, movies, & books.
We have charity shops in the UK, and we can get book's at a reasonable price. Unfortunately most of the things sold in our local shop are cheaper to buy new. It was fun looking around your shop. Enjoy your book. 💞
hi Lauren! thank you for bringing us along!! at the Alaskan thrift store!! we love you and fam!!❤
Love when you show us stores and people all around Alaska, yes I love thrifting.

I love those love inspired ones for a light read. Take you back in time with a love story thrown in. Everett loves books!!
I usually make a beeline for the cook books in our towns charity shops,
I should buy cookbooks that way! Get some new ideas of meals to make!
Yes show us the other thrift stores, love to see the prices❤
Nice clean looking store. Some things a bit pricey for a thrift store. Enjoy!!
Agree on both accounts. Thanks for watching!
I love thrift shopping and yard sales. We have several Goodwills in our area along with a Church Thrift store. Some of the prices at your thrift store on glassware and jeans are pretty high but games are cheap there. Thanks for sharing. A goodwill would be a nice video. Stay safe.
I will have to check out Goodwill and compare it to some more local shops. Thanks for watching, hope you have a good week!

Value village and savers are owned by a for profit company, that is why they charge higher prices. But the 50% sale days are fun!
Yes! Sale days make it worth it. I also love to bring some donations and get a coupon to shop with! Thanks for watching!
Some of it was very expensive, but I feel like there’s always a few hidden gems
that was nice to watch you thrifting . crazy expensive i thought ,a person may as well buy new . just expensive here to in B.C. but still sometimes we can find a treasure mostly in big cities not in small towns it seems .
Hello they are expensive there some are sort of high in our area.We had some value village in our area too.Take care all thank for showing us around the store.😱😊😊🙏🐈
Hello Margaret! Thanks for watching and spending time with us!
really like thrifting, it is a huge thing in my area too. I would be all over the books, love books. Would like to see more thrift videos.
I thought the houseware and knick knack items were expensive. For the clothing those prices were all over the place. The toys, puzzles and books were about the same as here in central California. But ... On certain days they put colored sale stickers on items and those are the best times to go. Also senior discount day!
Loved this video! Thanks sooo much!! 🥰
Love this!!!!! More thrifting vids would be great!!! The prices though. Would love to see your other options as well.
I will have to look at some of the local shops and how they compare to the "chain" stores.
@@ThisAlaskaLife ,sweet. That would be great 🌹
I love thrift shopping. Some of the prices were good but some not so much.
I mentioned that I lived in Alaska (Homer) as a kid and I STILL remember the Value Village jingle from the early 90s LOL. I lived in Albuquerque for a bit and was so stoked to see they have value village there! You're giving me so many fond Alaska memories. :)
So glad it takes you back to your time here! Thanks for watching!!
This was fun
Glad you enjoyed it!
yes i love thrift shop and love your video thank you for sharing love from pa
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!

The knitted dolly figure you didn't know what it was , well in UK knitting folk make these and they are used as spare toilet roll holder in bathroom, they slip over the spare toilet roll and hide it. this seems popular in UK amongst older folk.
This store looks like a goodwill
Hi Friends, we loved going thrifting with you. Gosh the home wares was kind of expensive in comparison to the clothing. Second hand books are always a great buy! Isn't it funny the older we get the lower the heels on our shoes, l always thought it goes with the territory of being a Mum but maybe just me. Thankyou so much for sharing. 👍
Wow I am from the uk and thought the prices were fairly expensive compared to here. Great video. Thanks. X
I agree, the prices are pretty high on a lot of things. Always, seem to find a few treasure worth the $$
I thought your prices were comparable to where I live in extreme north cental Indiana. Books & toys were even cheaper than here. Clothes were pretty well priced too, compared with the Goodwill stores here. Thanks for taking us along.

Love 💕 watching thrift store channels.
Thought the prices were very high on the bric and brack. Clothing good prices.
Sorry from England so different prices.
Love watching your UA-cam channel
Glad you enjoyed coming along! Thanks for watching!
My kids loved the Charlie Bone books! Lol,those red heels could give you a nose bleed!!
That's good to know, I wasn't sure if they were any good. I should have grabbed them!
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
I love the charity shops! Just went by today! Browse and buy! Lauren, the prices are good on most things, but you have let us know the color of the day. Prices might be really awesome on those things. You're correct, after Christmas is the biggest score for most people. But where I go near me, they also pull from a ritzy neighborhood, so things are always super good! Show us more!
I will need to go much further to find a store in the nicer part of town! I will look for the color of the day next time, I am out of practice!!
love to see more yes some prices but we have that here on some thing to in Kansas
Thanks for watching!
Prices are pretty expensive for items they received for free. Clothes prices not horrible, toys and books seemed reasonable. Glad my thrift stores are cheaper and there are a variety of them. I usually thrift for my junk journals and scrapbooking.
I love thrifting if I have a specific project in mind. Your junk journals sound really fun. Thanks for watching!
I love to go to the thrift store and see what they have, our store is called the Valley thrift store and they are so high with their prices
“All the yucky stuff”… lmao! (Books with too much skin I’m guessing lol)
I crochet and have seen many patterns for dolls in a blanket although the blankets I have seen would be a little bigger so a child could swaddle the doll.
We have aloe Villages here but yours is ver nicely set up. Ours near where I live are not. Love the thrifting video. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
The prices are about the same as here in Minnesota. I love thrift stores!
I think it compares pretty good with our Goodwill stores. I did think that the shoe prices were on the high side tho. Where I find my best deals is at our local St. Vincent store
I think I could find better prices at a smaller local store. I will have to check it out!
Have a good day.
I don't want to offend anyone, but China can keep their things.
My ex is an Alaskan Native. I miss Alaska... never went to thrift shops though :(
Alot of our prices are like your here in West Virginia
I have not been in a thrift store is many years. The prices seem high to me though.
They seem high to me too but I think there is always a treasure or two to be found.
If you're not opposed to "magic stories", like Harry Potter, the Charlie Bones stories are interesting.
We used to have Mammoth Records in Anchorage, but they closed down just a couple years ago I think. No Tower Records up here.🙂✌
The prices are just about what we would pay at the Goodwill. They raised there prices about a year ago.
Hello, love your videos! Question..do you have a website for your air-bnb?? I think I spelled that right 😅
i would like to see goodwill and salvation army when you get a chance
I will add them to the list!
I rarely go to thrift stores, but to me I think there prices are high.
Sorry I meant candy dish that was white with handle in middle
I agree with your concerns. I do like to find a few treasures but I avoid a lot of things at thrift stores!
Thanks for sharing! That thrift store was pricy lol
That was interesting. The prices on some of those items was shockingly high to me. And I’m from California 😂Do you have Goodwill up there? Thank you for sharing
Yes. Anchorage has Goodwill, Salvation Army, Bishop's Attic, Plato's, and a few smaller thrift stores. I live in Anchorage. 🙂✌
Those glass you can get 6 for £4 here in uk
In Arkansas we have sav a lots ! Has same tags and prices are comparable! Too high on some stuff!
For a few more dollars you can buy new. Those prices are crazy.
Agreed! It makes it hard to want to go and sift through and find things at those prices!
Do you have a library Everett would love it there im sure
The prices are to high for a thrift store area is way cheaper than that here in north carolina. An area has maize of everything in it an it's cheep to but I'd like to see more I love Alaska God bless
Thanks for watching!
I will have to compare the prices to the "chain" thrift stores and a local one. The chain ones always seem really pricey! Thanks for watching!
the doll you put on a toilet paper roll in your bathroom
Wow those prices on clothes are very high I love goodwill in Ohio
I will have to check out a goodwill next. I feel like their prieces are even higher but it has been a while since I've been. Thanks for watching!
Wow it’s very expensive! I love thrifting but the prices were very high!!!!
Agreed! Makes it hard for me to get excited about thrifting when I can get new things for the same price.
it's better than ours!!
I LOVE THRIFTING but those prices were painful. Almost like you could go to Walmart abs get the same thing new for those prices .
A lot of that stuff at the thrift store is regular price here at these stores that I live at in Kentucky I live in Mayfield
You can find some great things from thrift stores but also loads of junk. Last week I got a pampered chef mandolin for $2.99 new in box. My grandson really enjoys cooking. Not me.
My seemed expensive for a “thrift store”! But maybe it’s Alaska. Idk.
You are right, it is quite expensive. Most thrift stores in Alaska are expensive, just like everything else I guess!
Is there dollar stores in Alaska
Anchorage doesnt have a Real Dollar Tree, or Dollar General. What there is, is a small family run Dollar store. I think there's 2 in Anchorage. I might be wrong. But one that I know of for sure.🙂✌
Expensive especially they get it donated
I agree!
I can get things cheaper at Walmart than I can at my local thrift store.
I agree on many things! I like finding a few treasures but a lot of times I don't have time to do the hunting that thrifting requires!
I like thrift stors but they're even expensive in Alaska my goodness
I will have to go and look at some local thrift stores and see how they compare to the chain ones. Thanks for watching!
I wouldn't consider Value Village a real thrift store. Yes, they have nice things, but are way too expensive. I've seen it on other channels, Canadian, the same thing in VV's
I will have to see what local shops we have and how their prices compare to the "chain" stores.
I know I'm old but my heavens when did second hand store s get so expensive ..
Is it just so expensive because you're in Alaska? I was screaming put those baskets back!
2:54 my anxiety level 📈📈
I'm so sorry! Glad the plates stayed all together!
Thrift stores are sometimes overpriced, not really what they are all about I don’t think. They used to be where people on low incomes could pick up bargains.
I wenT to our thrift store today it's run by our local church found books your's is a bit pricey I've just finished one of those stories
That doll thing with the crocheted purple dress is a toilet roll cover. Popular in the 80’s and gross 🤣
Oh my, germs 🦠 hahaha
Really cool looking stuff but overpriced for thrift store my opinion
Agreed! Always good to find a few treasures but for the most part the prices are high!
Your thrift store is very expensive , shoes for 18.00 and even 12.00 wow !!! Where I live in pa our thrift stores aren't as expensive
