Ive been absolutely loving DD2.. way more so than my experience with DD1.. its not perfect but i find myself absolutely hooked by DD2 whereas DD1 never could.. after i finish up with DD2 i might revisit DD1 though..
Who knows you may Enjoy DD1 more now.
If you havent made it to bitterblack isle in DD i recommend you try to get there. Endgame is so good in DD in my opinion.
I am playing this game on a 6-7-year-old I BUY POWER PC with no upgrades with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080.
and it runs the game very well it's been running smoothly from Day one.
I don't understand how people with better PCs Are having a hard time Running this game.
I have Over 1000 Hrs playing this game and I still love it.
Not sure how you managed to run it without any issues this whole time. You actually may be a Wizard for that.😅

@@StalwartShinobi ah..."The King", I actually haven't seen it. Both are great actors though.
I can only recommend to buy the first game. In terms of content / story, it is by far superior... there's a reason I bought it 3 times (first on release on PS3, later the "Dark Arisen" remaster on PS4, and then again later on Switch so I could play it on the go).
IF they ever bring it to PC, I'll have to look into it.

@@MrHoodieJones Dark Arisen is the first Dragon's Dogma game, it's just the remastered version with all the content. Just in case there was any confusion there 🤗
In my humble opinion this game is worth every penny. I would not wait to buy it. Also, once you’ve been playing a while Ferrystones are pocket change and available in most towns. So the fast travel really only forces exploration during your first run.

@@MrHoodieJones I think it’s a fair price given the amount of games that I can only bare 10 hours of before they are uninstalled. I would be very interested to know what you think is worth this price tag? They must be great games!
I guess that question can be interpreted differently by everyone. Games that I personally think hold up to this price value. Are ones that I found the story incredible all the way through and offer ALOT to do outside the main story, but feel worth my time offering side adventures that don’t feel like a chore. Games I could see myself sinking 100 hours or more into. While having multiple playthroughs because of the replay ability factor. Which I admit are far and few. However a few that come to mind are: Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Witcher 3.
Again…it could be interpreted differently by everyone. I’m glad you see DD2 as a game like that, not trying to take away anything from you. Unfortunately, it didn’t hit that mark for me is all. 🤷🏻♂️
@@MrHoodieJones I have >600 hours in this game. I also loved Elden Ring and put similar hours into it. Witcher 3 I should buy really. RD2 lasted me around 10 hours. Thank god I got that really cheap… awful experience. I would have been very upset to pay full price for that game. I guess we are all different 🙃
600 hours is bragging rights in it's own right, that takes some serious commitment regardless of the game.
Yep, everyone has different tastes and that's perfectly fine.
2nd playthru, 246 hours on ps5. It's really a slow burn gem. 1st playthrough was 135, got true ending, now I'm just going dumm and doing my own thing. Got 87% of the trophies. It's a pleasant jaunt tbh lol

Fair review although I don't agree with your conclusion. For me, the term "flawed masterpiece" describes it best and it was definitely worth the price. Gave me a Witcher 3 vibe all over. Definitely gonna try out the first game.
Yeah that's perfectly fine to have a different opinion. As long as you enjoyed your experience and the game at the end of the day is the main thing.
The pacing of the game story/lore-wise is so horrible. The harpies are a great example of this. Why are they the second type of enemy you see? Why not have a more generic fly enemy and then slowly fold in the weird and terrifying enemies like harpies a bit further in the game. Same thing with the Medusa in the opening cut scene, you just have that random fight and then don't really see that kind of monster again in the main story? I think you're right the game is fun, but I don't know if it's worth $70 at this point. I'd almost recommend people just go buy the complete edition of Dragon's Age Inquisition instead.
Valid reasoning, I had that same thought at one point about the Medusa.
Dragon age inquisition is literally only better in story dogma beats it every way else
@@mrjenchilada DAI has way more variety in landscapes, it has a real crafting system, everything progresses in a thoughtful way, you can actually adjust the difficulty.... there are very few things DD2 does better besides maybe the fun of having your own pawn and being able to "interact" with other players online.
Great video dude I love the energy 👍. But ngl I absolutely love this game, i dont care about the story, the enemy variety the fast travel issues in any way. I just love walking around with my buddies exploring this insane world and making memories along the way. I'm a simple man 😎🤙

I think this game is worth $70. The combat alone is so fun. I've already spent 100 plus hours on this game. That's like $1.42 per hour entertainment value. Name me an entertainment option that's that cheap? Going to the movies you can end up spending $20 for 2 hours worth of entertainment. That's $10 an hour. Even if a game isn't that great, if you spend 100 hours worth playing it, you for sure got your money's worth.

I love it (I am a MASSIV sucker for the first DD, which I essentialy bought 3 times)... but I am also disappointed. I expected more improvements in the story telling department, I expected a somewhat more interesting story anyway, and I expected more content. Especially the post-game is quite disapointing compared to the first game. Remember the "Everfall" dungeon with tons of optional bosses with great loot? Remember the "Ur-Dragon" that could be fought by players collectively online? And then of course the amazing "Dark Arisen" expansion with the "Bitterblack Isle" dungeon...
It also pissed me off that there is essentially a time limit on the post-game, if you want to save the various villages, cities etc. It really limits your options for going out and exploring the entire "Unmoored world".
I hope they will be releasing a massive DLC similar to "Dark Arisen" at some point...
I'm with you on wishing the Unmoored world wasn't timed. Thanks for the comparisons, I hadn't played the previous games...though it helps paint a picture to get an idea of the missed opportunities DD2 passed on....or atleast for now.
I play on a ps5 and have had no issues with performance. Of course I would never play any game on my pc since I work on one all day and just don't want to. I don't care about fast travel but ferrystones are all over the place. You can buy from the dragonforge guy for 3 wyrmcrystals which are gained killing dragons. These are not microtransactions they are drops from dragons... , and if you do the true ending you get lots of ferrystones from the unmoored world. But at this point I guess that I do have deep pockets since I'm on NG++ now and have more wyrm crystals than can fit in the stash. personally, I think $70 is fine for this game. The character creation alone was worth that alone. I spent hours on customization since I had preordered the game and we could create characters before launch. Some people might find that too expensive and not buy the game, but ps5 has a gazillion games to choose from and some are even free. I don't know if there are free games on steam but I'm sure that there are cheaper games. I won't buy something that I can't afford so people just need to use good judgement. To buy a $70 game if you need groceries is a really bad idea.

I was buzzing when i first started but soon realised it just sent you down corridors and made you go back to the main town to get to the left of the map. Quests suck, enemies suck, gameplay sucks

This game was a hard pass from me when it got released... i tried to do skyrim and i think i got like thirty minutes in before deciding this fantasy style wasnt for me... review hasn't sold me on it
That’s fair. This style won’t be for everyone. I think Skyrim and The Witcher 3 are the exceptions for me (currently), on really enjoying this style.

Loved it till halfway through NG+ when a pawn of mine caught dragon covid and made me rage uninstall the game. Yeah im done. Combat is fun tho!

Funny because I let my pawn destroy battahl and didn't find it tragic. I barely revived any npcs and the town was full of npc in a few days anyway. In unmoored 2 out of 3 pawns had it but I had to keep reviving the warrior so he probably didn't get a chance.
Ummm, I'm currently playing Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen and it sounds like Capcom just waited 10 yrs to release the same game with updated graphics (which looks like a AAA game from 2015).. lazy.

I had not played any of the Dragon’s Dogma games prior to this one. I’ve heard it almost feels like a re-skin of the same game mentioned by people who have played both. 🤔
