honestly, I wasn't sure about Emma stone as cruella, but omg do both Emma's were amazing in this, I loved the fashion and everything about it, it was soooo good, especially the clothes!
I'm a dude who barely watch Disney movies, isn't really into fashion, nor the "London" vintage anomalies. But I enjoyed every aspect of the movie. I only watched it for the reasons, I am a big fan of the classic movies, getting spin offs and reverse origins for old famous characters. Made me love those things i never really expected.
The fashion was absolutely amazing😩✋the ablility to use Baroness's old dresses and have them look like trash while Cruella is revealed in the garbage truck is absolutely genius and beautiful.
I actually, surprisingly, loved this movie. Also, I like to think that in this universe, the original animated movie was actually a movie wrote by Roger that was inspired by the events and rumors of this movie. So that in the "real" universe Cruella doesn't end up an actuall attempted puppy murderer.
Emerging from the lump of dumped chiffon like a swan, The Garbage Truck dress was by far one of the best presentations along with the silver eye shadow make-up (reminded me of the silver sparkle shadow Audrey Hepburn sports in the Ritz Hotel Bar scene wearing black lace from How to Steal a Million), and the coiffured wig very much like madame du Pompadour from the French Court. The impact of the dress's train and the close up became iconic the moment it was presented. The ruffled newsprint fabric adornments made it current and diverts your eyes for a split second. In a way, it was not as eye catching in colour as the red petal dress yet set in gauzy focus purposely by the cameraman...in ways the chiffon train like an austrian shade of pleats is very couture and it's that understatement that clearly made the statement and the dress of great impact and a symbol in the film -- this character "created" a vision of dust in her exit - that's what makes it a sensation.

As someone who LOVES fashion (and then purposely goes against whatever's trending and pumps things up to extreme), I must say that THIS movie shows what fashion is about! Expressing yourself through the artwork you wear. People can get to know you without you having to say a word. Jenny Beaven is a fashion expert and I lived for it!
Awesome job truly just a great piece of work. I always love and respected all different forms of art. I can dress and do hairdos that looks great on others just not for myself. 😐 I don't work in the field, but enjoy it for years. As mother that had my girls hair and outfits to match. If I myself had one of the colors in the rainbow in my hair my style matched the type of hairdo. So having one that loved classy and Hip-Hop where was good for me and my baby girl who loved to be a showstopper. I had a lot of parent conference on how she would change the uniform and convince other kids to do so also. I'm such a proud mother.
Hollywood actresses love to moan about the uncomforted-ness of corsets when as a matter of fact corsets when fitted correctly and worn correctly they have been proven by many, many people to be comfortable for everyday wear. some corsets also are very good for medical reasons, some people with scoliosis wear corsets because it helps straitens their backs without putting much strain on the spine.
Yes I've heard that too! But I do think there's a difference between a 'normal' corset for casual wear and one for a movie like this that's supposed to make you look thinner, fit perfectly with the specific type of dress etc.
In fact the oldfashioned corsets were worn with a layer beneath them and they were worn in similar to leather shoes. There is also no Elasthan: Corsets that are historically (nearly) correct have to fit perfectly to not hurt. I believe the hollywood actresses moan about corsets because they don't get to wear them as they are meant to. In TV corsets are often worn like today's sexy underwear and it's wrong. Especially in TV series with less budget there is a mix of modern and old fashion and cheap corsets are used to attract the men by wearing nothing underneath and show lots of skin. Of course it hurts.
cruella deville is my favorite movie I just love it I can't wait till it comes out and when my mom gets a lot of money cuz we're like rich but we need more money to buy it and we just got him I'm watching it right now
