    Helpful info. Love how the community is always happy to share info and help out other Anglers. Ryan was on my channel just yesterday walking through his Titan. We didn’t get into the details of this install. Glad you did.

    I just used your video to install my Elite 9 TI on my Native Titan, you saved me days of work! Thank you so much for taking the time to film this. Now it's time to go catch some fish :- )

    Dude that was a GREAT install demo! I like the idea of running the wires south to a battery box.If I was going to do mine over again, I would probably mount my battery box in back under the rear hatch cover.

      Yea I wish I would've tightened up my wires like you did. I just used zip ties, but it is not as clean as yours. And again, I wish I would've ran my battery south instead of to the front hatch.

    Ordering the Ti2 9 today.. watch Kongo916's video, and then yours.. thank you BOTH, I am now confident hitting the BUY button on the Lowrance Ti2 9.. I already have a Hook2 7HD on my Titan 13.5, my issue was mounting that HUGE transducer underneath with ease.. holes for the wiring are already in place.. Thanks Mobbin, and keep putting out GREAT content..

    Thanks for posting - very informative! I know this vid is a little dated, but thought this comment might help someone. To get a very clean hole in these plastic boats, it's best to use a step bit - it's a conical shaped bit. It's a must have for kayak DIYers!

      I took my time, bought a few mounting plates in different brands and tried to get all the right tools. I also studied other peoples install to learn from their mistakes. That helped a lot. In the end, it turned out to be an expensive install HAHA. But got more tools tho!!!!!!!

    Nice clean install! I like the lowrance position but I’m afraid that I will hit it with paddle when sitting down paddling or standing up paddle/sight fishing in my slayer propel. Any issues with that where you have yours mounted? I am about to do an install as well. Thinking about picking up a battery box and creating w USB ports. Something that I can remove and transfer to the flatboat in minutes. Any advice would be appreciated!

    Nice was thinking on doing the same setup also but we do a lot of river fishing so was kinda of scared of breaking the transducer on rocks and shallow waters as it was being under the yak but nice work on the install. You’ll love the lowrance 7ti i know i do lol tight lines bro

    • @MOBBINOutdoors
      @MOBBINOutdoors  6 років тому

      i think with this install, using the metal brackets to keep the transducer as low profile as possible, its the best way to protect the transducer. I had the YakAttack Cellblok. It was convenient, but it caused a lot of drag while tracking and I was being a lot more careless with it. So I wanted to go away with it. This is just my experience tho. YMMV

  • @Josey4u
    @Josey4u 4 роки тому

    Hey buddy, how has it been to transport it? No problem with where the transducer sits? I know you got a new boat but i was curious all the same. I am about to upgrade mine.

    What saw horses do you have your yak on? How do you get it on and off those before and after each trip?

    Ok dude just picked my titan up and wanting to rig the Lawrence. How is this working out. I load the yak in my truck bed will the boat be laying on the transducer in this setup. How’s the side scan working since you been fishing it. Do all functions work nicely. Have you video game fished it does it work well. Thanks man. Nice install and I appreciate your videos keep it up🙌🏻

    • @MOBBINOutdoors
      @MOBBINOutdoors  6 років тому

      works perfect. All the feature work, no interference and my install is solid. Side scan only reads well when your on the move, sonar and fish reveal is flawless. Video game on the drop shot with fish reveal is a blast!

    is that a different rear hatch cover from the stock one? it looked way easier to close than mine is.

  • @aranha9365
    @aranha9365 2 роки тому

    It may sounds silly but, would be possible to attach the transducer on the opposite side of the metal mount, and screw it "upside-down" on the yak? In order to keep the transducer more inside and protected by the hull's transducer hole.

    • @MOBBINOutdoors
      @MOBBINOutdoors  2 роки тому

      Not with these models. The transducer is too long to fit inside the dedicated space. The newer model slayers you can since there is more room now.

    Why didn’t you use the same YakGear cover at the unit? I don’t see why you used the Hobie cover for the wires. Thanks.

    • @MOBBINOutdoors
      @MOBBINOutdoors  4 роки тому

      i could've but the Hobie 3 way hull provided more options if i wanted to use a different unit. YakGear cover is really meant to be used with 1 wire. 2 wires is a very tight squeeze but doable. The hobie cover is not compatible for the transducer hole placement.

    Before this install I saw you were using the Lowrance portable kayak mounting kit. I am getting my native 10.5 and am trying to figure out how I am going to mount my Lowrance HOOK 2 Tripleshot. Did you have any issues with the portable mount? I want to make sure the side scan imaging work good if I go that route.

    • @MOBBINOutdoors
      @MOBBINOutdoors  6 років тому

      I was using the yakattack CellBlok, Yes its portable and swappable with other kayaks. But it added more time to my set up getting into the water. Having it installed eliminated this task. I get into the water a lot faster

    • @chrisfine6250
      @chrisfine6250 6 років тому

      MOBBIN Outdoors did you have any issues with the down scan and side imaging working?

    • @MOBBINOutdoors
      @MOBBINOutdoors  6 років тому

      absolutely non, its flawless. Actually.... if I go slow, the side imaging doesnt really work well. You need to be moving around 1mph to get a good scan

    I’ve watched this install video a few times over the past 3 years. It’s time to do my own install and can’t find the YakGear electronic cover anywhere as I thought I bought it a couple years ago and put it aside. My Hobie thru wire covers are in the box. Your link doesn’t work anymore and I’m searching everywhere online. Do you know anywhere else to buy one?

    • @MOBBINOutdoors

      there are other products that work just as well. Check yakattacks thru-hull kit. those are really popular

    hey man, im doing the same upgrade to my titan 13.5 (i have the same unit). my only question is does the transducer rub when you slide the boat during load and unload?

    • @MOBBINOutdoors
      @MOBBINOutdoors  6 років тому +1

      yes it does when load the kayak and slide it on the lip of my cargo area. Because I know its there, I place bathroom carpet on the lip of my cargo area and load my titan nose first. When the front hull makes contact on the floor of my cargo area, lift the back end and allow the titan to slide on its nose. This will prevent constant contact with the transducer on the cargo area. Im not perfect and I know im making contact with the transducer, but it can take a beating.

      Joe Magnento I would prefer the 7 ($699) but my pockets saved $300 with the 5 ($399) on sale at bass pro shop.
