Also, that she is taken advantage of her heritage ethnicity that is true, I remember when she was in California, USA during interviews emphasizing that her grandparents were from Spain. She did what she had to do to reach her goals and she is there now. As an immigrant I know how difficult it is to gain a place into society. She is rich, famous and pretty, perhaps this is not the goals of dreams of many but for her those were and she made it. She is there my friend!

+Chris Alberto Who would want to stay in Mexico when they are not limited by constraints, economic or otherwise? She takes advantage of a lie. Some grandparents are from Spain, so she associates with it. Some grandparents are Lebanese, so she says she associates with them too. She plays up the ethnicity card to boost her image. Who cares if she reached her own entitled self-aggrandizing goals, if she has to look foolish and coquettish doing so? Plus immigrant or not, we all have problems fitting in to some degree. Especially minority groups, so don't use your status as an immigrant to make your issues seem unique.

They make it seem like being an immigrant is a badge of honor and struggle that gives them a right to act they please. It is not appropriate and what Salma Hayek does is offer a twisted image of hope for those gullible people who look up to her. She makes them think she can relate to them when she really does not. Shes Beautiful in every way, intelligent, inspiring, her voice is gorgeous and her accent is sexy. She's a strong character and I really admire her. But she's Naive... or maybe she's being very careful what she says, because American media for kids is not designed to benefit them. It's not that they don't think they're interested in philosophy and poetry... it's that they don't want to teach them anything constructive. Watch Dave Chapelle talk about sesame street, how it teaches children to judge people and you'll have an idea what I mean.
