Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.

In your persistent hangar there should be a part that is more of a hab area with bed and shower, etc
The main reason for habs was that they needed to be instanced to players. Now that we have instanced hangar anyways it makes sense to just spawn in you hangar directly.
That'd be a nice touch. I'd be happy just being able to bedlog in my hangar. Past that just logging back in where I log out.
This would be a great change to hold us over until release and then base building could take its place. If you can’t afford a base and you wanna live in a city, then you spawn in a hab and have to go to your hanger but only after release
They are planning on adding different modules that can be bought for the hangars if I recall correctly. One of them would be a hab module.

Petition for turning the ATC section of our personal hanger into a hab for us.
I only want to spawn in a hanger at my home location.
I was able to experience the spawn-to-hangar feature and it was nice. I hope it opens the door to being able to bed-log in our home hangar in the future. It would cut down the time-sink significantly.
Hanger Spawning was an amazing change that I didn't know I wanted until it happened.

@@user-eu7vw8mq7x yeah on the EPTU, pretty much it's a work around until they fix the elevators. I hope it stays until we respawn where we logged off.

Yeah I like the idea of spawning in your hanger or that could be a choice. Either spawn in the hanger or in a room.
A big part of me wants it to have the time to complete the last phase of save Stanton over the holidays. But if it’s going to be unplayable, just hold it back.
Just the SC discord and you'll fly thru it... otherwise everyday it'll be harder. My main acc it was fast. 2 days down. My alt omg a good week until I found that server.

If yes, just pick up the 36k contract for H, He, BEXA. Usually asks for 2-3 boxes of each.
Buy a lot of H, He from Seraphim, and BEXA from Magnus gateway (IIRC. May be someplace else)
Load it all up and head to Pyro gateway.
If you bought enough cargo, you should be able to finish all 6 contracts right from your hangar.
Don't do the other contracts because half the time you need to pick stuff up from planet elevators and they're bugged.
The hangar loading test is 100% a step on the road to personal habs.
just put a bed in the hangar and let me spawn there xD, its like a man sleeping in the garage next to his car :D nothing weird about that

Amazing news. The two biggest time wastes atm are 1) Walking to your hanger, rather than just spawning at the medical bay they already modeled in the hanger. And 2) Having to fly a billion places to buy everything; shopping. If they fix #1 they just need a way to order things remotely to fix #2. Perhaps generate a transport mission for NPC or player to fill, wherein ordered goods are delivered to where you order them to within X hours. That way you can buy everything you need from anywhere in the galaxy and have it delivered (at a premium) while you go do other things or go to bed for the night.
They said there will be player purchase and sell orders, which I can't friggin' wait for!
Hangar spawning to me seems like a weird thing everyone seems to want. Its like living in your garage rather than your home.
I get that it skips the city travel, but that because cities actually need to be fleshed out. Hopefully its just the test for spawning in player homes when base building comes to game.
I agree, I think hangar spawning would be a mistake. Cities would be deserted. Players want it because it removes the resistance, but if you keep carving to that you end up with no real substance left. "Players tend to optimise the fun out of games" as the devs of the Civ games famously noted. That said, maybe it would track if you make it diagetic, and allow players to physically place a functional bed in their hangars. Myself, I'm looking forward to having my own instanced, persistent hab in New Babbage or Orison.
It is weird and honestly kind of dumb but there are probably a ton of players that quit because they can't find their way out of the city
Fuck that weird sim living bullshit, I want to spawn in my hanger and get to bizniz because I have a real life outside of public transport on a game
To Missles: Why not add the option in Claim as in Repair to pay the price for rearming them on claim or not. Or only partially. I think this would be an easy workaround for the issue. Of course Prices need to be balanced at some point also availability. But currently...
They have the system in place too. When buying rattler2 missiles, you can choose to not buy the submission.
One thing that kinda worrying is just to get it out thet are having to halve the player count per server as such..we have 10 servers now for the SM setup but with 500 players so on average they are looking at 50 player per server count right now.
That means they are double the number of servers required to run the same total player count which would double the cost of their servers. That isn't sustainable and originally discussed was that they were expecting to increase player count per server, not decrease it.
On the light controls there are certain things that would be nice to turn off for example the tons of lights on the exterior of the Polaris, in the dark the thing practically looks like a Christmas tree but having potential element of surprise by going lights off would be nice.
I have a feeling the hangar spawning was to test instanced player habs, not spawning in the hangar. This would be a nice option, though. It would be cool if logging out in your instanced hangar meant you logged back in to where you were standing, since that could be saved much more reasonably than when you’re out in the world at the moment.
Z'd dimension is the 3rd dimensional volume metric. Which relates similar to the X and Y dimensions when storing.
The actual implementation of armor size limits is a lot closer to what you suggest. Not every item fits in every backpack.
Until 4.0 launches I see no reason to play since everything is getting reset.
I cant wait till we get a planet that looks as nice as that but in a lawful system so I can make a home

I too am currently waiting on parts to arrive for a new system! Can't wait to see 4.0 on a system that can handle SC a bit better. Everything should arrive before Christmas, knock on wood. Postal strike in Canada causing some issues.
I think 4.0 is the crossroads for Star Citizen.
Finally a 2nd powerplant for the starfarer. It was really weird to have 3 shield generators, 4 guns for the pilot and 3 Turrets and only 1 power plant.
Hauling to and from pyro will be fun, I just hope that piracy isn’t over shadowing the fun cause as a space trucker that’s something I don’t want to deal with

Yea it will be interesting to see what happens. I see people saying you can hire orgs to guard/escort or run with org mates, but then you have to split the hauling profit with them, making it a pretty bad way to make money.
@@TinMan445 welcome to making money. It's not all 100% profit every single time you make a run. People have gotten way too complacent making millions solo that when they lower payouts and you have upkeep a lot of people are going to cry you including lol.
@koolerpure good thing for you when you come out of the jump supposedly it will be a random location. So hopefully that won't be too big of an issue with Pirates. Even if it looks like you're alone I'd not stuck around too long to find out.

honestly i know its far out......but i think i'm most excited for base building potential. short term the backpack increase is nice, and honestly i just want 4.0 live so i can start my offgridding/Z->H play with pyro and stanton together. #moresandforthesandbox

We'll be spawning into instanced habs in the future. I'd rather not spawn in my hangar, as I usually restock before I go to the hangar, so it would take twice as long to leave the hangar, go to the shops, then come back to the hangar.
Would be great to play 4.0 over the holidays!! Just waiting now and don’t do as much as I want since a full wipe is upcoming.

looking forward to 4 for the carrack upgrades , have owned 1 since it 1st came out and never had any updates
I am as excited as the next backer to get 4.0 live but insisting on releasing the patch no matter what is usually what causes me to take a break from games until they are more playable again. And in this case, i dont really want that to happen
Oh well, im excited for a stable game, where i can bring in my friends with proud and not have fear the game breaks all the time.

There should be more medical equipment specialized for different injuries which would take up inventory and encourage specialization
There will, for sure be a fleshing out of the damage and medical areas of the game. radiation, pressure and injuries like loss of limb. Surgery will become a thing

I hope they don't play 4.0 on live so close to the holidays. Let the devs relax and get 4.0 live next year. And if it bugs, they can solve this fresh and without a disruption. PTU is fine though.

Server meshing is the new hot thing that lets them stitch servers together to lighten loads and increase player counts.

I listen to star citizen news and podcast for like 6 hours every work day for the last 2 months, this is the first I've heard
@@bradthebreadstick they couldn't optimize the game so they added more severs to handle the load. It's not gonna be cost effective long term, but for now it will give them a much needed win from the community
Couldn’t disagree more about the backpack comments. I’m sick of trying to loot gear and weapons but “it’s too big”, it’s a game, stop making it so tedious and let us have some fun loot.
Yea def agree with you really dampens the experience when you can't put items in your backpack just to loot them throws the whole gameplay for me sometimes
It is a bit janky I must admit, but there is a work-around. When you go looting, bring a 2 SCU container with you. If it is a bunker mission, a 2 SCU container can fit through the door that leads to the elevator. Just load it on there, then go down the elevator, set the crate just outside the elevator and clear out the bunker. Then when you are done, put your weapons in the crate, then go around and pick up the weapons you can carry. Then put them in the container. Then you can go back up the elevator, load the crate onto your ship and fly off.
@@MidnightWolfSDJ yeah they know about it...but between the tractor beam nerfs and the flailing around jank of them just grabbing a crate to lug around to loot something is a bit dumb. No point in so much focus on immersion and then have so many immersion breaking things going on. This was a good move for sure. They should go back to the ragdoll inventory as it was. They always break something that didnt need fixing and leave stuff that does for a decade.
@ until the game gets to 1.0, everything is breakable unfortunately, changing a line(s) of code is very inviting to bugs. Just keep being patient and eventually the game will be at a somewhat polished state! If you can’t wait, no worries! There are plenty of other games to play until CIG gets things fixed! I myself don’t even play it faithfully anymore until we get to a certain state! But I am anxiously waiting for it and play other things to help get me by! Hehe!

I don't agree with your backpack opinion. This is a game, it needs to be balanced around being a game, not reality. Imagine how loot would work with a "real" inventory. Boring AF. You'd have to leave 90% of everything behind.
