It may be cold, but man, the peace and quiet ambient sure makes up for the cold, nothing like trying out new stuff with no one bothering or scaring away the fish, I look forward to see more on this rod, thanks for sharing my fellow angler friend.
I'm starting to get some love from AL recently.. someone leaked a word about me somewhere or something.. I am talking to the fishing machine to take me fishing somewhere one of these days.. maybe i will make a video from AL soon
@ifishcatfish I have ordered allot of jig heads I the past. I live right in the tristates.... we fish Florida, Alabama & Georgia.. we can hit all 3 in the same body of water.. We cought some slabs in Lake Seminole Saturday. Richard Gene is in North Alabama.
I buy it solid tip abu after your review, i am very happy! Since then i buy it an major craft finetail and an tict(also solid tip)… I’m having to much ul… Btw, i live in Europe(Romania), no crappie, no bass. You will be surprised how many people outside US will follow your video! Keep it up man, I always enjoy your videos!
One of the reasons my channels doesn't make much money is that 55% of my views are NON US. But only US views make money on youtube... Well .. the other countries make some money too, but very little. I am very upset at your supreme court canceling the elections. I was rooting for that guy. I thought he would bring independence to your country. I wish someone like that could win in Bulgaria, but my country will never have independence
My favorite reel I bought this year was a made in Japan Abu Cardinal 3 reissue by Daysprout. Modernized 1970s spinning reel. Japan uses them for trout fishing mountain streams, I use them for the same purpose in Colorado. There are after market components available and the reels get customized beyond recognition. Highly recommend picking one up to try but I warn you it’s a deep rabbit hole.
i really have no time for new rabbit holes. Three years i live in TN and haven't gone catfishing even once.. This used to be a catfish channel.. and i keep saying i will go, but i always say next time
Very nice rod! I can't wait for the review to find out what Japanese rod you consider a do-it-all. I ordered the Cardiff after watching all your videos on the Vanford line. It should be here next week sometime. I can't wait!! 🎣
Your discussion of twitching resistance on the small tungsten jig head got me thinking. Resistance is likely a combination of inertia and geometric water resistance. I would have thought that inertia was the larger contributor. However, your observations lead me to believe I may have under-appreciated the water resistance. I understand your BG1 head shape better now. Thanks!
Any chance you can make a video going into details about solid tip vs tubular tip? I know you’ve mentioned them quite a bit in your videos but maybe an action comparison between some of your rods. Newbie question but how do you tell them apart visually? Thanks!
well i did that quite recently.. its not gona look good to do it again so soon. Maybe in a year or so.. the other folks will get annoyed. Just search my channel for Rod Action
Nice fishing spot for a cold day. What part of the model number tells you it is a tubular tip? I looked at some of the rods but it was not clear in the description what kind of tip they have. But I agree the tubular tip is by far better and more sensitive.
Usually S or T in the model designates the tip. But to Abu's credit, on their website they have stated that very clearly. I will put the link in the next video..
Yes I love those gloves I got from you. They do keep me warm in cold weather and it’s easy for me too put my heavier gloves on when needed “with your gloves on” it’s like sock gloves.🐟on
Thanks for the video Victor. Yes definitely chilly out. Did you happen to find a new handle for your 23 Cardiff XR? Hopefully you’ll get those fingers warmed up!
I have a very similar experience with purchasing products. My taste is so particular that the things that I'm interested in just don't go on sale. I just get the product as soon as I can afford it. ...The only lures that I'm having ANY luck with are LarvaZ on a 1.25g BG-1, #12 hook, my 40 year old Toledo Tackle Craw on a BG-1, #12 hook and a Rebel Tracdown, 1 5/8 inch, 3/32 oz. minnow using it as a jerk bait.
That's a nice looking rod! By design it looks similar to the the real finesse prototype,It has the TAF + 40x + t1100g material. Does it feel like that as well? When you say this is a twitch specialist, does that mean it's similar to an Ajing rod?
twitch specialist means stiffer first half and a very sharp tip, no wobble at all, so u can impart tiny twitches very easy. I don't feel anything new in the blank compared to the old one. I will do proper review on the table later, just fishing now to form a better opinion
Hey Viktor, thanks for the great video :) i found these Diplomat Rods here in Slovakia, do you mind to share the specs of the rod, like the lenght of the rod and gr action of the rod? the combo looks amazing by the way! ^^
above freezing temps these protect my skin from getting red and dry from the cold. Of course this is not real winter like in canada or MN. I would say in temps from 32 to 50 u can still fish them.. But i will see what fingers are really needed for fishing and maybe close the rest
well.. this rod costs twice as much... i don't want to compare them... i don't think its appropriate.. Every component on this rod is of higher quality, but thats not impressive when it costs double. Now if they cost the same and one rod has better components - then it means somethig
If u have problem with line memory i don't want to give u recommendation. My lines all have bad attitude. Maybe nylon or braid if memory bothers u so much. Keep in mind that the thicker the line the more the memory. Thin line doesn't have much memory. Do u really need 10 pounds? I did all of my carp fishing with 8 pounds. These are the things to consider first. Changing brands will change nothing.

yup.. u got it.. thats how i felt on the water too
Thnx Guy! Just ordered 2 pair of gloves.
leave a comment after ur first trip with them!

Cardiff is amazing and easy to work

I can tell from your comment you got everything and i don't need to elaborate
Man that's a good looking rod. Great to see that Abu Garcia is offering a non-ugly stick tip. Great review.
yes : ) - non Ugly stick tip : )

Hard core fishing at that temp
Enjoy your new toy bro. Looks bad ass that's forsure 👌🏾 🎣
thanks buddy. Fewer and fewer joys in life when we get old..
There's just something about fishing gear that tickles my funny that's forsure

also.. life is too short.. Two years later it might be 50% off but i want it now

Winter fishing gloves is a great idea. Tried fishing this morning but my hand hurts 🥶 🎣

I like you, you hate solid tips:)
nothing wrong with that
How does it feel compared to the tubular Bellezza UX?

What is your favorite line in the 4 to 10lb line. I have vanish flurocarbon line on my spinning reel but lots of memory. Any recommendation?

Is the nylon line as strong as the fluorocarbon or copolymer line? What is your favorite nylon line Vic?
Hello. Vanford old model or Abu Garcia Revo MGX for ul?
Vanford Old model.
