🤗Hello! You describe perfectly what singing with emotion is. This is very intelligently put. You are so right about technically amazing singers w/amazing range.., but somehow they do not make you feel anything. It is sad, so many great voices just fly me by. What could they do if they did what this girl does. Angelina study the meaning of the lyrics first, and then uses her voice to portray. I suspect it is not easy, and therefore we do not see singers like Angelina more often than twice in a century. She is very, very special . In addition , she has a texture in her voice that grabs you in after 2 seconds, so however she sings you are hooked. This is not a commercial singer, so your work is very much appreciated. F. ex I did not know that she did this song. Her rendition of ‘Heal the world’, and this, is really something ppl would appreciate and need, in these times of after-Covid and war in Europe. Thank you.
Hi Chris. Like you said, we're not talking about range here. It's not about who can "belt higher", It's about SOUL, HEART, EMOTIONS. Some of'em can, maybe, reach half an octave higher ( though no female singer can drop as low as she does) but no one can match the emotional impact she has on the listener. We know that. Love to you and all the Angels. 👍👏❤️🤩😉
Angelina Jordan is the only singer that can make me say, "Ouch!" Others can to some degree make me a little bit teary eyed but it's only Angelina that can make me wince.... with crushing emotion. Amazing.
Great review once again Chris. Totally agree with you in my 71 years I have never been so emotionally moved constantly by any singer as I have Been moved by Angelina's singing.
Chris, without a doubt a performance which will leave a listener in stunned silence. It was beautifully sung by Angelina. She had a cold and it was suggested she should cancel her engagement to perform at this charity event but she insisted she felt okay and didn't want to miss the opportunity to take part in an event which meant a lot to her. Child bullying was a topic which was being addressed. The "crack" in her voice when she was belting out that phrase was probably because of her cold. When you listen to the video again you can tell she's a little bit more nasal than usual. But, that crack was the most beautiful and heart wrenching crack I have ever heard in my life. Chris, you spoke about how she was moving her feet. And, how about her facial expressions during the song? She was singing us a story and she was making it very clear she wanted everyone there to know how strongly she felt about supporting people in need. Those couple of camera shots at the audience gave us an idea of who was attending this event. That event was about 8 years ago and I'll bet if you went up to any of those people in attendance that night and asked them if they remember Angelina they would tell you, "Are you kidding? I will never forget that moment when she sang for us. I can remember it like it was yesterday!" Angelina, the one and only.
An absolute heart warming, heartfelt right into your soul performance here from this little girl, you can tell she meant every single word of this song and it came straight from her heart. Agree Chris...best version and one of my all time favorites from the Angel of Music. Thanks for another wonderful time sharing the incredible vocal beauty of this young lady...at every age. So happy to be alive to witness one of the greatest artists in decades and decades.
For a good moovie, you have the first five minutes to captivate attention of the public, they call that "the hook". In Angélina's voice, you just need the first five seconds, sometimes less, sometimes the fisrst word, to be captivated !! And it's the same miracle for every song of Angelina, she makes us so happy again and again. Merci jolie et talentueuse Angelina d'illuminer ainsi ma vie.
She actually had a sore throat and a fever she had performed outside for another concert and it was quite cold and she was barefoot. She didn't want to cancel the concert and disappoint her fans.
Her emotion, her passion that she projects in this always gets to me, and her determination to bring it in spite of her physical issues at the time. Yes you can hear the clogged sinuses and the cracks in the voice, but honestly, that just adds to the passion. You really get the sense that she fully MEANS what she is singing there.
For me, it is also the best version ever and in my top ten of Angelina. The first time I listened to it I've got tears in my eyes. That crack in her voice makes her interpretation ever more emotional, more authentic, and absolutely unique.
You are 100% correct. As far as technical she had a cold from singing outside a few days before on the Peace Prize performance. She insisted on still singing for this charity. Great information on leaving comments etc to support our favorite artists and reactors. Thank you
She was very little. 8 years old. That alone is impressive. And I believe she had a cold. Anyway, I agree with you. She is not only singing the song, she is giving the listener so much more. And at this early age she already understood how to convey emotions to the listener. I will always follow her. I'll be there no matter how her future plays out.
Chris, this was a memorable video that you produced. Angelina at 8 years old, a master vocalist, but most importantly a master storyteller. Emotion and the story go together. There are many other songs where Angelina displays great emotion and tells an incredible story. One that stands out is the very first I ever heard from her and that is a million years ago by Adele. She was just pouring her heart out as if she had experienced the events in the lyrics of that song, even though she hadn't. Your support of Angelina was impeccable. I loved the screen graphics and text boxes as well as your verbal education of your viewers. One thing I would add is that the guidelines you mentioned for reaction channels and artist support, should apply to Angelina and all aspiring artists. Ideally we would like to see the reactor community enhance the way they do things currently on an expanded level. I think they are more likely to comply if they believe the guidelines apply to all their young artists. Thanks so much Chris for your work on this.
This is her most heartbreaking. As a swede I recognize a lot of singers, artists, celebrities and even the prime minster at the time in the audience. But it doesn"t matter at all.
I read that she was sick but still wanted to perform for this charity event. They said this is why her tone is very different from usual. Also the "cracks" in her voice. Even being sick, some rate this in their top 10. The "horse" voice seems to give it extra emotion. Keep reacting 🍁
There is a difference between singing a song and telling a story. Angelina differentiates herself from other singers because she is a true storyteller. Another reactor/vocal coach once said that Angelina has "perfect imperfections", meaning that any imperfections that occur in a performance are there because communication isn't perfect and it is in the imperfections that we see the personality and uniqueness of an individual. Angelina is authentically communicating the story of the song, not just trying to be a "perfect" singer. This is one of her greatest characteristics. Great reaction/discussion.
Angelina was wise enough to know how important her performance would be to help raise money for children, and how she performed shows where her heart was and is.Beautiful job on this one Chris, thank you.
This has always been at the very top of my favorites (from anyone) since I first heard it more than 5 years ago. I know she is great at conveying emotions in a song/performance but this transcends that, to me. I think that's because she doesn't seem to be trying to convey any emotions as much as she is embodying the message in its totality. I'm not sure that makes sense but, to me, she just IS this, in every way. I still get a lump in my throat when watching it. And, here, her age seems irrelevant. She's a cosmic force manifested on that stage. Something you can experience yet, not adequately describe.
You have expressed what I thought perfectly. She's not trying to do anything, she IS the song. Remember one of the judges prophetic words at her audition on Norway's Got Talent, "You are music."
Here you have a comment Chris. LOL . For me it is one of my favorits from her. It is so beautiful and hard felt and always brings tears to my eyes. I love the crack. Angelina with a cold, giving all she has. Love it.
Great reaction and analysis, Chris. An 8 year old with a cold sang this better than Michael Jackson or Mariah Carey. That speaks volumes about Angelina. She's the best at conveying emotions. And I still love that shirt!
The way AJ wraps her voice around your hand pulling you along with her on this walk to find love, is no less than genius. Knowing the message and how to make you feel what the lyrics are meant to do to you is her trademark. With AJ it's not just the story but also how she tells the story that makes it all so special. Thank you for highlighting why Angelina is so respected by us all.
Hi Chris. Thank you for re-visiting Angelina's version of "I'll Be There". It may "probably" be in your all-time top 10, but this, by far, is my favorite cover by Angelina to date and that speaks volumes about the emotion she brings to this song. Very few artists can reduce me to tears, but for Angelina, at eight years old, is sing this song. From one big Angie fan to another, cheers!
Hi brother!! i just reacted also to this one.. and i will be uploading that one soon.. i love also your reaction... and you are one of the best fan of Angelina that i know... more power brother... see you again
What a true Angel to perform and commit whilst not being well and to give us such a beautiful and powerful heartfelt performance. This version touches my heart and soul more than any other song as you can feel it also coming from her heart and soul.
We believe what she is singing, the best storyteller. She's there when someone needs her. It's a strong commitment, especially for children. Hope we will see more of it on her new Album. She talked she has written some Songs for her nieces 💞✌️💖
It dawned on my while listening to this moving performance again, that Angelina's passion is coming from her desire to help the children that would benefit from the money raised at this event. I have no doubt that the money raised for charity increased as a result of her very emotional performance. This event was during the holiday season in 2014, during which Angelina gave a number of performances that helped raise money for charity, along with her performance at the Nobel Peace Prize concert for children.
The technical non-perfect/unpolished performance even makes this stronger because of its lyrics and Angelinas emotional singing. Hopefully future studio productions will keep some of that - in any case we know Angelina can't help singing without expressing emotions.
BigAngieFan Angelina jordan was actually sick with a fever and a cold when she performed this song for that event. They even gave her the option to not perform but she refused because of her promise to charitable work for children. What a professional she was even at such a young age. JUST WOW!!
It definitely is the emotional connection that sets Angelina apart from other great singers. I still tear up when i watch her perform Bohemian Rhapsody even though i've watched it hundreds of times. Ditto to Million Miles, You were Always on My Mind , and this version of I'll Be There.
Same here with "Bohemian Rhapsody". And "Always On My Mind " makes me tear up before she even starts singing, she looks so sad. Angelina is truly a unique performer.
A member of our fan club educated us on this song. Two of the things that make this song so emotional is that she slowed it down and dropped it into a minor key. Always more somber. Then add her voice clearly fighting a cold from performing outside during the Nobel Peace concert prior to this recording. So emotional. I choke up on that crack every time.
I totally agree with you. It's more than evident that her voice was damaged, but the emotion that she exudes gave me chills. Technically not her best performance due to the cold she was suffering from, but bless her imperfection.
Love everything about Angelina. As if she came from the past to show everyone, this is how it should be sung. Also, the dictionary has to add more adjectives to discribe Angelina.

I just adore and love this child and her music ❣❣❣
Since I’ve discovered Angelina I haven’t listened to anything else. Love this song from a little girl who knows exactly how to sing like no other.
Angelina is a living Valentine from when she born to the present and into the future ❤️

AJ is unbeatable at any age...Her voice just takes ones heart to a place like no one else. and Angelina moves the heart as no else ever has.
Angelina was sick on this particular day. No matter what she touches my heart every time. Love her ❤️

A million years ago has it all; full of emotion but also the vocals are astonishing
@@BigAngieFan808 agreed!

you are right .your comment is very educative. now i knew why i cry everytime i listen her song.

Beautiful reaction, Chris and heartfelt too 🥲

One of her very best at that age bracket. So heartwarming. I have played it over and over thru the years.

angelina is rhe erry best.i love to lissen to here singing,
Angelina Jordan Astar, this sweet little norwegian girl (now 16 y old) is imo the best singer on this planet! 🤩
A member of our fan club educated us on this song. Two of the things that make this song so emotional is that she slowed it down and dropped it into a minor key. Always more somber. Although she was sick she did a fantastic personal interaction and my favourite MJ song!❤
The fact that she is singing at a benefit for people that were being honored for heroic deeds, Angelina took this song from a different angle than Michael Jackson. Michael took it from a love perspective and Angelina took it from a perspective of saving someone from a catastrophe which is why there is a crack in her voice.
That day she was performing being sick I heard from her uncle on another video taken by him few months ago
Are you kidding......it's now years later and zillions of accolades later, but I'm still cryin' like a baby.
Great reaction, I think she had a cold during this performance and I think her tool box is bigger than Mariah's, for she can't get as low for one thing, God Bless!

🙂
she was suffering that day, but insisted on singing, given the importance of the event
This is obviously one of her many charity concerts.
Chris, did you ever catch the video when Angelina had the chicken pox? Gut wrenching and inspiring at the same time.
yes that was a good one
Yes, that one is great, and she was adorable then!

Not sure if you mentioned that she was quite ill during this performance a testament to her talent and dedication. Of course it effected the technical quality of the performance, but its still was wonderful and emotional.
About some of Angelina's cracks and vocal difficulty here.
Angelina was very ill before this performance but still determined to sing for charity.
Even her crack is beautiful💖
she had a cold here.
Thanks Chris. I'm Zen 👍
Unfortunately, she caught a cold shortly before the performance and her voice broke off in 2-3 places. But despite the circumstances, it was a good performance.
