Light gun games on PS2 is where it's AT! One of the reasons why I started seeking out CRT's is because of the light gun games. Now I've got 8 CRT's stashed away in every nook and cranny of the house...it's borderline sick. Some great editing there Robert! The PlayStation 2 outro at the end was a nice touch.
Can you tell me which CRTs are the most modern / big ones on which I can play with the PS2 + Lightguns? Cause somehow I want to start that project on buying a PS2 with a CRT lol.
Light gun games are already niche, but we're going even deeper. There is a reason to have the fat model (only some of the early ones) of PS2 for light gun games, and it's that port next to the USB ports called the S400 port (the model you guys showed has it). If you have 2 PS2s with that port, two copies of the game, two CRTs, and an i-link cable, you can play system link on Time Crisis 2, Time Crisis 3, and Vampire Night (plus some other non-lightgun games like TimeSplitters 2, Unreal Tournament, and the Armored Cores) so that you can both play on your own screen while playing coop, which for Time Crisis 3 is pretty much required because they put your viewpoints side by side, so unless your TV weighs 400 lbs, you can't see shit haha. Great video guys, I hadn't heard of that MadCatz gun before I'll have to check it out. Light-gun games were most of what I would play in the arcades so finding out I could have them at home was a game-changer. Plus, the games and guns are cheap, and if you don't have a CRT I guarantee you can find someone who will just give you their old one.
I had that setup before. Two PS2s hooked up with iLink. 14" CRTs, two GC2s. Time Crisis 3. A great deal of fun while it lasted. I'm eyeing modern solutions (current LCD, OLED tvs), such as Sinden Lightgun or Gun4IR. I still have my PS3 with two Sharpshooters/Move controllers, for that occasional HOTD fix.
Not everyone agrees with emulation, but I installed free mcboot and opl on my ps2. Allows me to play these PAL exclusive light gun games. Gunfighter 2, Death Crimson 2 and Virtua Cop Elite (1&2). Loads of fun! Cheers
As a resident evil and light gun die hard, re dead aim and re survivor are must haves. Also loving the light gun series. Would love to see more light gun videos for sure!
I love that you guys play on OG hardware as I am the same way. All my old consoles work flawlessly except my PS2 which is starting to have disc read/laser issues that I need to address at some point. Keep up the great work, love the channel
One thing about the Wii and light gun games is you can run emulation on it…and play Genesis, Sega CD, SNES, NES light gun games on a modern TV. Maybe even Mame, but I haven’t tested that out yet. It’s pretty strong library of native Wii LG games too. I have a CRT, and the MC gun, Saturn Stunner, Genesis Justifier, love em all.
I remember when HD CRTs hit the market and I was really excited. Then I heard they had issues with light gun games and I was 100% out. Love my Light gun games and thank you for mentioning how the Wii is not a true Light gun. Best video this year for me. Take Care guys, and keep gaming.
Having trouble running Lethal Enforcers 1+2 on PS1 with the MadCatz Blaster. It's wildly inaccurate. One moment it's spot on, next it's 3-4 inchs off. I can't hit anything in the top 1/4 of the TV. I've tried to calibrate, and it just hits all over between shots. Have you guys tried this game with the blaster...any tips? Or maybe it's just not a good combo between the game and lightgun.
I have the slim PS2 and 2 MadCatz Blasters. For PS2 games, you only need to plug in the USB portion. I discovered this while playing Time Crisis 2, if you plug in just the traditional controller port and are in GunCon1 mode, you have less buttons to work with (check the button configuration menu) if you plug in just the USB and are in GunCon2 mode, you get to utilize all the other buttons on the MadCatz Blaster. I know MadCatz gets a bad rap, but the blasters get the job done.
Little known fact about time crisis is you can plug a controller into port 2 and use it as a foot pedal. Any button works. That’s how I do it and it’s perfect for me
The only Lightgun game I have for PlayStation is Area 51 for PS1. But if I could get an actual lightgun for it at a decent price, just that one game would probably be worth it. I'll have to check eBay at some point for that.
Super helpful video had no clue about mad catz blaster. Enjoy lightgun games on ps1 but literally forgot about it for ps2 for some reason. Thanks for the education gentlemen.
I was waiting for this video, I have all the on Rails games and the two Namco guns for the PS2, they are amazing! but I'm missing the PS1 games, with that info about Mad Catz light gun I'm going to make sure to change that! Thank you again, awesome video like always.... cheers 🍻🕹🎮🤘
I definitely need to get some light gun games in my collection! Hearing about that MadCatz gun really has me wanting to scratch that itch now. Great video! Cheers!
Hey guys the Hip Gear Guncon that comes with Dead Aim 2 is also compatible with GunCon 1, GunCon 2 and the Konami gun on PS1. I have one and it's great and I don't think it's that much more expensive than the Blaster. I do want that Mad Catz Blaster to try it out though, haha.
no clue there were great ps2 gun options. well, this requires my attention now. thank you, you fine gentlemen. quick sidebar, I spent all of 05 in Iraq and rocked the ps2 slim. that thing survived the heat, sandstorms and long play the whole year. sold it with the tv when I left. but zero issues during my time with it.
My experience with light gun games is mostly on the Wii. I really wanna try to PS3 move to play Time Crisis Razing Storm and house of the dead. I would try PS2, but adding a CRT isn't very feasible for me :(
If you have a controller plugged into player 2 port, every single button on that controller acts like the foot switch for time crisis. So I use an old controller as my foot switch….reloading without moving your hands completely changes the feel, playing two gun mode is so freaking good. You do have to set player 1 reload to release and player 2 reload to press, to have the foot switch trigger for both p1&p2 in two gun mode.
Wow. My fat og ps2 still works like a champ. Same with my xbox 360. Never had any problems with either. Anyway, I never played lightgun on ps2. I'm very intrigued! Time to spend some money!!
Correction: A Sinden Lightgun does NOT cost $400, it costs $96 ($152 for the recoil version) before shipping. I own one and extremely happy with it. its true the ultimate best experience is playing with original hardware on CRT monitors, but not everyone has space for the whole setup. so the sinden lightgun gives a very good solution and works extremely well.
Man u hit me with the mad cats I had no clue I use a nyco witch is super accurate but no d bad or joy stick been waiting for this episode an yall delivered love seeing people represent light guns..keep kicking ass guys
I have the Mad Catz Blaster for the OG Xbox (not that it really matters lol) I'll have to wait for a deal on the PS2 version. I would say that the only thing the Sinden guns excel at is playing arcade exclusive light gun games through MAME. Other than that, you're not gonna get the experience you do on a PS2 and CRT. There's will never be a replacement for that...I mean, I hope some new tech comes out, but I'm not holding my breath.
Guys instead of using a pedal you can use your controller with you foot since guncon 2 hooks up with the usb! There was a gostbusters game in pal region that I wish we would have got. Good video guys
Wow! Thanks for the Mad Catz nugget. I just scooped one up and went that route so I get a two-fer: be able to play Project Horned Owl again and to play 2-player Point Blank games with my GunCon 1. So pumped! Cheers
I read through the comments, did anyone mention that you can plug a controller into the appropriate port and in time crisis 2 at least all the buttons on it map out as a pedal, so step on controller for pedal function edit: while the guncon 2 is connected
I took the plunge and looked for a mas catz blue blaster and I had one on my watch list. Then OH NO! Someone bought it, and then I couldn’t find any others on eBay! Then magically the gun was RELISTED! So I took the plunge and bought it. It’s coming next week. Is the dreamcast light gun worth it?
Oh man you guys may have sold me on taking the plunge. I've got the CRT and PS2, none of the games or guns though. My roommate and I played the hell out of House of the Dead and Confidential Mission on the Dreamcast back in the day, but I haven't played any light gun games since. Great video as always, thanks for the info!
On a bit of a tangent: I bought some NES zappers that don't work on the Hyperkin. I don't have an original Nintendo to test them on that. I'm wondering if I should get an original Nintendo or a Hyperkin zapper.
Excellent! I love lightgun games and have been getting into PS2 lately. Think i am going to do a free mcboot rig. I also just picked up a couple ps3 Move sets so plan to look into the PS3 "light gun" games next.
Police 24/7 is amazing, needs the justifier and a specific webcam (list of working webcams on the wiki) to let you duck for cover with your body motion instead of a button. Sounds like it must’ve been crappy execution because no one seems to have heard of it, but if you have the right gun and compatible webcam, it’s so freaking good. Works better than any eye toy game.
I have the game Time Crisis crisis zone and it's fantastic, beautiful graphics, gameplay is excellent lots of action and you have to use a shield on this game.
How do people send you beers? I mean is their proper packaging to keep it cold or how's that work? God some pretty good breweries down here in Phoenix.
I didn’t even know the Mad Catz gun existed. I’ve picked up both the Guncon 1 and 2 for cheap, but the Madz Catz looks like a good option for me to get in case I wanna play coop on a game compatible with only one of the Guncons.
Awesome vid i already owned most of these but got Ninja Assassin and Endworld based on your info. Scored them for $110 for both Brand New Sealed few weeks back gonna crack em open soon and hopefully enjoy.
This is a great, informative video. I've got a little retro setup already with my PS2 and N64 hooked up to a CRT TV, so all I really need is the mad catz gun controller and to find a few games and I'm good to go.
yowsers no mention of the Virtua Cop series which is excellent on the PS2 and Gcon2 compatible. I loves my PS2 lightgun games, we have regular challenges on the TC2 mini games.
Mad Catz blaster is what I have X2. Love playing games on ps1 and p2 with my son having two of these. FYI, it DOES NOT WORK with Project Horned Owl sadly
@@GamingOffTheGrid only halfway there (GC1 level compatibility) but the Innovation Jolt gun (super jolt) has a foot pedal and a slider with kickback, but sadly won't work on the TC PS2 titles as they shifted to GC2. Also super expensive now a days. ua-cam.com/video/bKGByxPoNqI/v-deo.html
Never heard of End Game before but now I need to find that and still hunting for Ninja Assault. I’m hoping in the next year to build a cabinet with many consoles dedicated to just light gun games. Great video! Cheers 🍻
Totally you'll wanna get Virtua Cop Rebirth and Gun Survior 2 : Code Veronica, they're worth the import. I like the black Guncon 2's better than the ugly orange ones, they work just the same too.
On my way now to pick up a guncon 2! Can't wait to enjoy these with my 9 year old son. Still got my original ps2 slim and grabbed a free sony trinitron wega a few years back. Currently enjoying Champions of Norrath. Cheers
I only own Vampire Night & Dead Aim for PS2, got em new at the time. I actually got the big box for VN & a second GunCon2 but I dunno where my big box or GunCons are at the moment. I used to love playing 2p Vampire Night with my friend, Dead Aim was fun for what it was. I might pick up the Time Crisis games at some point but I have no plans on doing any light gun stuff any time soon. Think I might even have a DC light gun, I'd have to check my 50 gal bin of DC stuff some time. I do have House of the Dead 2 so...
@@GamingOffTheGrid The bin's just buried under a bunch of stuff. Fingers crossed my memory is correct. I actually picked up a DC fishing pole controller this summer from a tag sale. Now I need a fishing game...
2 years ago, i started my light-gun subset. As a result i own a comprehensive collection on Ps1, Ps2, OG Xbox, Saturn and Dreamcast! It is a very funny goal to achieve and both hardware and softwares remain quite accessible! I would say that my nicest items are Silent Scope Complete on OG Xbox and Confidential Mission on Dreamcast. Of course i found all the important games like House of the Dead, Time Crisis, Dino Stalker, Vampire Night, etc… I think that the many Rail Shooters of the Wii can fall into that « light-Gun » category, even though the technology is different, the feeling is the same! Life is short! Play video games!
I love light gun games, LOVE them. But I’m still surprised people are willing to get a CRT to experience those games. I just thank God for the Wii: the console that allows you to play shooters without having a 40 pound 30” TV to lug around.
@@GamingOffTheGrid You guys do the CRT thing. Me, the moment I shoved my old CRT off a bridge was the day I was liberated from that god damn thing. I’m never going back.
@@GamingOffTheGrid Don’t get me wrong. If I were to stumble into a pad like y’all’s and see Time Crisis set up and ready to go, I’d grab that gun so quick it would make your head spin. I’ve just got too much trauma related to CRTs. No joke, I’ve broken my hand having one dropped on it. I’ve also seriously strained my back moving them on several occasions. Lot of PTSD there.
You can actually use a PS1/2 controller on Time Crisis as a pedal lol! Wouldn't recommend stomping on it but it's fun if you're sitting on the couch gently pressing the buttons with a toe 🤷♂️ Not sure if that works with the PS1 Time Crisis games but I just tried it with TC3 the other day.
I have the hip gear lightgun its pretty fun because it can do the switch between guncon 1 and 2 but also normal. It also had a moving slide some cheaty feature like full auto and a very comfy grip
What a Great Video. Huge fan of the genre since the old days. And on the PS2 slim comment, you're absolutely right, the Slim is way better. Still have my original slim since the 2000s. The slim is definitely the best version.
They missed one of my favorite Lightguns for PS1 and 2 cybergun micro uzi ps2! The handling of time crisis is awesome as the button for crouch and shoot is up front. There's also a shoulder stock extension. Ebay has them.
Good video. I game on solar power and I'm curious if you really are "off grid" in the true definition of the label or is it just that you guys prefer playing games without using the internet?
Thanks for the reply. It's just that off grid means not being connected to public utilities (electric, water, gas). I promise I'm not hating, I'm just confused by your channel name. I prefer couch co-op and offline gaming too. I look forward to binging your backlog. Cheers :)
Great video, I absolutely adore light gun games even as a kid. I have the time crisis games and vampire night but I’ll have to check out that ninja game. I forget if you mentioned it in the ps1 video but a time crisis game that goes under the radar is time crisis project Titian. I believe it’s the sequel to the bonus hotel campaign of the original game. It’s a must add to the collection. My original guncon 2 crapped out on me recently, I lose picture on the TV when I plug in the AV cable. Luckily I have another so I might check out that mad cats one for the second player and it’s compatibility.
So I bought a Madcatz Blaster, two Guncon2s, and a Guncon1. Now I’m seeing that the connector on my my Madcatz is a little faulty. Do you guys have any experience fixing cables? It tends to work fine if I hold the cable a certain way to keep it from wiggling.
I have done it before but by no means and expert. Really wish I could help. Hope you are enjoying the games. The PS2 is an absolute Light Gun Hammer! Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid Hoo boy. I’ve done repairs to controller cables before, but this MadCatz Blaster is tough. I opened it and it is a mess of wires inside. I would have to desolder everything, shorten the cables, and resolder to the PCBs (plural), and do it both for the USB and the PS controller cable (there’s two different ones). It is a big job. I’m just gonna take a jumbo rubber band and tie the cable to that thing that looks like a magazine so it doesn’t wobble and I can play.
So do you use composite or component when you play these? I use component on my PS2 and I have to change it to composite I think to play PS1 games so I was curious
Does the ps2 mad catz light gun blaster controller will work on all ps1 light gun games including guncon 1 games and PS1 Konami justifier light gun games like Area 51 too
Your right about the crt I have two a 27 inch Sony titantron and a 37 inch toshiba. I got a guncon 2 for 10 bucks a few years back. Just need light gun games. I also like using my flat screen that is a 1080 TV with the retrotink 5x. But I like having both bc my toshiba crt is component hookups and some games look better on crt like n64 games. Great video and love light gun games. Just need the dreamcast and ps1 light gun. Have the rest or most of them.
@@GamingOffTheGrid yeah for lightguns agree 100 percent. But just was saying in general but yeah never would do never do sengen one for flat panels. Nothing beats the og way of using light guns.
Question about the Guncon 2. If my PS2 is hooked up through YPbPr jacks, which one does the yellow video cable use as a passthrough? Or do I simply not bother with it and only use USB?
Ok, at least with the Mad Catz Blaster, I can confirm: just the USB plug if on PS2, and the yellow video cable passes through the GREEN jack on component.
can you play these games on fat 60 gb back compatible ps3 to ps2 version using the g-con 3 orange gun with sensors? I'm sure I read somewhere that is possible but not ps1 titles so a crt might be needed for ps1 stuff . Any one with a working OG console tested ? I have two that I need to repair but thinking sometimes they don't fully repair the ps3 as can be few issues so may just go crt and ps2 but looking around £250 ish for a setup and can skip ps1 stuff and stick to ps2 and ps3 with g-con 3 on fixed ps3 through hdmi and sensors . anyone with any knowledge be great to hear . What a channel guys !
I’ve never tried that but I highly doubt it. Great question though and I’ll test it out this weekend. I have all the necessary equipment to test this. If I don’t reply here by the end of the week shoot us an email. I’m very curious. At the time we filmed this I didn’t have a backwards compatible PS3 but……I do now. Cheers!🍻 retroffthegrid@gmail.com
Also another fun light gun game for two players is starsky and hutch. Not so fun one player, but two player can be great. One person drives and the other shoots. You can use a wheel and a light gun or just a controller instead of the wheel.
Fuck i just bought the original green justifier for 117 and now i see the blue blaster for 27 bucks wtf. I just found out by watching this that it acts as a justifier should i cancel the order or both. And does the mad katz have gunconn?
@@GamingOffTheGrid also the third party scorpian guncon 1 dosent work on a ps2 game time crisis or vamipire night i had trouble with the pedal button. Maybe only the gungunn2 works but i dont have one to try it out
Has anyone tried to use one of the early backwards compatible PS3 machines that can play PS1 & PS2 games to play light gun games? Does that work? Thanks in advance!
@@GamingOffTheGrid Thanks for the quick reply! I’m going to look for a backwards compatible PS3 anyway to help minimize the number of consoles I need set up. Man u hit me with the mad cats I had no clue I use a nyco witch is super accurate but no d bad or joy stick been waiting for this episode an yall delivered love seeing people represent light guns..keep kicking ass guys
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed! Cheers!
Great video. I'm gonna have to set up a gun wall for all the light guns I own after watching your guys light gun videos
That sounds awesome! That would look cool! Cheers!
Agreed the way it was intended to be played will always be the best! Cheers brotha!
Guys instead of using a pedal you can use your controller with you foot since guncon 2 hooks up with the usb! There was a gostbusters game in pal region that I wish we would have got. Good video guys
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed! Cheers!
You guys, absolutely my go to channel for gaming content, proper legends! Greetings from the UK 🤘🏻
Thanks! Appreciate the support and glad you enjoy our videos! Cheers!
Wow! Thanks for the Mad Catz nugget. I just scooped one up and went that route so I get a two-fer: be able to play Project Horned Owl again and to play 2-player Point Blank games with my GunCon 1. So pumped! Cheers
Hope you enjoy it man! Cheers!
I have a copy of endgame. Just need to get a light guy and crt now,lol
lol! You will enjoy it! Cheers!
I read through the comments, did anyone mention that you can plug a controller into the appropriate port and in time crisis 2 at least all the buttons on it map out as a pedal, so step on controller for pedal function
edit: while the guncon 2 is connected
They have and we didnt know and appreciate people telling us this! Cheers!
We think you would enjoy them if you did! Cheers brotha!
Excellent video guys! I’ve had my first PS2 for over 20 years and I never knew about collecting for the light gun!!! Consider me sold 🤑
Awesome man! Hope you have a blast with them like we do! Cheers!
On a bit of a tangent: I bought some NES zappers that don't work on the Hyperkin. I don't have an original Nintendo to test them on that. I'm wondering if I should get an original Nintendo or a Hyperkin zapper.
Id recommend buying the Hyperkin Zapper! Cheers!
Excellent! I love lightgun games and have been getting into PS2 lately. Think i am going to do a free mcboot rig. I also just picked up a couple ps3 Move sets so plan to look into the PS3 "light gun" games next.
ua-cam.com/video/kVEtUhiUc9c/v-deo.html heres our PS3 lightgun buying guide
Another PS2 lightgun game we had in Europe I am not sure if it released in the u.s.a. Is “Guncom 2”.If you Guys missed it..😉
Yep we own the bad boy! Great game! Cheers!
If you are playing co-op LG games you can use the FireWire port to connect the two fat ps2s for better quality.
I have the game Time Crisis crisis zone and it's fantastic, beautiful graphics, gameplay is excellent lots of action and you have to use a shield on this game.
We love it also! A timeless classic! Cheers!
How do people send you beers? I mean is their proper packaging to keep it cold or how's that work? God some pretty good breweries down here in Phoenix.
email us at retroffthegrid@gmail.com
I didn’t even know the Mad Catz gun existed. I’ve picked up both the Guncon 1 and 2 for cheap, but the Madz Catz looks like a good option for me to get in case I wanna play coop on a game compatible with only one of the Guncons.
It would be a good option for that! You will enjoy it! Cheers!
I have a B&O Avant tube TV.(with the glas screen) Do you think I am able to play Light gun games via Mad Catz Blast?
You should be able to! Never used that model but all CRTs were built to play lightgun games! Cheers!
I've had my Mad Katz gun for over 20 years and it still works great.
Awesome man! They do have long shelf lifes if you take care of them! Cheers!
Awesome! Been waiting for this one!💯
Glad you enjoyed it man! Cheers!
I still love playing Time Crisis 2 and 3 on 2 CRT's with system link in my garage. There's nothing like it.
I've never done this. I need to. Do you have to have 2 fat PS2's? If memory serves me the slim doesn't have the link cable slot.
Awesome vid i already owned most of these but got Ninja Assassin and Endworld based on your info. Scored them for $110 for both Brand New Sealed few weeks back gonna crack em open soon and hopefully enjoy.
Light guns are my life on every console 😂
We absolutely love them! It’s how the channel was started
My LED TV has RCA connectors (which is what I use for my PS2). So the light guns should still work, even if it's not a CRT TV), right?
Negative. HD TVs can’t run traditional light gun games. Even HD ready CRTs won’t work
This is a great, informative video. I've got a little retro setup already with my PS2 and N64 hooked up to a CRT TV, so all I really need is the mad catz gun controller and to find a few games and I'm good to go.
Sounds like a plan! You will enjoy! Cheers!
yowsers no mention of the Virtua Cop series which is excellent on the PS2 and Gcon2 compatible. I loves my PS2 lightgun games, we have regular challenges on the TC2 mini games.
We did mention it, but it was never released in the US, so we didn’t talk much about it
Mad Catz blaster is what I have X2. Love playing games on ps1 and p2 with my son having two of these. FYI, it DOES NOT WORK with Project Horned Owl sadly
It such a great light gun! We didnt know it didnt work for that game! Good to know! Cheers!
I wish they make a gun that has the slide moving back and forth like the actual Time Crisis gun. So far all of these feels like toys.
That would be so cool and if they did we would buy it day one! Cheers!
Do you guys have any interest in game hunting in Europe for those games games not released in the USA?
Maybe someday! We dont even have passports right now 😂! Cheers!
Never heard of End Game before but now I need to find that and still hunting for Ninja Assault. I’m hoping in the next year to build a cabinet with many consoles dedicated to just light gun games. Great video! Cheers 🍻
You will enjoy! That sounds like an awesome plan! Cheers!
Why do we not have a dedicated CRT for light gun games at the MO Game Con house? 2023, let's make it happen. Specifically some Time Crisis.
Sounds like a plan! It would be a great addition! Cheers!
Totally you'll wanna get Virtua Cop Rebirth and Gun Survior 2 : Code Veronica, they're worth the import. I like the black Guncon 2's better than the ugly orange ones, they work just the same too.
Both look great to us! We will check out your recommendations! Cheers!
Great game! Good luck finding the DC Gun! Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid The bin's just buried under a bunch of stuff. Fingers crossed my memory is correct.
I actually picked up a DC fishing pole controller this summer from a tag sale. Now I need a fishing game...
We actually never used the fishing pole! Be cool to try it out!
Big Ditch is a fantastic brewery! Their Hayburner is fantastic as well!
We will have to check that brew out! Cheers!
8:47 pause
my face when someone says they don’t have room for a CRT
😂! To each their own! Cheers!
True but there is smaller crts that arent heavy and games look great on them! Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid You guys do the CRT thing. Me, the moment I shoved my old CRT off a bridge was the day I was liberated from that god damn thing. I’m never going back.
Understandable!
They definitely strand the muscles!
Do a review of all different light guns for the ps2. I'd watch it.
That might be a possibility in the future! Cheers!
Yeah that is true! We were more speaking of the guns! Cheers!
Can also use a DDR mat if you have one lying around.
I had the same issue with the Gcon 2 and Endgame, got it working by plugging into the bottom usb port
Soon I have a complete playstation 2 PAL lightgun games/guns collection. Only Missing 2 games, thanks for the inspiration 🤘🏻
Hell ya!
I hope you do a similar episode on the PS3 and any backwards compatibility issues for PS2 light gun games.
Did one a couple years ago. Cheers 🍻
ua-cam.com/video/kVEtUhiUc9c/v-deo.html
Virtua Cop Elite Edition only had 1 & 2, not 3.
Thanks for the correction! Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid No problem guys. Great video as always btw!
Thanks!
The name was created for our love of couch co op gaming! Thats our favorite style! Cheers!
Yeah we love Project Titan! You will like the MadCatz! Cheers!
I have a Guncon 2 and Time Crisis 2 and 3. Hope to add more.
Great games! We love light gun games so we think you will enjoy more games! Cheers!
So do you use composite or component when you play these? I use component on my PS2 and I have to change it to composite I think to play PS1 games so I was curious
Either. The green component video plug (I believe) can be hooked through the gun con on both ps1 & ps2
@@GamingOffTheGrid good looking out man
Love these! I’m hyped
Thanks man! Glad you enjoy them! Cheers!
You guys are my go to on light gun games.
Awesome! Glad we can point you into the right direction! Cheers!
I love the Namco guncon2 I played resident evil dead aim on it. As a kid I played that game so many times, I even beat it in one day. Good times!
Such a great game! We love it! Cheers!
Good run through. Such a great system. One of the only PS1 and PS2 sets I collect now.
Its our favorite console so we agree with you! Cheers!
Does the ps2 mad catz light gun blaster controller will work on all ps1 light gun games including guncon 1 games and PS1 Konami justifier light gun games like Area 51 too
Correct. The Mad Catz Blaster is compatible with all
@@GamingOffTheGrid okay thanks for the information
I just ordered guns for the PS3. Can you play PS2 light gun games on a PS3?
If you PS3 is backwards compatible I believe you can but you need the PS2 guns.
100% CRTs is our preferred tv for lightguns! Doesnt look better any other way! Cheers!
I believe the red. It's been a minute since I've hooked it up though.
Cheers!🍻
retroffthegrid@gmail.com
Also another fun light gun game for two players is starsky and hutch. Not so fun one player, but two player can be great. One person drives and the other shoots. You can use a wheel and a light gun or just a controller instead of the wheel.
That sounds great! Will have to find that bad boy! Enjoyed the movie! Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid best on the Xbox with the Xbox version of that same madcatz light gun.
Thanks!
Fuck i just bought the original green justifier for 117 and now i see the blue blaster for 27 bucks wtf. I just found out by watching this that it acts as a justifier should i cancel the order or both. And does the mad katz have gunconn?
Blue blaster will get the job done! Justifer is better but with that difference might be more practical! Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid now i canceld it so honestly thinking of getting both. U said the justifiers is more accurate?
They are! Its not a huge difference!
@@GamingOffTheGrid also the third party scorpian guncon 1 dosent work on a ps2 game time crisis or vamipire night i had trouble with the pedal button. Maybe only the gungunn2 works but i dont have one to try it out
And i was scepticule getting the green justifier because i can play all those games on saturn except horned howl
Has anyone tried to use one of the early backwards compatible PS3 machines that can play PS1 & PS2 games to play light gun games?
Does that work?
Thanks in advance!
We haven’t but would be very curious to know if it works. My guess is no though hdmi but possibly component
@@GamingOffTheGrid
Thanks for the quick reply!
I’m going to look for a backwards compatible PS3 anyway to help minimize the number of consoles I need set up.
(I already have a Nintendo Wii version that can play GameCube games)
It’s gonna be a while for me to have everything to test my idea for myself. I do have a Sony Tritontron CRT TV.
I found a 30” CRT Sony Tritontron TV for sale that came with a factory HDMI port (that I guess I should’ve bought. 🤦♂️)
I just found your channel and subscribed tonight. I look forward to checking out more of your past and future videos!
Thanks for subbing! Appreciate the support!
In the uk it’s sorta better to get a sinden though to be fair crt tvs are 50£ for a small one and 100£ for 32 inch the sinden gun is 90 quid don’t know where you pulled 400$ from unless your thinking of the gun that the guy builds for you
I went one step further and put a hard drive in my modded PS2 and loaded all the gun games on it.
That would be pretty awesome! PS2 is full of bangers! Cheers!
