Hello. Why is it that self feed is not the best? I am trying to find a good design in order to have a machinist make me a good chipper. I appreciate your advice.
Excellent performing chipper and you've made a nice video. Note that the supplier's website for the WCX5 chipper indicates this machine will process 5" diameter wood, so I'm not sure why you're video states that 4" is maximum size. The BX42S chipper is the 4" model. Based on videos I've seen of that model, the WCX5 is noticeably higher performing in speed, power, and how well the "self-feeding" design functions.

Looks like a handy tool self feed isn't the best but could live with that. The tractor handle it well. Has me thinking about getting one. GW
