Max complexity drones. An idea for future restrictions could be forcing the use of inconvenient blocks, such as instead of normal 2×4 blocks and grid blocks, you have to use weight blocks, or for ground vehicles you have to use go kart wheels, etc.
I see Yzuei's point about the turret only having one contact point and thus an easy thing to take off but being able to target independently from the body enables Scrapman to shoot while still rounding corners, thus giving him first shot advantage. I think it would still have been a really good choice to have put in at least an azimuth rotor for the turret, a zenith could be a bit much to include.
Love it, could you consider trying no gyro, no seat control, realistic jet dogfight tournament with your friends?

Scrap figured out that only 1x1 of the 1x2dynamite actually explodes, knowing which end explodes could potentially make all future missile/torpedo builds more effective.
When I ran into the issue of the cannon shooting my own shield, I just made some logic that turned the shield off for a split second so the round could pass through.
I love how good at building stuff to match it in real life. As much as you guys do big battles , I think you should build a few of the vehicles from twisted metal , if u build em then u can make them be equal for the fights and of course they'd look sick
I bet the weird rocket collision was caused by them being on a different weld group than theshieldss.

@@ManySighs The rockets could articulate. They were on a separate part relative to the shield generators.
This may have contributed to the rockets detecting collisions against the energy shields.
You could limit weapons even more, like max 3 of each, so it's not so much about instakilling each other. Maybe ban shields if too much shielding vs limited weapons is a problem.

I feel like the issue of the single point of critical failure for a turret should be somewhat able to be avoided by being really creative with multiple rotors on the same axis. It will stay a low amount of critical failure points, but getting to 3-4 should be doable enough within the expectable size of a max complexity tank.
Only struggle might be turning radius if there are no blocks we can clip through our attachment points (don't fully remember how clipping stuff works within a creation in Trailmakers)
The big shields actually catch projectiles that would haave otherwise missed- effectively making them more fragile in the heat of battle.

This sounds like a great idea, with the best of intentions! What could possibly go wrong?
How about a mixed mode build. Mode 1 is quick and nimble but with few weapons active. Auto targeting is active.
Mode 2 is slow but has more active weapons. Auto targeting is disabled.
You can switch between modes during battle depending on what is happening.
If number of shields give that much of an advantage based on how many you have, you could do like max 5-10 shields?
Different type of battle, Max Complexity Anti Air vs Air Bombing Run. Lets you both or who ever joins get to build 2 different creations to handle 2 different situations.

Do a 3v3 World of Tanks style match. One Light Tank, Medium Tank, Big Tank. Rules could be something like Speed Limit, Size Limit, Weight Limit per classes.

Man Yzuei really doesn't know how to build for resilience, does he ? Low density, ineffective shielding, counterintuitive design (chose long poles that make his weapons miss a majority of the time).
Yzuei my man you have to remember that in trailmakers DENSITY = HEALTH AND POWER the denser you can make your vehicle the better
speed will get you nowhere. Also do not forget about armor blocks
For the shield collision with tickets you could pulse off the shields while you are shooting off the rockets then turn them back on after

Fights are way too quick, it's almost instakills and a race of how many laser gun are put on the build. Now they're limited to 10, but no limit overall for the weapons, so the shredding implied by this amount of guns is still here.
Maybe an idea will be to limit even more, like with 10 guns max. It'll let more space to creativity and will have more interesting fight where manual targeting of weapons will be a thing, instead of having to right click on target for 10s and done 😊
I think you were too slow to target him, he was mostly always first to shoot you and thus shreding you quickly.
