How to actually reduce landfill waste:
    Take care of your vacuums
Do proper maintenance on your vacuum
Repair your vacuums when repair is possible if vacuum is broken
Buy quality vacuums instead of disposable rubbish
Sell or give your vacuum to someone who needs it when you don't need it anymore instead of throwing it in the bin

Wow!! A cracking video Sam. My last bin find was a Dyson DC14 animal. It just needed filters and a deep clean and my eldest daughter is really happy with it.

    This channel is very interesting.
I don't collect vacuums, but I have an interest. I asked my boss whether I could take the broken Henry 240 out the skip. It had short circuited. All that had happened was the cable had become stressed and wires touched together. Rewired and good as new

I'm just glad that all the ones I cleaned out at work weren't anywhere near as bad as this one, although some had clearly seen some wet stuff, and naturally the lack of bags in them makes cleaning them out oh so lovely (even more so when there are probably 50+ machines).
Though my Dad said that he use to reckon that the price of a replacement Henry was less than the cost of using bags for the lifetime of the machine so used say to the cleaners he was involved with to not bother using bags.

Wow that’s the vacuums we had on the Exhibition stands , hated using those.
That looked as filthy as the Kirby G6!I refurbished last yr .
No the feeling of getting old , I hate wearing my glasses

Found a pink hetty a few months back inside a skip. In reasonable good condition. Took it back home plugged it in wall and to no surprises it worked. Bag inside looked like it never had been emptied in years full up to brim. Stripped it down. Removed the filter and pipe. Stuck the body parts inside Bath gave it a good cleaning. Threw filter and pipe in washer machine. Electrics worked fine. Switchers worked fine. Motor works fine. Plenty of power. Assembled back together as good as new. Used it in my brothers new house to clean up all mess left behind made by the old wooden laminate flooring and other rubbish filled bag up to brim five times. Emptied same bag reused 5 times. Then guess what happened I found 2 more ha ha unbelievable. 🙂

Can share my find in a bin please? I was delivering to a customer and as I do, I wanted to leave it somewhere safe. So I opted from one of the wheelie bins, and I couldn't believe my eyes. I saw the wand from a Dyson cordless. Out came the wand, with brush head, the vacuum and charger. Whoo hoo!
It doesn't like being on the max setting as it only lasts a few seconds, but it's comfortable on the lower setting. It works amazingly.
If there's a fix for the 'Max' problem please let me know, please? Thanks!
    Ps Sorry, it's a V7 😁

Nice to hear beko mines possibly a bit less than this but it's made me happy so today walking home and I find well I found it before I went but it made more sense to get it on the way back I found an Electrolux twister excel absolubtly dirty but after a while I'll get it working possibly clogged considering it's one of those bagless machines

Seems like I never find anything really good laying around. Did find a nice Kirby G3 about five years ago. Just needed a bag and belt as my best friend gave me his when he moved to a house with hardwood floors. His needed some work so I though great hopefully some good parts. It didn't need any work and his did. My last curb find was a Shark that the brush roll had and elongated the hole it popped into. Don't feel bad about glasses as I've worn them for 27 of 41 years.

Compared to when I was younger you don't see any now. Back when you could leave things like that out for the binmen I did a paper round so went out every bin day 3 hours earlier and got some cool stuff at least every week 😥 Now it's pure luck and chance and so rare it deserves a celebration when it happens 🎉😂

Oh and I'm used to the glasses now... So used to them I forgot I was wearing them the other night and fell asleep with them on... 😂

@@beko1987 I live in California and everything here has to be disposed of properly or recycled. Vaclab finds lots of stuff on the curb. Mostly $60 Bissell Powerforces.

Gah that sucks! Sort of the same in the UK now, if you leave a vac out on the street it's been flytipped! Can't buy from our tips either (used to get 5/6 dc01's at a time when younger and break them until I started learning 😂)

The cattle market one. It's not as good anymore, there used to be a small electrical bin there so more not-quite small electrical got dumped by it. Now that's all gone and unless I happen upon a flytip I don't see them
