- In Todays video, I bring you guys along as I take a look back at my old Camaro 1LE and go for a drive. Ive been wanting a bit more of an engaging drivers car than my corvette, with a manual and I wanted to see if it was a temporary thing or if I need to address the itch. Been behind the wheel of my 17 SS manual since new, 56k miles now. Been flawless. Love driving this car and wasting gas.
I've had many corvettes and my 69 Camaro Z/28 had a 572 1050hp but my 2022 SS1LE is so fun with all the crackin and poppin... mine has mufflers delete, headers, cold air with a tune... I LOVE IT!!!
The Corvette is the refined gangster in the room. Everyone knows the deal, and it commands respect without much of a fuss. The Camaro is the Corvette's reckless little brother. It talks trash and kicks ass at the drop of a hat.
Boy that damn sound...just the sound alone make you buy this car
Just picked up my 2018 2SS 6 speed and absolutely loving it. My first car and first personally owned standard. I have driven standards before but this is a totally different ball game. I am new to your channel and looking forward to watching some of our videos of the camaro. I am also in Texas too!

Dakota I agree with almost everything you said. In my opinion the Camaro beats out the Corvette, and the look on your face proves that. You just can't beat the engagement and connection you get with a manual, be it on a four wheeler all the way to a semi truck. Oh those FM roads are alot of fun!!! Just look out for tractors!
BTW hope you washed the Camaro before you took it back to your dad's..... got to rip on ya. Have a Happy New Year!!!

Camaro looks better than the C8 Stingray. The new C8 Z06 with the wider body looks a lot better than that Stingray.
a little trick for every Camaro owner out there, lower your back seats fully for more exhaust and crackles sound :), at the end you wanna hear what the people behind you are hearing XD.
I'm 42, 1st car was a Fox body 5.0 mustang in 1996, I was hooked on the first drive.. Owned that car for 5 years, and had 2 other Foxes after that one. Then I got a 2001 WS6 T/A, then a C5 Corvette, Then A C6 Corvette, then a 2017 Mustang GT PP1, and now a 2022 Camaro SS 1LE exactly like this one, Black.. Every single car I have owned has been Manual.. This Camaro 1LE is so far and above every car I have ever driven its freaking insane.. Its so engaging, such a hooligan, you really can half throttle it everywhere and ride the amazing torque wave.. The new Coyote is a great engine as I had a tvs supercharger installed and it was fast but was nothing like the Camaro.. I just love it.. I am keeping mine forever.. I won't say its my last car, but never getting rid of this animal.. I will eventually get a BTR Cam and intake, but thats really about all it needs. I love about a 500hp N/A car, and this chassis is sooo good and 500hp is all you need for the streets.. Great video..
I went from Camaro to a Vette, sold the Vette and now want a Camaro again. More fun

Comparing my Corvette C7 Z51 VS my 6th gen Camaro SS, both felt very similar in the handling department, just the Corvette felt more agile in the back, when I changed lanes at high speed. Also the driving sensation of the lower seating Vette felt amazing, but the higher seating in the Camaro is more natural, instead of dropping yourself to the low seat.
I actually was going for a C8 1lt Z51 with magnetic ride. With all the waiting on the vette ended up ordering a loaded 2022 2ss 1le with pdr. Couldn’t wait any longer for the vette and financially the camaro made more sense since i could get it without any payments. Love the manual transmission as well. Still would like to own a vette one day.
Nice! Don’t get me wrong, I love my corvette, but the 1LE is a lot more fun at “normal speeds” and it’s a lot more engaging. The corvette at least the regular stingray, (we’ll see if the ZO6 fixes it) is kinda boring (driving wise) unless your doing full throttle or launch control. Enjoy your car man!

Had c7 grandsport with full aero..... car was insane at full throttle through the twisties... totally dull in normal driving and around town... really looking forward to the new 22 vivid orange 1le that should be in my hands by the end of july.....
when did you order it.. Thinking of ordering a 2ss 1LE myself. How many months did u have to wait?
@@ianholmes8952 found it in transit from a local dealer delivery should be first week of august but i am not holding my breath its sitting waiting to ship from lansig oh. lot
seems like a most dealers are waiting on delivery i got 2-3 month quotes for ordering but this one was what i would have ordered put a deposit will be paying 1,000 over msrp but thats not to bad.... there are a couple of dealers in washington and utah that have one or two on the way at msrp.. good luck
Both the C7 GS & the 6th gen Camaro SS1LE are amazing handling cars. Throttle House did a comparison of both cars at the track.👍

I land in the same boat. We own a 718 cayman s with all the options and I also own a 2019 mx5 miata club convertible. My perspective it a little warped.
Not sure what part was better...the driving it out of the show room or the big smile on your face......counting endless days til I get that call !!..................wait a sec here, did you just drive off and left the C8 all by herself on empty road?
I had an 18 Whipple mustang with an A10. It was quick and fun. Your comment about sound is adjustable with aftermarket. The Camaro weighs more. With all the adjustability of the modes of the C8 I think you might be missing something. You can make the C8 pop. Not burble but pop on shifts. I like the 1LE but being an older guy that only drives 50 I prefer the C8. Kids like sound, Dad's like performance. With the rear engine you can drive the C8 pretty deep and pretty fast.
You can only make it pop on full throttle up shifts. True you can add en exhaust but the corvettes interior blocks out more sound. The Camaro is just more engaging. I love my C8 but it’s a lot softer of a car. MUCH faster in a straight line and can out the power down well due to it being mid engine but it’s not as playful. The Z06 should be more my “style”.

There's a huge fun factor difference of driving on a sport MT sport car VS an automatic transmission sport car.
I went from a C7 Corvette Z06 to a ZL1/1LE. Been 3 yrs already. Best.Decision.Ever.
I believe the ZL1 1LE has a very harsh suspension for the street.
I haven’t heard the LT2. Which engine is better? I have heard rumors that the next Camaro update or as it is known, the last gen Camaro may have the LT2 engine. If you were going to make a change for the channel now, I would go for a ZL1 1 LE. If you want to wait, I would see what Chevy will do for the 2023 model.
The LT2 is basically the same engine as the LT1. It’s just got some stuff moved around for the mid engine lay out and has a bit more power. I did a sound comparison between the 2 a while back. It’s mainly on the inside where the corvette is dramatically quieter. But I’m really leaning towards the Z06 because that seems to solve most of my complaints with my C8 (minus the manual obliviously).

@@havebluevette7485 from everything I’ve seen/read the Z06 looks like it should be more exciting. The mentioned specifically working on making it have more engine and exhaust noise inside and out and feel more of the vibration. Plus a NA V8 that revs to 8600RPM sounds amazing! I want one for sure but we’ll see how that goes

Strongly considering placing an order for a manual 2ss 1le in the near future. I do NOT plan to track it, instead, plan to use it as a weekend car for joyrides etc. Does anyone have advice as to if this is too much car/ not necessary getting the 1le package if it will not be taken to the track? I understand the package is intended for faster lap times but is it still worth it for daily driving? Looking for the best drivers car for under 50k and this seems to be the best out there. Also just started a job at GM so the employe discount will help take 3-4K off msrp. Any thoughts?
The 1LE is what will make it the best drivers car. And just keep the suspension in tour mode and it will be totally fine. It’s not a “hardcore” track car. Put it to you this way, I wouldn’t buy another Camaro SS if it didn’t have the 1LE package. Totally worth it man.

If you aren't planning to track it, an SS2 MT would be a great option for spirited driving. Just see the 16 MT H2H a Camaro SS beated a BMW M4 like it was nothing. The SS1LE is a very special Camaro if you are planning also to track it, it would be able to go H2H with more expensive euro sport cars.
How many miles on the car bro? Have you/pops had any clutch or transmission issues?
There’s about 8k miles on it now and nope. We’ve had zero issues with it. Still rock solid.
