Cool little unit. Nice screen and the alert feature is nice too
👀 Wohooo another new Toy for our Big Boy. What sweet digital SWR/PWR Meter. Happy Tuesday Fire Chief & tnx for the Video. 73 de YFUG 💯🙋♂
Super clean, love it
This will be a great addition to my mobile wet up. Nice.
Thanks Chuck. I picked up 2 of these and showed them in TOADS. Then someone said you did a video on them. Very nice. They are very nice.
That's pretty cool, Chuck. I like that style of meter better than the analog meters
i have had one for a couple of months now loving it stupid buy one its worth it !
I like it!
slick little meter Chuck.
Cool SWR meter!
cheapest method of getting forward Power , Reverse power is tap into radio's SWR bridge. I tapped into my FT-450 's SWR bridge, it produce around 4V at 100 watts level. can be done same things for VHF radio as well. no extra loss going through SWR meter connector, coax connection so on. AG6JU
You risk creating an unwanted attenuation stub tapping the bridge. It's best to sample the reflect from an inductive tap outside the circuit. If you tap the signal from the radios own meter signal that's safe enough.
Thanks for the video. I purchased one and wanted to see how it works before hooking it up. Intended use is for portable.
Thanks, Steve, k7ofg.
Nice review, for $45 it might be worth grabbing one (or a couple) of these!
Thanks for showing this! Glad it runs on batteries so I can keep the wall wart away during QSOs. Very impressed! 73, K7KS
Looks Awesome, I need something for my (TR)usdx qrp set. I think I found it😍🤩
I think I'll get one of these after I'm licensed. It's so small compared to i.e. a cross-needle SWR and power meter that I should have no trouble finding a place for it in my tiny shack and the display's easy enough to read too. (I don't think I really need a separate SWR/wattmeter that I know of, but still, it has the coolness factor.)
I like the price too. :)
been thinking about one of those, my radio can only display one meter at a time
New to all this. Will this measure the wattage/swr on a YAESU 2900 R 144-174 MHz
Theres a 200w pro version now too
if I have an swr reading on my radio screen, why would I need this?
Am I correct in assuming you were using an external tuner?
So I can use this for CB radio? Killer man. I'm there dude.
When I rains,my SWR will go down a tiny bit.
I noticed very large SWR variation during SSB transmission. Is this normal?
How are you making SWR go up?
Any chance of getting a manual?
Does anyone know of a QUIET wall wart to feed it? 73 DE W8LV BILL
Try a snap on ferrite on the output power lead going to the meter close to the end Wrap the wire around one side of the ferrite twice snap it together experiment with amount of wraps. once you are satisfied use some glue to hold it in place
I really needed to see how it performs on SSB pep?
It won't measure PEP accurately - the vast majority of digital meters are useless for PEP readings.
Have you found this meter to be accurate with HT (walkie-talkie) SWRs? So many good HT antennas get a bad rap with SWR meters. I also wish this meter would read frequencies. That would make this meter perfect! I love the color screen, though.
These are listed for 1.8-54MHz, so they won't be compatible with VHF/UHF HTs unfortunately.
This one may be pretty, but unless it's more accurate than the Surecom SW-102, the one thing that would make me stay/go with the Surecom is the frequency display. I have the Surecom SW-33 (which I love), but the SW-102 displays the incoming frequency display, which helped greatly when recording data from the Retevis RT-29 walkie-talkie and the Baofeng BF-888. I could never ID'ed those frequencies with the SW-33 or the CQV SWR-120. I love the colors with the latter, but also, the SWR 120 also won't work with as well with HTs as the Surecoms.
Not sure if you realize but the Surecom SW-120 is for UHF/VHF, the item he is showing is for HF
You're funny.... IF only you lifted the top off the bottom and swung it to the OTHER SIDE.... YUP, no need to disconnect the battery... How about reading PEP?? Thanks for the review.
Biggest problem with this meter and with these type of meters is, the display is much too small.
Nice unit THANKS! Just ordered mine. KO4UZU 73
Awesome! A beeping sound is better than smoke!🔥💨
