Data Governance: Digital Rights and Data Protection
Victor Ndede, a digital rights officer at Amnesty Kenya goes into detail about the Open Institute and Amnesty International Kenya joint project, outlining the expected impact, success and achievements of the project over the last four months. One of the key goals for the project is to ensure that the Kenya Data Protection Act is operationalised and have County governments appraise the Act at the county level. In addition, through the Restore Data Rights Declaration - a call to action for African governments, citizens and CSO's towards better data governance post-COVID - provides a guideline on what is the two organisations hope to achieve through the project.
