    I have one of these on a wing, running a 6040 KingKong prop, a 4s 1800mah Turnigy nano-tech battery and a 45Amp YEP ESC.
    I measured the thrust on a home-made rig and I'm getting 1420g of thrust @ 36A.
    They're a great motor.

    Sweet review, looking forward to seeing them in action.
    Only thing I would have liked would have been to see some numbers that compared it to the previous emax motors for those props you tested in your controlled setup.
    Anyways, awesome content. Keep it up!

    • @TheRCAddict
      @TheRCAddict  7 років тому

      Yeah, I would have done that, but all of my old emax motors are, well old. My magnets aren't are strong anymore after a year so numbers wouldn't be fair. I have done videos using the old emax motors if you want to check it out.

    Hello, it's a really nice video. I want to ask you about the lipo battery. I have the same motors for our FPV racing drone. But I really didn't catch what is "C". What can ı use as a lipo battery? It must be a 3S battery because my ESC supports only 3S so, My battery must supports 3s and a high "C" value. What do u think about the value of "C". Is 11.1 V 3S Lipo - Battery 2800 mAh 35C" enough for my FPV drone.

    Apparently the 2600kv version has an unusually high amount of torque.

    • @TheRCAddict
      @TheRCAddict  6 років тому

      I mean it's still a fine motor, especially for 2205, but I pretty much only use 2207 or 2306 now.

  • @anshusky5184

    Which prop will give longer flight time on 3s ?
    For longer flight time 2 blade prop is good or 3 blade?
    Total weight of drone qav 250 is about 900g with 6200 mah 3s 40c lipo.

  • @ehunter2010ed

    I would say these motors perform a litter better but if you already have v1 it's not worth swapping out. They also set lower than originals so if you have fat escs on top of arm might have issues.

    • @TheRCAddict
      @TheRCAddict  7 років тому

      Yes these are not a "oh my god, you have to upgrade!" but if you havent bought the motors yet I would certainly go for these.

    Great test - you showed the data in a very useful manner!
    I have a set of these behind me (first motors) and noticed how much force I need to twist the propellers down the shaft (and back up). Is this to be expected with the intended propellers (5mm mounting hole)?
    The propellers are Kingkong 5045x3, 5040x2 and some 5045x2 that came with my Martian 2 frame.

    • @TheRCAddict
      @TheRCAddict  7 років тому +1

      If the prop is cheaper, like a DAL of KingKong, I find sometimes the dimensions are the slightest bit off causing them to be super tight on the shaft. I have never had a problem with HQs not going on.

    • @Wind1000100
      @Wind1000100 7 років тому

      Alright, sweet. With that solid shaft, there's no way I'll accidently bend/damage it by carefully twisting the propellers on and off - correct?

    • @TheRCAddict
      @TheRCAddict  7 років тому +1

      Wind1000100 Yeah, practically impossible for you to bend the shaft by hand. Maybe throwing the quad against a wall haha

    • @Wind1000100
      @Wind1000100 7 років тому

      Thanks heaps of your help!
      I have one more question - how tight should the prop nut be? Significantly tighter than by hand or just a little bit, until it stops moving with not too much force?

    • @TheRCAddict
      @TheRCAddict  7 років тому +1

      Wind1000100 Tighten it as much as you can until it stops turning. If you can hold the motor and twist the prop at all try to get it tighter.

  • @icarusix8750
    @icarusix8750 7 років тому

    the 2600kv version just came on the miniquadtestbench site with more than 1500g thrust on a 5inch! And a comment was that despite the high kv, it had more than sufficiant torque... Your thoughts?

    • @TheRCAddict
      @TheRCAddict  7 років тому +1

      Yes, these motors are VERY torquey, so while the 2300kv will have more torque, the 2600 is still adequate. With over 1200g at only 29amps I am VERY happy with these as that is basically exactly what I was looking for in a motor.

    • @icarusix8750
      @icarusix8750 7 років тому

      The RCAddict the same reason im getting the 2300kv :) also nice vid(forgot to say) :D

  • @ezracer
    @ezracer 5 років тому

    How does high kv fly vs low kv? Im trying to do serious racing, and im trying to debate wheter to go 2600kv or 2300kv. 2600kv will be on hq props, and the 2300 will be on avan r flows. What do you think?

    • @TheRCAddict
      @TheRCAddict  5 років тому

      I mean it really depends on the rest of your setup, your skill level, and how you fly in general.

    • @ezracer
      @ezracer 5 років тому

      @@TheRCAddict I have it all planned out lol. I'm a beginner, but I bought a qx7 and velocidrone and I've been using that for two weeks, I'd say I can fly alright in acro. My setup will be :FC: CLracing f4
      ESC: racerstar rev35
      Frame: campfirequads cf-1
      Motors: dys samguks
      Camera: foxeer micro arrow
      Vtx: RDQ mach 2
      Reciver: frsky xm+
      I want to do racing, not really going to focus on freestyle, and the estimated dry weight will be about 300 grams. Probably a little more. I fly fast, and low to the ground, i dont do a lot of cruising. I was also thinking about getting the 2300kvs and running them on 5s, but im concerned about the motors exploding

    • @TheRCAddict
      @TheRCAddict  5 років тому

      Starting out that should be more than enough for you, especially flying a track. Turning and elevation changes make you slow way down.

    • @TheRCAddict

    compared with f60 t-motor ? are they close? or is it with a F40?

    • @TheRCAddict
      @TheRCAddict  7 років тому

      Well, that is not really fair as the F60 are 2306 2450kv I think haha. And F40 are 2305 2600kv. These are fantastic motors for their class.

    lol I just found two sets of these in a box Emax sent me a long time ago. I believe they are prototype versions because they are 2400kv.. I'm going to build me a QAV210 I have laying around and a QAV-XS that I never built.. they are going on those two builds right now.. I have a few Hyperlite F4 boards that need a home and some Littlebee 30a Blheli_S escs... just build me out two play around LOS builds.. Hell I may grab some 3mm carbon and the cbc router and make me a set of arms for the qav210 to clear 6 inch props. hell I have some Tattu 4s 1800 45c packs that sent me that I haven't used. yup I'm building me a 6in LOS build.

    Hi!
    ThanX for the great video.
    Question.. I just got the new littlebee favourites 20s amp esc's. Which would be the better match, the 2205s 2300kv or 2600kv?
    ThanQ in advance : ]

    • @TheRCAddict
      @TheRCAddict  7 років тому +1

      There is no "better" match for an esc I would say. I mean the 2300kv will pull less current and some will argue you need 30a escs for strogner motors or higher KVs, but I literally always fly 20a, and just yesterday put several flights through on these RS2205S 2600kv with DAL cyclone V2 (T5046) and bascially full throttle flights, draining my entire battery in 1:30 or less, an d they didn't even get warm.

    I had crash and think the bell is bad now on emax 2306/2400kv and since no bells avaliable i may have to find other motors, have you ever heard or tried the mb=multicopter builders that are brother hobby there 2207/2400kv im looking at but my quad with lipo,cam,fpv cam ect is 700g weight so not sure what to go with i really did like the emax 2306 but after a 5ft offground hitting grassy field it messed up motor u can turn motor and bell is got slightly high and low gap between base and bottom of bell.

    • @TheRCAddict
      @TheRCAddict  7 років тому

      Emax might actually be supplying new bells soon, as they do for the RS 2205S Series of motors, though just a guess. 700g is very heavy though, what are you running?
