Third party sellers in the Amazon Marketplace tend to package much better than Amazon itself. So, it's not as cut and dry in terms of superior packaging as you make it sound here between Amazon as a whole and Ebay.
@@BrendonSnyder NOOOO it isn't cut and dry, because there is a whole aspect of AMAZON called MARKETPLACE. So painting with a broad brush and saying ebay generally has better packaging than "Amazon" as a general statement isn't ACCURATE! AGAIN, Amazon MARKETPLACE sellers generally DO package their items VERY WELL! In other words, there are ASPECTS of Amazon as an umbrella term, that DO ship really well in terms of packaging.
Very useful tips, Brendon, thank you. I'm going to watch the Amazon video next. If you haven't already, doing one of these for Discogs was also be very useful. I've found that website kind of confusing to navigate. Cheers.
I love hunting on ebay - found tons of bargains there. Music Magpie is a seller I bought loads from (I'm in the UK). They usually advertise as good condition but when I open the case it's got that brand new "squeaky" feel and the CD looks like it’s never even been removed from the case (even though it was pressed in the 90s or 00s!) I usually get old stuff so it's second hand, but i love it even it’s a bit worne as it has character. What can I say, I'm a CD junkie 😅
I was fortunate to purchase the trunk of funk box on eBay, and it was an excellent condition. All I had to do is fill it with the CDs that I already had.
A tip for jazz lovers: check the label of the vinyl record you are about to purchase. There is a big amount of so called 'euro bootlegs', which are not official releases (that's why those records are cheaper). Among these non official labels that sell bootlegs, I can mention: DOL, Wax Time, Jazz Images, Panam, Jazz Wax, Doxy, Not Now, etc. Some of them sound good but not always is the case. Go for the classic jazz labels like Impulse, Prestige, Blue Note (Classic Series / Tone Poet), Verve (and its Acoustic Sounds series), Original Jazz Classics, Craft, Atlantic Records, Columbia and so on.
i think i got a couple early Pantera records that way, because i noticed after the Ukrainian war that a bunch of (presumably Russian) sellers dropped off
PanAm and NotNow are relatively common over here in Europe. Their records are sold in retail stores and they are perfectly legal. Sound quality on my PanAm record is good, I can't really complain.
i hate it when the international (or even American sometimes) stuff gets stuck in shipping…i have a cd now that’s been shipped but according to tracking hasn’t budged in like a week…it was slated for yesterday too
Ok my dumbest EBay mistake, wasn’t a music purchase but a popular baseball bobble head, it was very popular when it came out, While searching I came a cross one that was buy it now one with a really good price so I quickly bought. When I received it there was no bobble head, I went back and reread the description, and it did say bobble head box, now I know why I got a good deal, read don’t rush to buy something before you know what you bought.
I ordered a box set from someone on ebay. The guy was a really cool he sent me an e mail saying he was sending it priority mail on him because he didn't want the USPS handling too much lol
Good tip for ebay and Amazon ebay's filter looking fo things is better like I don't albums sent from foreign countries just USA I can do that And album condition and other things I've bought from both though your right to compare them on deals
In one of your videos on this topic, I can't remember which one; you said that you avoid buying club edition CD's such as the ones with the BMG patch instead of a barcode. Can you explain why? The reason I ask is because there is a CD on Ebay that I want to buy that is in near mint condition and selling for a great price. The only thing is that it is one of those BMG club editions.
I don’t avoid them for any reason accept I prefer the original releases from the record labels. Just like how the regular bar code looks better than the club tag.
A number of the biggest eBay CD sellers (who usually also sell on Amazon at higher prices) have frequent sales where if you buy X number of CDs in one transaction, you save Y%. You can save a bundle that way if they have things you were already looking for.
Hey do you happen to have a normal earbud recommendation thats good for music? Hard to find a good pair that isnt over the ear or ones that you have to jam into your ear
as to ratings…recently when i left feedback for a few purchases i noticed that all there was was a “positive” button. my experience in those cases was positive, but if it wasn’t i guess Ebay makes you work for it
A telling statistic on any independent seller (eBay or Discogs), imo is seller rating from buyers. Need to be awfully close to near perfect, otherwise beware. Thanks Brendon. Edit #1: Dave at Mad Rush is a great seller and see why he has nothing but 100% rating. Always pleased to use his company.
Sellers who set the item condition as 'like new' or even 'very good' then buries issues in the description are jerks. Anyone who's bought a significant number of items on ebay has dealt with it. Thankfully, most sellers don't want negative feedback, so they make it right (usually with a full or partial refund). Bottom line -- they probably figure a CD listed in 'acceptable' condition (at best) will never sell, so they misrepresent to get it sold. If the buyer doesn't complain, then the seller wins.
thanks for the tips!! Can you do a video like this for Discogs too? :)
I hope so!!

Amazon Marketplace is not Amazon the company though. So it is cut and dry between Amazon and eBay. 🤦♂️

Brendon, very cool tips.

Thanks for the tips, Brendon! I need to remember to read the description because I'm a very impulsive buyer and that tip will come in handy.
I get excited and become very impulsive too. 😂

😂😂😂….I’ve seen stuff like that and I get so excited but then bummed when it’s not the actual item and I have to keep looking.
I ordered a box set from someone on ebay. The guy was a really cool he sent me an e mail saying he was sending it priority mail on him because he didn't want the USPS handling too much lol
Cool…but Priority Mail is still the USPS. It’s just a faster way to ship from USPS.

I have made many purchases from Mad Rush! His online store always has quality items and they ship fast and packaged well! Great video.
Dave from Mad Rush is a great dude w/lot of cds in stock.
Last time I ordered from ebay they had my cd and vhs tape wrapped up really good.
Cool!

Yes I love the Apple air pods. Especially the noise canceling ones.
i agree that ebay sellers generally package way better than Amazon
👍

want to order 6 cds , is tht a lot for online order don’t want damaged
No that’s not too much. They can be protected and properly shipped.
I've always had good luck with ordering cds from ebay always packaged very well and for pretty cheap
Have you ordered cds from Japan before on eBay? If so how did you make out with that?
I have but that makes no difference. It has to do with each individual seller as to whether it’s a good experience or not.
@@BrendonSnyder BTW love your channel. I saw the Richie Sambora you got. I asked because the one I saw ships from Japan.

seller from China wants 8 to 10 dollar
for each cd, that's the trick 😎👍
I don't understand rude sellers. They should not be in the business. Take that tude somewhere else.
