  • Marco Bordogni's vocalises are very useful for brass players at any level to produce a free and continuous airflow, a smooth tone, consistent sound quality across different registers and develop musical skills.
I decided to offer also my exemple, among many others you can find online, to give an alternative idea about how to play in a very relaxed way through the notes. I'm not talking or explaining what to do, because in this case I believe that analysis and imitation are the best way to proceed.
Of course if you have any questions I will try to answer in the comments.
I hope you enjoy it and I encourage you to play along this video, unisono or at different octaves. I'm adding also counterparts recordings, so you can play duets along the videos!

Beautiful playing. Very tasteful slide vibrato. Do you tend to use the slide for vibrato in solo playing? In the states I've only seen jazz players use it frequently.

Thank you very much for your appreciation! I actually like combining embochure vibrato with slide vibrato, depending on the actual range and dynamic in order to achieve the desired effect without affecting sound quality. For example I tend using embochure vibrato in softer dynamics/upper register and the slide one when it's louder/lower register, but many exceptions may occur depending on specific circumstances. I will probably post another Trombone First Aid video regarding vibrato in the future.

Thanks for the reply, I hadn't considered a combination before. I may experiment with that in my own playing. Hope to see that video, have a nice day!
