- It’s sad when a beloved star passes away. It reminds us that life is fleeting and that time moves on without us, no matter who we are.
This year has been particularly brutal because of the celebs we lost. They range from some of the most talented musicians, one of the greatest heavyweight boxers, a great golfer, and an iconic movie star.
Yeah, we lost Prince, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Muhammad Ali, Arnold Palmer, and Carey Fisher all in one year. And they are not the only ones. We’ve compiled a list of celebs that left us this year, but we hope all of them are resting in peace together.

She died the day after her daughter.
I'll never forget seeing Nancy Reagan, as she was walking slowly past her husband's casket, reach over and pat the top of the casket, as though she was comforting him and saying goodbye. It was very moving. Politics and Hollywood aside, those two were deeply in love and had each others' back at every turn. I really admire that. She's with him now. RiP to them and to all who have passed recently.
So sad, sigh and for those most of us George Michael's untimely demise was a real shock. And for those who are a staunch Sci Fi and Fantasy fan like me, the also untimely passing away of Carrie Fisher, leading to her dear mom Debbie Reynolds's. It's devastating but may their spirits be wrapped in love and light by the Cosmic Mother.
I can't believe they left Debbie Reynolds out, she passed away the next day after her daughter Carrie Fisher died! For shame!

OMG!!! I didn't know till you told me just now.... i am huge Scrooge fan and have always thought that it was one of the few voices that matched my idea of what the character from a book (or in this case..comic) sounded like. I thought he was bang on as Scrooge.... Sadness indeed...although we all go down this path so it is inevitable for all...

PRINCE joined the Ancestors on Thursday April 21st, not the 2nd as your list reads
And Carrie Fisher died on December 26th and her Mom died the next day while planning Carrie’s funeral.

Don't know how you overlooked (?) this, but Maurice White died on Feb 4th.
He was the founder of Earth, Wind & Fire as well as composer of many of their great hits, producer, arranger, bandleader and most importantly one of the greatest R&B singers in history. Unfamiliar? Check out his lead vocals on "September", "Shining Star", "That's The Way Of The World", "Sing A Song", "Boogie Wonderland", "Let's Groove Tonight", "Can't Hide Love", "After The Love has Gone", etc..
White was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame as a member of Earth, Wind & Fire, and was also inducted individually into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Not sure how many accolades he would have needed to make your list, but he's also a huge part of Earth, Wind & Fire's 9 GRAMMY Awards, listed below..

Some of the actors that were familiar playing character parts, we miss the announcements on TV if they even bother to announce them, I check this site every so often because of that. Besides, Alan Rickman starring in his iconic role as Professor Snape, I love him in "Something the Lord Has Made" as Dr. Blalock who with his black assistant, paved the way for open heart surgery. They both figured out how to operate on "blue babies". Also, in "Sense and Sensibility" with Kate Winslet and Emma Thompson.😊

You forgot Debbie Reynolds, you also forgot Charmian Carr, she played Leisel Von Trapp in The Sound Of Music, and Billy Chapin, he played in The Night Of The Hunter, he was also a child star on both Broadway and television. He was the older brother of Lauren Chapin from Father Knows Best. They were only about fourteen months apart in age.

Alan Thicke didn't die of a heart attack, he died of a dissected aorta. I know this because it almost happened to me. The same with John Ritter from Three's company.

we lost a lot of great people who will never be forgotten, but even though all those deaths are sad I think that Anton Yelchin's death is the most saddest one of all because he was only 27 years old so young and with a great future ahead of him,and his death could have been avoided if only he put his car into parked or turned his car off to open his gate to his house he still be alive today
