Yep, those stock sound effects haven been used in many video games, probably from Warner Bros library that someone else mentioned.
I'm crazy about those animal sound effects. Somehow I would guess you made them with your mouth and warped & distorted it. Did it happen like that??

Typically effects come from popular sample libraries - basically giant packs of "stock" sound recordings. That said, I know Bjorn likes to record his own, so it's hard to say.
