Toyota cooked their goose with EVs, having resisted producing any and promoting hydrogen powered cars and hybrids instead. Now they are trying to catch up and failing.
Having owned a Kia e-Niro since 2019 and covered 112,000 km in it there is nothing in this Toyota that would tempt may away from Kia. I was for years a Toyota fan having owned several ICE and hybrid cars but Kia IMO have replaced Toyota in that category of dependable, practical good value cars. Kia also have a lot more experience of building EVs than Toyota and their designs are far more interesting. Toyota have wasted huge amounts of money on the hydrogen fantasy, meanwhile doubling down on hybrids in the belief that the global market for EVs will never rise about 30%. The only way they can catch up is to fulfil their promise to bring a compelling range of EVs powered by solid state batteries to the market. Without that then then China Inc and Hyundai/Kia will eat their lunch.
I ordered a ev3.. just have a few weeks to wait..
Hi, thank you for your feedback and enjoy your new EV3 👍
