    Still holds the NFL record for most consecutive winning starts at 25. Unbeaten as a starting quarterback from 1984 to 1987. Steve Young said he learned the game of football watching Jim from the bench at BYU. Ditka said they don't win a Lombardi without McMahon. Legend.

      @@lesgobrandon9444 Yeah, and they were incredibly awesome in '84, but the team without McMahon was still shut out by the 49ers in the Championship.

      It didn’t matter that McMahon had just set 70 NCAA passing records because Chicago’s 1940’s style offense was never supposed to produce an NFL HOF quarterback. The fact is the Bears were lucky that McMahon also had the brains and balls to win in spite of that.

    Totally shocked the LDS BYU community did allow this to happen, but JimmyMac is a Super Bowl winner and that SMU game was unbelievable, they had to do it whether they liked him or not!

    Those were great years, BYU had some amazing offensive lineman, who had great careers in the NFL. The WRs never dropped passes while running exacting routes. They could have beaten anyone.

      He has a damaged eye since his playing days, McMahon had to use a tinted helmet visor because of the light glare.

Dude was out of football a whole season (1988) because he couldn't even beat out sorry-ass Randy Wright (absolutely NO relation, THANK GOD) for a BACKUP quarterback job with the woeful Green Bay Packers.

      2nd the watching. He do a great job on speech. Cool Drs and a patient wife have helped him. He sounds way better. Cool he finished his schooling. Glad his time at BYU was overall a good thing for him.
