Absolutely I have witnessed in 1999 a total eclipse in Belgium on my birthday august 11.

I could drive 2 hours to see if, but decided we will go 4-1/2 instead and visit family. That is, like you, we will watch the forecast and may adjust accordingly.

    Wow absolutely beautiful! Great shots!
Thank you for sharing this with us.
We are at the highest elevation in our county and at the top of our hill, we are hoping for clear skies so we can enjoy the view.

In 2017 we took a detour to SC on our way to the Outer Banks and witnessed totality, and one of the worst traffic jams I've ever experienced. We live about 3 hours from totality for the next eclipse. We already booked rooms, and like you, will travel for better weather. I wish for everyone to have clear skies that day.

    Yes i drove 8 hours in 17.
Yes i would chase them like awestruck groupies. No money.
Yes im driving again . I took a weeks vacation just to be off for those 4 minutes.
I couldn't get anyone to go with me last time.
Ive told everyone im going no matter what.
I will watch the weather i have 2 options 3 hours away different directions.
I totally understand this video and the need you felt to try to impress on people to go see it.
It's most awesome thing besides my children being born i have ever seen.
The flickering shadows off solar flares , like dancing light off a campfire.
To the purest white of the sun ring.
Those of us who know know.

We saw the last one in the flatlands of southern IL and we definitely had the 360 degree sunset effect. The people who poo poo this have no idea what they are missing! Hoping to stay home here in Lorain county, watching the weather.

My concern living in Ohio is definitely the clouds! The Dayton area (home base) is very close to the main path, so hope to have good conditions that day.

Great video, thank you. We’re south of you in Canal Fulton and our daughters have decided there’s going to be a family gathering at our house that day because we have a big open front yard that faces the south. My grandson informed me I’ll be doing ribs in the smoker because mine are the best. What beach are you at?

I was in the 100% zone in 2017. I'm in the 95% zone this time. I wont be traveling for it but I have my glasses already purchased. 👍

In 2017 we were lucky enough to have totality here in our part of SC. Got some great pictures from our dock.

Great information. We are actually traveling from TN to Hillsboro TX for a better chance of viewing the eclipse. We lived there a few years back and our daughter and son-in-law live there now, so we have a place to stay and to view the event!

I saw a total once at Wallop's Island in VA during the 70's. I was stunned at the temperature and silence difference at total.

I have been planning for a year to drive 3 hours to see it. Our daughter is due to have our second grandchild on the 12th, hoping she doesn’t go into labor early. 🤞

Thanks for the preview and advice. In the path of totality in northern Vermont. Fingers crossed for a clear day, a rarity here.
