They dismissed the bodyguards, Mai has the house to herself bc her folks are politicians, and he's still in her bedroom the next day with his hair all messed up. Lightning travels to the ground, usually by hitting something taller and travelling down it. In Aang's case, since it entered his back, the exit point closest to the ground was the foot that was the lowest and in the straightest path. So, yeah, you're right. It went through his foot.
I don't care what anyone else thinks, this is one of my favorite episodes of the season.

Its interesting how when they asked if Zuko's scene was a dream too that you can say Zuko's life looks like a daydream but is actually a nightmare, thought of that before.
actually, it is a daydream to him. its to show that hes happy with the reception hes receiving from his people until the very end when he realizes what he has to give up for that happiness.
No, he is not happy like he said in the Beach episode, he has all he thought he wanted but he is still miserable. He says that later too the Boiling Rock episode as well. And how miserable he is acting here and prior episodes.
Sara Samaletdin just because when you look back at something with misery doesnt mean you were miserable at that time. he was genuinlly enjoying the reception he got. again, it plays into later in this episode otherwise him being happy would pointless at that point.
He was happy at some things but deep down he was miserable because what he really wanted was not an empty spoiled life of a prince but a family and their love and have respect and place in the world he earned.
Funniest bits are when Aang is speaking to Momo in his lemur language, appa and Momo exchange words then fight and of course when the guru says "Chakras...Chakras..everybody like Chakras!!!!" hahhahhaa I die

I like it when they show Aang - everything is goofy, funny and a bit silly. And when there's Zuko - everything is gloomy and sad. Another perfect balance.
I'm surprised at least Eric didn't notice aang was stuck under ice like Zuko was back in season1

I love this episode. It has so many nods to japanese movies and anime, as well as the serious story concerning Zuko.

Aang got shot and the back, and it exited from his foot. Electricity finds the fastest path to ground, which would have been out his foot.
wait did the guy in the right just say that Fire the one and most awesome element was useless? is he serious? Fire is Energy, it is life, we cook food using fire. But hey according to him fire is useless. P.S. let us not forget that firebender can use lighting. #rantover.

zuko is the greatest character development
The lightning went into his back. The reason he has scars on his feet is because electricity always goes to ground.
I should loathe this episode on the same level as The Headband. It's mostly filler, has many annoying anime visual gags, and is too over-the-top to be a part of the Avatar canon. But, I find myself enjoying this episode a lot. It's very funny, mainly due to its exaggerations in the dream/daydream sequences. The Momo/Appa fight can get a little too weird to laugh at, but the cheering sheep, dancing rocks, and Ozai Tree make it a scene so crazy and off-the-wall that LSD wishes it could be as chaotic. The third dream sequence Aang has, showing everyone's demise, is very creative and effective at showing Aang's emotions at the time. I especially love the scene in which Aang is standing on a surface, and it reverses, so Aang is under a frozen sea. When he looks up, he sees Book 1 Zuko and a comet flying overhead. It's very good storytelling, abstract animation, and dreamlike craziness. Speaking of Zuko, his story in this episode is pretty good. It's nice to see him happy in those parts of the episode, and passive side is nice to see too. Also, there's a very subtle moment when Aang punches the tree, causing the leaves and branches to fall. Sokka and Toph look towards the commotion, but Toph turns her ear towards the commotion. That's pretty funny and well-hidden, and I wonder if I've been missing it in other episodes.
For obvious reasons I loved this episode.

The lightning crossed his chest and there is no scar because of the water that katara have and almost used in zuko to heal her face

My reaction to the fish dream was the exact same I was like "yes, yes,yes, YES, FUCK".
about blood bending... I think they needed a full moon in order to enhance their water bending ability because they weren't powerful enough. Maybe a more powerful bender or maybe a more experienced Kitara may be able to master it with or without the influence of the moon, once she knows it can be done. Maybe Kitara cannot fully control a person without a full moon, but at least bind them or restrict their movement from within. I think it all depends on how powerful a bender you are, you can always have enhancers like the meteor for fire benders. I wonder what the enhancers for air benders or earth benders are. By the way, there are some days when we have a full moon during the day, so the scene they refer to when the old lady was extracting water from plants, may very well be under the influence of a full moon, maybe she is not able to do that everyday, I'm just saying.

He's more confused and conflicted than mad, honestly :P
Yeah, maybe he shouldn't have betrayed Iroh but I don't believe it was for nothing. Every character in ATLA has their own journey and their own growth to go through and often times, they'll make the wrong choices every now and then, but what's important is that they learn from them. Some take longer than the other and I think that's especially true with Zuko, someone who for his entire life, just wanted his honor back and for his father to finally accept him.

And yeah Eric, Zuko is a huge whinny bitch during these episodes, because he's trying to figure out exactly what is it that he wants. That "what am I to do with my life?" crisis most ppl have at the age of 14~15, he had a little bit later because when he was a full on teenager he was so sure he wanted to capture the Avatar. Now he's just become a young adult who realized he still has no idea whatsoever of what he wants to do with himself, he spent years trying to get his father's approval just to find out that it doesn't mean anything to him.
I know right, I really feel bad for Zuko, he knows he messed up and he's not happy at all, wish he never betrayed Iroh

Fun little joke episode right? I'm sure nothing that happens here will ever turn out to be incredibly important to the overall story. And Calvin's got it backwards; the lightning hit Aang in the back and then the bolt traveled down his leg and discharged out through his foot. Burns on the soles of the feet are a common injury in lightning strike victims.
