My first boat was bought with the help of Ms Lyra Holt Dean. Sailing is thousands of years old and we continue this long-lasting, intriguing and at the same time dangerous tradition! Hi Jared, I enjoyed watching the video. Chris seems like a very down to earth guy. He was obviously given a leg up in life, but definitely appreciates everything he's been given and instead of settling for what he had has worked hard to maintain and grow his lifestyle. He really seems to appreciate not only his family and friends, but also the people that work for him. I see a lot of those same qualities in you. I see how far you have come in a short period of time. You have a strong work ethic and the respect you give to everyone around you whether a yacht owner or one of your viewers just starting out will serve you well. Much of success is hard work, determination, and never giving up or excepting no as an answer. The rest is being in the right place at the right time and creating the right contacts .

What a great owner. I worked on small cruise ships as chief engineer. Superintendents from the office would be a nightmare. Arrogant and dismissive. When the owner came along, I would talk to him and explain things and he was down to earth and a great guy. I was told to not mess with the A/C by the Super, but managed to get permission from the owner to make a really needed change. Passengers complained constantly about A/C, but the Super had my hands tied. I solved the problem in a couple of hours with the backing of a good owner. Thank god my years as a yacht captain are behind me. Last one was 180" , helicopter on the flight deck, the whole bit. I left the business because a doctor told me I was going to end up in either a mental hospital or a physical one.
I really respect the way this owner talks, besides knowing what he does for a living. If you didn't know he really comes off like a owner of a large construction company. The boss that grabs a hard hat and works with you to get a job done. I would work for him in a second under his paint business.
That is so true...” if you’re not working hard for your dreams, you’re working hard for someone else’s dreams”. Granted today it’s a little harder to have that kind of funds to afford a major yacht . This is being written during the Coronavirus so even if you have the personal or corporate funds I’m not so sure how politically correct it would be.
Awesome Interview Jared! Chris is an amazing person, very humble, love the part when he treats his crew as family. Its very rare to see owners like these. Great content Jared! Keep up the good work! God speed!
Great job man, you have that confident, well thought-out, upfront respect and charisma that is unique to South Africans (you know what I mean). This made it a really good interview, and not one which panders to the owner. Coupled with the owner's ubuntu, this made this a treat to watch. Well played sir. Well played.
Jared, this is good content. You asked some great questions. I especially liked the one about where the wealth comes from. There were a few things that can be polished. Some of the follow up commentary was unnecessary and awkward. "I don't hold it against you if you inherited your wealth" is an example. Say "thank you for being so open and candid" and move on. The other was multiple comments that many owners don't care about the crew. Makes you look like you have a chip on your shoulder. Also, be mindful of body language and positioning. His is too relaxed, yours is over eager. Ask your subject to sit with feet on the floor facing the camera. You should face the camera as well. It invites people in. Best of luck in your endeavors!
Once again goolly good show! What a brilliant interview and look into the mind of a yacht owner! great work! " Wife...… Walk naked around yacht at sea not at the dock!" EPIC quote! Enjoying your work in Richahstan USA!!!! aka Palm Beach Such a sad story about Lazzara Yachts in Tampa.....In college my neighbor did modeling for that Yacht co.. great yachts until the economic downturn took them down the tubes.. Really too bad. They were a awesome American Yacht builders and a terrific family from Tampa!
Very shallow draft: double-edged sword. Maybe you can get into more places but you'll be running from every storm cell and probably won't even leave harbour if the swell is too high.
never been on a yacht, definitely don't know anyone who owns one, nor anyone who would charter one, nor anyone who would ever invite me onto one, but you videos are peculiarly interesting and I like them
For a man coming from wealth (no offense) he is very down to earth, has some great advice but also was asked the right questions, btw have subbed to your channel, great video content & beautiful video quality, cheers from down under.
Thank you, both you and Chris for this and especially the owner for his openness. This is, on top of simply interesting and fascinating, a very helpfull video for understanding and respect amongst and across all layers of society (I know it sounds really pompous but really, you know what I mean). If I ever reach the relevant level of financial wealth I will consider his, whichever it is by that time, families yacht first for chartering. He deserves the business :)
That's something a lot of people no matter what their status in life is, money and looks can all be gone in the blink of an eye. Be greatfull for what you have, especially at this level.
Really great interview... Seems like such a grounded, normal owner... And as you said, very nice for him to be so considerate of the crew! Maybe it was the service side of me, but that empty glass he was holding for 20 minutes was killing me... I was desperate to top it up with something! :D
Started watching a bunch of yacht tour videos and the question I started asking myself was “I wonder what all these yacht owners do for business” please do more of these. Chris heatley owns Seymour paints inventor of aerosol spray paint.
What an amazing interview with a guy that was born into money but is down to earth and is thankful for the opportunities that have been afforded him. Totally awesome guy he is. If I could afford it (and I can’t ☹️) I’d book a charter with him tomorrow. Very refreshing. Thanks Jared.
what i want to know is if there is any owners that are also captains of their own ships. I want to know if there is anyone out there with a sizable yacht like this but livesaboard it or pilots their ship to simply travel or explore.
Here's an idea - podcast type video with other UA-camrs in the industry maybe when there's a boat show or something. Maybe broker like David seal, crew like esysman, capt like super yacht captain, and builder. Definitely would be awesome

Very good interview! Chris, the owner seems to be the type of person you would hope most wealthy people are. Usually, wealthy people are thrown into a group that people vilify for no good reason, but in reality they make the world turn.
Great info
Great questions
Great inside scoop on family, business, very HUMBLE yacht owner - MUCH MUCH respect for that !!!
Now fill that wine glass up !!! and bring on the ladies !!
My slogan is, live the dream ...
It has changed to, live your dream, Great video...
A yacht with a “man cave” where cigar smoking commences! Nice! 😊
A big thanks to Chris for his time and great info
Thanks Jared, you’re the only one I’ve seen do such a video. Very interesting to here from an owner! Wow, I never thought I would get that chance.
Why can't all billionaires and millionaires be like him? He is such a down to earth guy.
Why do you have to judge how other Billionaires and Millionaires carry themselves?
The guy definitely isn't down to earth.
@@2011blueman He doesn't need to be. Good on him
@@JakesWealth Because showing basic human decency and respect shouldn't depend on how wealthy you are.
@@ddandymann Basic human decency, as your opinion.
Bru, you were very calm cool and collected with some good questions. Well done! I know talking to these people can be very nerve wrecking sometimes.
Inspiring :) can't wait to build my first yacht. I love how respectful and appreciative he is of his crew ❤️
Enjoying your work in Richahstan USA!!!! aka Palm Beach
Such a sad story about Lazzara Yachts in Tampa.....In college my neighbor did modeling for that Yacht co.. great yachts until the economic downturn took them down the tubes.. Really too bad. They were a awesome American Yacht builders and a terrific family from Tampa!
Take a few zeros off that price ticket and you’ve got yourself a deal my good sir! 13,500 sounds fair??
How long does a superyacht last? Does they go out of commission like airplanes?
Very shallow draft: double-edged sword. Maybe you can get into more places but you'll be running from every storm cell and probably won't even leave harbour if the swell is too high.
Fantastic video! Great info for those of us who live vicariously through these clips and plan to be yacht owners after we win mega-millions!
never been on a yacht, definitely don't know anyone who owns one, nor anyone who would charter one, nor anyone who would ever invite me onto one, but you videos are peculiarly interesting and I like them
For a man coming from wealth (no offense) he is very down to earth, has some great advice but also was asked the right questions, btw have subbed to your channel, great video content & beautiful video quality, cheers from down under.
Honest open interview and fascinating ,thank you both.
Super amazing video!!! Chris is a cool guy for sharing this info with the world!
His open spirit contributes to his success!!
Thank you so much for the comment and appreciation. I’m sure Chris will read these comments!
That's something a lot of people no matter what their status in life is, money and looks can all be gone in the blink of an eye. Be greatfull for what you have, especially at this level.
What?!? Asking price is only $13.50?
I've got that. Consider it sold.
Think you are over paying, he said Thirteen five $13.05 no point over paying
Really great interview... Seems like such a grounded, normal owner... And as you said, very nice for him to be so considerate of the crew! Maybe it was the service side of me, but that empty glass he was holding for 20 minutes was killing me... I was desperate to top it up with something! :D
Polite Superyacht Owner! And, someone forgot to wipe off the table!
Thanks Jared.
sick, his grandpa invented aerosol spraypaint... i bought a lot of cans in my life... nice to know where my money went :D:D:D
the owner is so humble and so kind
what i want to know is if there is any owners that are also captains of their own ships. I want to know if there is anyone out there with a sizable yacht like this but livesaboard it or pilots their ship to simply travel or explore.
I love the saying about working hard for your dream not to make someone’ else’s dream come true.
Here's an idea - podcast type video with other UA-camrs in the industry maybe when there's a boat show or something. Maybe broker like David seal, crew like esysman, capt like super yacht captain, and builder. Definitely would be awesome
