Serge, I'm an amateur who saw your video on UA-cam by accident & it inspired me to buy a second hand Nikon D80. I'm on a steep learning curve & trying to understand the complexities of photography. I love learning via your free tutorials and have paid for your apps to learning photography. However, please don't disappoint your fan base by making half baked video like this and coercing them to buy your paid tutorials. Those who love your work will buy anyways, coz your work is really awesome.

Serge - great video even if it is not complete. I have pretty much all of your training packages and have found them to be very valuable. While the workflow package does not have the final of this particular photo, it has videos that details your technique and I would encourage those who enjoy the free podcasts to buy any of your packages - you will not be disappointed.

Are you kidding me? Half videos? Whats wrong with giving some free information and asking that we pay for more? It takes a lot of time to organize, film and publish this content. Thank you Serge for all that you do! I think the info you provide is so valuable and the cost is very reasonable. No one is providing so much free information. I'm very grateful for your training and providing it at a cost that everyone can afford. Thank you sir!

    Hello Serge,
First of all thanks for the great tutorials, i learn a lot of them 👌🏻
Do you have a secret code about how much you underexposed and overexposed in landscapes when you want to go blend (as example always +1 and +2) or do you look at the lcd screen and choose from there when the exposure is fine for example the sky?

    Hi Serge,
There's a way to understood the settings of the 2 photos (Over and Under)?
For example, how many stops for each O & U have you set, starting from the "normal"? (+1, +2, +3.... etc etc or -1 -2 -3)
It's not easy to explain what I'm looking for :)

Not everyone has photoshop (myself included), so I'd recommend trying the LREnfuse (donation-ware) plugin for lightroom. I think it works well and it gives a natural appearance.

    • @kinjat561

you can't tweak the highlights and shadows to their extreme unless the original raw file (your camera) has high dynamic range. which camera are you using?

hello, I am new here. I have a question about your RAW file, and why it is dng instead of CR2. As I know, the color of RAW file convert from DPP ( canon software ) is very different to lightroom or photoshop converted. I love DPP's color style, and this is very confuse me. Because DPP is as not as good as lightroom for retouch but colors.
I want to buy your tutorials, having the answer about my question? thanks.

I do think you offer a lot for free and I think these are good. I guess people have an issue with the marketing approach. It might be better to do something like Phlearn does which is create very small/short but complete tutorials of lesser detail then have much longer/complete paid tutorials of separate photos and projects. I think the problem that people have is that once they get 15 minutes into a video they don't want to then realize they have to pay to see the rest.

Serge, I hope you don't take my critique the wrong way, I'm sure you understand where I'm coming from.

    1. You should always auto align layers before doing your blending. 2. Its better to use the over exposed layer for the dark rock area because more details captured. 3. You should use luminosity masks instead of just free handing everything for better accuracy otherwise you get spill over which looks sloppy. 4. Way too much color saturation! 5. Foreground is too bright! Looks totally unrealistic. Just my opinions.
