      @@PhotoPills I'm figuring out how to save for a trip further south to see more of the Galactic core. We lose out so much over the summer when its at its peak.

    I have a 24mm lens and a Canon 600D camera.
    Last year, I tried it and I was not lucky enough as I got only 1 faint meteor after 3 hours of shooting from the city. I saw sooo many big meteors but as always my camera was pointing into a different direction. :/
    Now, I want to try it again, probably I need to make a luck-dance before shooting them xD

    I’m in Lincoln, U.K. When is the best time to photograph the comet?

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Рік тому

      In the northern hemisphere is harder and harder everyday that goes because the comet is getting closer and closer to the sun. The chance to see it occurs before dawn these days.

    Just purchased PhotoPills for my iPhone and can’t believe I hadn’t done so earlier. Loved this video, have subscribed. Planning to use also for my solar eclipse photography coming up soon here in Texas! Great! Thank you! I am excited! :)

    Great video as usual , one question as a relative newcomer to Photopills , I live in the UK so does the time on my app reflect British summertime ans change automatically to GMT in winter or do I have to set it manualy ?

      Hey! PhotoPills shows you local time for the Red Pin Position... so yes! If you tap once on the time bar, make sure that the Time Zone is set to autodetect :)

    Yes, the peak ZHR is on Saturday / Sunday but the weather around here isn't looking so great so I'm going out tonight (and every other clear night) - even though I will only get around 14 per hour at tonight's peak.

    An hour before peaking meteor shower how many meteors will there be?

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Рік тому

      Nobody knows! Meteor showers are not 100% predictable. This is the reason we recommend to spend the whole night taking photos. Nobody knows when a meteor will appear in the sky.

    Probably a stupid question but when planning for a photo, be it a Milky Way shot, a Moon shot etc, why is the red pin not placed where the subject is and then the black pin where the person shots from?

    • @bruceleonard3096
      @bruceleonard3096 Рік тому

      You can reverse them which is handy.

    • @PhotoPills

      The Red Pin is the Camera Pin, where you place your tripod. This way you understand the position of the Sun, Moon and MW relative to the Red Pin.
