I tried the jbl setup and honestly regret it. The bass and sound was way better with the stock speakers that came with car. The jbl did sound more crisp but barely have any bass and the dash speakers are crackling the whole time. Gonna switch it back this coming week and thought I’d let y’all know incase you were wanting to try it
i changed all my factory speakers with JBL speakers and yes with all 6.5 replacements the bass isnt very good , so what i did was changed the 2 front speakers with JBL 6x9 and WOW blow me away the bass that comes outta them 6x9 , with wiring harness adapters and metra adapter plates will work perfect no mods needed on the door but with door panel i had to trim it where the panel touches the factory speaker to get clearance for the 6x9 could play without interference @nathanflores2659
@@mikeal425 What speaker adapter did you buy for the 6x9 speakers to fit the front door? I just replaced all mine with Infinity and I have a sub, so it sounds great. I think if you did a video of what your 6x9 speakers looks on a Camry 18-23, people will watch.
This is awesome. I recently bought a2023 hybrid XSE at a deal and never bothered to test out the audio. When I drove out and put my music I realize the audio was trash. This video will help me decide what new speakers I should get thanks a lot.
Same here 23 XSE hybrid and the sound system is a joke, should I upgrade the speakers with the same speakers in this video? I only want to switch the 4 doors speakers and the dash. Will that be enough to make the car sound a lot better?
If you give those rear door speaker wire adapers a little squeeze on the sides, the plastic temporarily deforms enough that you can force the big one through on the Metra speaker adapter, without drilling it.
i can affirm that 6x9 will fit in the front doors of my 2023 Camry with no modding the door i used metra door adapters fit perfect i did have to trim the inside of the door panel where the panel would touch the factory speaker so i wud have clearance for speaker to play i also can affirm that a 12 inch sub will mount up in the rear deck i installed all JBL speakers and i love the way it sounds now i did have to mod my rear deck panel and installed a factory JBL speaker grill
Except for having to work in a possible humid area over time: what is wrong with paper membrane/cones? They are lighter and quicker, and because of that they require less watts to push out the same db as a heavy sluggish plastic/metal cone.
Quick question just bought new XSE Camry with premium audio 9 speakers. Do you think the premium option is worth it? Or are those speakers also, just factory garbage? Thanks
I thought the TRD automatically came with JBL speakers? I just purchased the 2023 XSE fully loaded and it says it brings the upgraded 9 JBL speaker package. Would the JBLs that the XSE bring be comparable to the JBLs youre installing?
for the back door, it fit nothing but a coaxial. However, in the front, I think there are room to play with, because not like other cars, the dash fits a 3-1/2. So the combination is component(which is tweeter in dash plus low range in the doors), 3-1/2 2 way coaxial in the dash plus 6-1/2 2way coaxial in the door which is the way you did, and then 3-1/2 2way in the dash plus low range in the doors. Which combination makes the best sound?
Thanks! Honestly, I’m not too sure why Toyota decided to stop putting their speakers in the rear. I’ve owned a ton Camrys. 4th, 5th, 6th, and now this 8th Gen and this is the first one that has the rear speakers in the doors. In the higher trim level Camrys there is a subwoofer in the rear deck, but from what I’m hearing they’re pretty prone to rattles

I did the same thing same speakers just not the front doors yet. But Did you or will you replace the subwoofer in back dash too?! Did you amp up the aftermarket jbl's or just keep them on factory amp? I have same car trying to get my sounds right too
Yeah, just got my 2020 camry se bout 2 months ago. Love the car, but speakers are straight garbage. I plan to install Polk Audio inside and put some 12" subs in trunk. Again tho, love the car.

I can’t find the harness adapter for the dash speakers…..Amazon says only one adapter left for the door speaker but there’s no info on the dash adapter….any idea ? Thanks
i added some JBL 3.5 to my dash, so the install was not to bad , i used the wire harness adapters , and i also added bass blockers i got the 700 hz blockers so i cud get mid range and highs , sounds really good , but the factory plates will press down on the new speakers if you install them like the factory tweeters , so what i done was i put the bolt clips on the speaker and mounted them under the dash mounting surface so i did not have to mod anything and the speakers can play without interference
Does the stock stereo have enough power to drive those aftermarket speakers efficiently. I bought a PAC LPHTY02 t-harness so that I can hopefully integrate an amp into the door speakers in the future. I do not know if it will fit but I contacted PAC and they said that it should.
You need to be careful with most audio amps (head units) when replacing speakers with lower impedance values. Your application was from 4 ohms to 3 ohms. That 1 ohm difference wasn't enough to cause problems. But had you cut it in half (2 ohms), you're amp very well may have had issues with the impedance cut in half. Be careful.
Hey SEsGarage, I really appreciate this video. In one of the replies to someone elses comment you said you recommend changing the dashboard speakers and back door speakers but keep the front door speakers stock to have that bass / loudness balance. Are there an aftermarket JBL speakers or possibly another brand that you can possibly recommend that would be great for the front two door speakers?
I added 6.5 kickers to my front and rear speakers which sound amazing with a loc and sub, but my tweeters holy hell crackle with any bass. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the reply man! I added a bass blocker to um but still no luck. I popped the stock back in for now. I put In kicker 3.5 mids for the dash and they just don't like the setup. I have kicker kc 6.5s for the doors and they sound great. Thinking about popping the jbl clubs in the front.

I keep seeing videos, yeah they explain the frequencies, gain, sound, etc. but what I’m looking for when tuning is what do I need to turn and adjust for more BASS, idc about the sound, distortion, loudness, etc (I’ll adjust the tone and sound after I get it the way I want it) but my main goal is BASS. Do I need to upgrade my amp to get more bass? Play with the knobs? Or should I get new subs and amp??
I actually appreciate this comment! So I tried to select a speaker that I thought would be a decent upgrade for the average listener that would still be able to be powered by the factory head unit. Most of the high end speaker upgrades require the mounting of a crossover and will not reach their full potential without putting some serious power into them. If I was building a system for all out performance we would’ve went with an audio processor out of the factory headunit into a quality 4 channel amp with some JL components!

I did a similar thing upgraded all the spekars in a dodge dakota snd the results were amazing. I tried to repeat on a 2020 f150 and lost all the bass. The aftermarket speakers needed amplification. This helped alot
Hey. I’m a complete amateur here. Thanks for doing this. I was considering an audio upgrade for my 2022 XSE but the pro shop wants $3k +++ to do it and they won’t tell me the model numbers or any real details of what they are planning to put it ( big red flag). so I’m not spending that kind of money on the hope it will work out. For anyone else in this boat, and only wanting to do speakers I would suggest only doing the 3.5” in the dash. The reason for this is the fact that the dash and the front door speakers are wired in parallel and connected to one channel of the head unit. If you replace both existing 4 ohm speakers with with 3 ohm’s the head unit sees ~1.5 ohm’s in stead of ~2 ohm’s which is beyond what the unit can do, that’s why yourself and others have had results of being too crisp, no bass and clippy. If replacing all 6 speakers on this vehicle you there are a few options but all require pulling the dash apart and all require an amp: Best is to separate the dash speakers from the front doors and install a a 6 channel amp to support everything. Good would be to leave the dash and door speaker on one channel install tweeters in place of the 3.5’s in the dash, using crossovers, with 6.5’s (or even better6x9) in the door. In this scenario the amp could be a much more affordable 4 channel instead of a 6 channel but finding a woofer/tweeter pair (which will include the crossover) and a tweeter to fit the factory 3.5” footprint may be a challenge, I decided not to go that way so I didn’t research it. NOTE: For all us Hybrid model XSE owners out there - be careful not to exceed the 30amp suggested max for the amp.
Guys anyone help, I replaced the JBL speakers 300 wats for my camry 2010, I replaced the front and rare speaks, but not the two speakers on the top, my question is are the speakers 300 w is too much? And are the driver and passenger speakers are subwoofers only, because I don't hear any sound from them only bass, the sound comes from the top little speakers only, any help on this plz
What about the airbag? And disconnecting it without setting it off in your face! More important than watching you screw 4 screws in ( two times). They just disappear I guess.
You’re working nowhere near the SRS system when doing this. You don’t have to touch any airbag wiring. Disconnecting the battery is one screw on the negative terminal, free to do it if you’d like.

If replacing all 6 speakers on this vehicle you there are a few options but all require pulling the dash apart and all require an amp:
Best is to separate the dash speakers from the front doors and install a a 6 channel amp to support everything.

What wire harness did you use for the dash speakers? It's not listed here.

Is it necessary to add stinger roadkill sound deadening to the doors when replacing the speakers I have a 2018 camry looking to replace the speakers
I have a 2019 SE I feel like they sound worst after a few minutes of playing them, it sounds like the old Toyota radio sound
I did order the dash speakers under your amazon affiliate account. Just installed it. Thanks for the informative video 👍🏽 👍🏽
I appreciate you!
SAY NO TO CRACK!!! 🤣🤣🤣
My XSE says it already comes with JBL audio system.. Is this not true then??
Several levels of audio systems available from factory. If it's labeled JBL, it is JBL, but might not be the best JBL.
How do you feel about rockford speakers?
Speakers are like ice cream. Everyone has their own flavor that they like. Rockford Fosgate makes some nice speakers, I’ve just never ran them myself
Hello, you changed tweters with coaxial?

Great video thank you!
