Like I said on last night video the first time I heard jam pony was when I was in the Marine Corps stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and the dudes from Florida would bring the tapes and that was 95 and the tapes I heard we’re not slow down but more of that popular style they were doing where they would cut the volume real quick and the DJ would interject his own words into the song. Not saying there weren’t slow down mixes because I just found out jam pony was around from the 80s, but ain’t no way they originated chopped & screwed music.
Say all of their tapes sounded like whatever by Devin alllll of their tapes

Ke not old enuf, to really remember Daryl Scott. Bru trippin. I remember Daryl Scott in 1988. Fresh is the word on kids jam was literally 1985. I remember because that was the year my mom moved us to Houston from Orange Texas. We moved to the northside right off of Mesa Road and Sterlingshire. Then in 1988 we moved to South Park These dudes just not old enuf to remember. Tim used to cut my hair too along wit ole dude who opened up Platinum’s on Belfort. my sons went to Peck elementary for a minute. Darrell Scott just slowed down that Mantronix song after he heard it on kids jam probably. But it was on Darrell Scott tape slowed down. i’m not a rapper or anything like that just a regular dude, but I would be geeking for that Darrell Scott tape with Mantronix on it he also”Big Butt” by Bobby Jimmy and the Critters slowed down around the same time 1988 and Eddie Murphy stand up was mixed in as well. Ijs I remember this shit. Now, when I heard Screw! That was a whole different thing. Screw took that shit to a whole diff level. So, this nigga in Florida need to stop. The first song I heard screw was Swangin and banging-by ESG, on a lil throw down. What’s crazy is I went to jail that exact same day.😆. The laws pulled right up to my house and said I had a warrant.😅 anyway there will never be another DJ Screw and he Mr. Robert Earl Davis is the one who started that. I was born the same year as Screw, 1971. I’m not famous or trying to argue with any of these dudes. This is just my story that I remember.

in the late 70s early 80s there was a dj in Italy called Daniele Baldelli and he used to play fast electronic music (around 124 bpm) at 33 (slowed from 45 rpm) and reggae 12" played at 45 (sounding like chipmunks) . coincidentally he used to sell tons of tapes at the club he was playing. his tapes are on UA-cam and there's a interview done by red bull music academy if you want to check it out. he still plays to this day around the world. A bit different from what screw was doing though.

But Screw was the 1 to take it worldwide because of college students and ppl like myself that was in the Army. First off slowed down music and chopped and screwed music are 2 different styles. In Florida we SLOWED or SPEED UP our music, we dgaf about no chopped and screwed music it’s annoying af. A lot of y’all states be so scared to admit that y’all are inspired by the things we do in Florida then try to debate on it to make it seem like y’all did it first 😂😂. Starting with the music, Florida had bass line music and booty shaking music, then here comes Georgia biting off that style, then Louisiana, and ran with it like they created it 😂😂. Then the gold grills how ours looked like perm and permanent gold, then boys in Louisiana was inspired by the dudes in Florida when they saw they had a mouth full of gold, but saying Louisiana started it.
