I have been making this frosting for years because it’s great in warmer climates. I add melted chocolate to mine, it gives it a richer chocolate 🍫 taste. I love the way you make the goo slowly, I dump everything in then run it through a sift. I am going to try it your way with the extra melted chocolate. Beautiful job very silky ❤️
This a an amazing chocolate frosting, I've never seen a recipe for frosting with flour, I'm going to give this a try, thank you so much for sharing 💛 💛
Beginner amateur baker here. I made this and I ended up with the perfect consistency; and also a very good taste, considering that I had to use instant coffee powder of a low quality. Thank you!
This looks absolutely amazing Sweetie! My Grandma swore by high end butter too. She swore that is what made her cooking so good. I think she used a half pound of butter in just about everything she cooked! LOL! (Well, maybe not quite THAT much!) ;o) Wonderful job on this frosting Sweetie! This is definitely a keeper!
I learned from experience, the better the quality the better the outcome. Anytime I use low-end butter, I end up making tons of adjustments because the end product always comes out so dry. Thank you so much, my friend!
I just watched this and I love how detailed it is!!! Not sure if you respond to posts but… I’m trying to switch from a nursing career to a baking career with focus on cakes/cupcakes. I like that you talked about using high-end products and would like advice on how to find the high quality ingredients.
This is a very rich and delectable looking recipe!!! That frosting looks superb!!! Would love to try this but not sure how the frosting would turn out with just a plain old hand mixer!?!? Just shared this video with my sister who likes baking sweet treats! Thanks for sharing this awesome recipe!!! 😊👍
Hey there, thank you so much my friend. You could make them with a hand mixer and have the same results. Just make sure you whip it for a long period of time.
Good Lord! That's a lot of work but I'm sure its worth it. I knew when you said coffee. My Mama and Grandma taught me to use a little because it really brings out the chocolate. I have never heard of a cooked flour frosting before. Thankyou! Amazing✌😊🍫🍥 Happy New YeR!🎉🍾new sub!
Hi! I think that the amount of milk did not show up on the pop ups, can you please tell how much milk did you use? Thanks! I'm looking forward to make this recipe.
I'd love to try this on cupcakes I'm making for a wedding this weekend, but I'm concerned about the possibility of warm or humid weather. Have you ever tried substituting a small amount of Crisco shortening for some of the butter? I wondering if this would give it a little more stability.
When you said milk what did you exactly say what type of milk I didn't hear you correctly and also can I substitute milk with almond milk or something like that
Ohhh forgot another ?: Can I use it as a filling for a cake to be covered with fondant? Can this be done with gluten free flour and Almond milk? Thank you so much
yes but it would take an extremely long time to whip up. Just be very patient with it and do not rush the whipping process and you shouldn't have any lumps of butter in your final product.
I followed the recipe and steps and had amazing success. Thank you for the video. I have a question though, how many days can this frosting stay at room temperature provided it is not too hot?
Thank you so much! It should be stored in the fridge at all time, this is nothing but pure butter and milk in this frosting so it must be kept in the fridge. Thank you so much for trying my recipe!
It's stable for a short period (about 4 hours or so depending on how hot it is). There's butter in this and butter melts. I would highly suggest keeping it stored in the fridge until 30 min before (depending on your serving situation). Thanks for watching.
Hi, Myro, just leave out the cocoa powder, coffee and use only 1 tablespoon vanilla extract. Do not add anymore flour than listed. I have a recipe on my cooking channel Cooking with Tovia - Vanilla Ermine
Hi, Tina, when you whisk the items together it is actually "sifting" them together. The grains from the sugar also breaks the flour and chocolate down. Using a sifter is just a headache for this and cleaning the chocolate out of the sifter is a pain too. Personally, I only use sifter when baking cakes or when it's extremely necessary. :) Thank you for watching and supporting.
It will be great if you indicate on your screen the exact recipe and ingredients so we can try out and follow the procedure like me looking for something new frosting and have the idea for.my cakes and cup cakes frosting.
There are much easier ways to make this frosting. Like creaming the butter and sugar and then adding the cooled milk and flour mixture all at once to it and beat it until fluffy. This guy makes it look so difficult when it isn't!

Hi..how much of melted chocolate do u add?
It's does hold up well? I live in Florida and I hate American buttercream the the other versions just melt during the warm months.

Mmmmm, looks delicious! Coffee plus butter plus cocoa?? What a delight.

Tovia, you're a talented and sweet man. The frosting looks wonderful and I'm literally dying for your secret cupcake recipe. :)

Will this work if almond flour is substituted to AP flour?
I'd love to try this on cupcakes I'm making for a wedding this weekend, but I'm concerned about the possibility of warm or humid weather. Have you ever tried substituting a small amount of Crisco shortening for some of the butter? I wondering if this would give it a little more stability.
cooked flour frosting buenicima gracias😍
New sub here. Where did you learn your skills? Nice video!
I'm really excited to try this! Will it hold up between layers when frosting a cake? Should I double this recipes to frost a 9" layer cake? THANKS!!!
I usually make about 4 times the recipe for a cake. It holds up really well too.
Beautiful... Its this same with the modified american buttercream?
No they are not the same.
Tried it and love it!
Hey, Carlie, I am so glad you enjoyed it! Stay tuned because I have another exciting flavor frosting to come.
La'Sugary Sweet cool I'll be waiting, I just subscribed!

Hello, Did you say Pet milk? like in the can?
When you said milk what did you exactly say what type of milk I didn't hear you correctly and also can I substitute milk with almond milk or something like that
You can use regular or lactose free milk. I don’t know if you could use almond milk, I’m allergic to it. You can try and find out.
Amazing! Can't wait to try it, thanks for sharing :-)
Hi,love this icing!may i know the exact proportion?thanks!
It'll frost roughly 18 cupcakes.
Ohhh forgot another ?: Can I use it as a filling for a cake to be covered with fondant?
Can this be done with gluten free flour and Almond milk?

Hi, what will i do if i want it plain only, just substitute the cocoa powder with apf? TIA..

I am so happy to hear that!! Thank you so much for trying my recipe. I have another special flavor coming soon. Thank you for watching.
You can also sift them together and it mixes together well

How many grams of butter equate to 1 cup?
can I make vanila frosting with the same recipe???
I have the vanilla version on my cooking channel :) I'm planning to post a new vanilla version that I haven't not seen before :)
It will be great if you indicate on your screen the exact recipe and ingredients so we can try out and follow the procedure like me looking for something new frosting and have the idea for.my cakes and cup cakes frosting.
Sigh it’s extremely obvious you did not watch my video because if you did you would of saw the recipe pop up in the white box on the screen. Ooopsie!
Won't this melt though if it's sitting outside during the summer.
Yes, any frosting will melt outside in the heat. It’s butter, best advice is to bring outside about 20 min before serving.
Yummmm, can't wait for the recipe for chocolate brownie 😊
Thanks for the like Chef 👌☺
hi....can I use shortening instead of butter?
No
Awesome
Thank you so much!
Hii! Is there a vanilla version??
Yes, I have one posted on my main UA-cam channel, here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/fGowiS-b4vM/v-deo.html
Great Chef!!!
This is like torture.. my mouth is watering.. 🌺
Hey, Morning Flower, this frosting is worth making!! Thank you so much for watching!
Can’t it be done without butter?
I mean it seemed alright even before adding the butter?
Nice but in our place butter is very rare and costly..can i use oil or any other ingredient instead of butter ?
....and then there were three! 😃👍
can i store it is fridge to use it after two days
Yes, keep it covered with plastic wrap. When you take it out, allow it to soften at room temp for 15 minutes or soon depending on your environment.
would u call th8is puddin frostin?
No, Ermine because it's a cooked rough frosting.
Nice
Iam your fan
Is it stable ?.
It's stable but keep in mind, like anything with butter, heat will melt it.
these are like the ingredients in pudding
1 c butter?
1 cup butter
Can we use this recipe for Russian tips
Yes, it should pipe with no problem. I've never tested on Russian tips before but I plan on testing very soon.
does it taste like chocolate milkshake?
It tastes more like a super rich chocolate whip cream. It's really delicious and tastes better than regular chocolate frosting.
Can you please give me the measurement in weights☺
Where is the vanilla?
In your kitchen cabinet I’m assuming.
Can you pls give ingredients by weight?
I will post a conversion for you asap.

I’m sorry you find this so difficult. We all have our way of doing things. I shared how I was trained in school.
