    I have been making this frosting for years because it’s great in warmer climates. I add melted chocolate to mine, it gives it a richer chocolate 🍫 taste. I love the way you make the goo slowly, I dump everything in then run it through a sift. I am going to try it your way with the extra melted chocolate. Beautiful job very silky ❤️

    Beginner amateur baker here. I made this and I ended up with the perfect consistency; and also a very good taste, considering that I had to use instant coffee powder of a low quality. Thank you!

    This looks absolutely amazing Sweetie! My Grandma swore by high end butter too. She swore that is what made her cooking so good. I think she used a half pound of butter in just about everything she cooked! LOL! (Well, maybe not quite THAT much!) ;o) Wonderful job on this frosting Sweetie! This is definitely a keeper!

      I learned from experience, the better the quality the better the outcome. Anytime I use low-end butter, I end up making tons of adjustments because the end product always comes out so dry. Thank you so much, my friend!

    Not sure if you respond to posts but… I’m trying to switch from a nursing career to a baking career with focus on cakes/cupcakes. I like that you talked about using high-end products and would like advice on how to find the high quality ingredients.

    I'd love to try this on cupcakes I'm making for a wedding this weekend, but I'm concerned about the possibility of warm or humid weather. Have you ever tried substituting a small amount of Crisco shortening for some of the butter? I wondering if this would give it a little more stability.

    • @Builditbigg
      @Builditbigg  6 років тому +1

      yes but it would take an extremely long time to whip up. Just be very patient with it and do not rush the whipping process and you shouldn't have any lumps of butter in your final product.

    I followed the recipe and steps and had amazing success. Thank you for the video. I have a question though, how many days can this frosting stay at room temperature provided it is not too hot?

    • @Builditbigg
      @Builditbigg  7 років тому +2

      Thank you so much! It should be stored in the fridge at all time, this is nothing but pure butter and milk in this frosting so it must be kept in the fridge. Thank you so much for trying my recipe!

  • @odsolinda8192

    Is it stable even in hot weather?

    • @Builditbigg
      @Builditbigg  7 років тому +2

      It's stable for a short period (about 4 hours or so depending on how hot it is). There's butter in this and butter melts. I would highly suggest keeping it stored in the fridge until 30 min before (depending on your serving situation). Thanks for watching.

    Hi, what will i do if i want it plain only, just substitute the cocoa powder with apf? TIA..

    • @Builditbigg
      @Builditbigg  6 років тому +2

      Hi, Myro, just leave out the cocoa powder, coffee and use only 1 tablespoon vanilla extract. Do not add anymore flour than listed. I have a recipe on my cooking channel Cooking with Tovia - Vanilla Ermine

    You can also sift them together and it mixes together well

    • @Builditbigg
      @Builditbigg  6 років тому +4

      Hi, Tina, when you whisk the items together it is actually "sifting" them together. The grains from the sugar also breaks the flour and chocolate down. Using a sifter is just a headache for this and cleaning the chocolate out of the sifter is a pain too. Personally, I only use sifter when baking cakes or when it's extremely necessary. :) Thank you for watching and supporting.

    There are much easier ways to make this frosting. Like creaming the butter and sugar and then adding the cooled milk and flour mixture all at once to it and beat it until fluffy. This guy makes it look so difficult when it isn't!

      @Builditbigg  3 роки тому +4

      I’m sorry you find this so difficult. We all have our way of doing things. I shared how I was trained in school.
