New subscriber! Got this to the table for the first time and our 4-player game took 5 hours. It was definitely a “learning” game, but we all enjoyed it. Working class wiped the floor (almost lapped the rest of us!). We just failed to see it coming and had wayyyy too much infighting to change policies from highest wages, lowest taxes, and free government benefits lol
oh wow! I don't think our first play took that long but I guess in a game with a lot of table talk it could and honestly, I think that's cool. I'm fine with a game taking awhile if people are having a blast the entire time and it sounds like everyone playing with you was loving the experience!
Our first game…7 hours; One guy bailed at hour 5. The State is the least ‘interesting’, but if the player likes it, a very fun position too. It’s certainly not for everyone. You should allow for space between 9 and 10. If you don’t want ‘decimals’ then 0 - 100. Not having that space isn’t practical.
Our first game at the full four players took four hours. All plays beyond that took between 2 and 3 hours. The difficulty is there is no game mechanics that artificially restrain table talk and negotiations. So if you're group continually discusses and argues over things like the bills being passed and you don't set a timer on anything, it will take longer.
