    Have you checked about Asbestos?

      In a brick and mortar chimney? No never knew that could be a problem.

    • @tobi1321
      @tobi1321 4 роки тому +2

      You can get lung cancer from Asbestos. Extremly dangerous!!!!!!
      It is in old insulation like on top the wall of your chimney. You can send a sample of the insulation to asbestos laboratories. They tell you if there is asbestos.
      Please use ffp3 mask when sampling.

    • @peterg.8245
      @peterg.8245 4 роки тому +1

      I don’t think asbestos was used in mortar. Most commonly in pipe insulation wrapping and wall insulation.

    • @tobi1321

    In Germany, a chimney sweeper is a sign of good luck, so why would you want to get them off your back? ;-P

    • @MyPlayHouse
      @MyPlayHouse 4 роки тому +1

      Well he keeps bugging me with stuff that is not up to code... why,,, they change the code!

    • @Seegalgalguntijak
      @Seegalgalguntijak 4 роки тому +2

      @@MyPlayHouse The code is always being changed, but normally, you aren't bugged about it. For example, my flat still has an RCA only in the breaker panel for the bathroom, since it was wired up in 2002, but since 2009 or so, it's required to have an RCA for the whole apartment. Nobody even bothers to do something about it, I asked the landlords and even they were like "Oh, that's a building modification, you have to apply for that and then see whether we carry at least part of the code", so I was like "yeah, fuck off..." ;-)

    • @MyPlayHouse
      @MyPlayHouse 4 роки тому +1

      Normally the change code for everything new. Years back, they changer code that ment that wast water, and rain water had to be separated,,, it is a really good idea not to treat all the rain water. But it was easily €5-10.000 for a house to have that fixed. And to be honest,, that is a shitty way to spend your money 😕

    • @Seegalgalguntijak
      @Seegalgalguntijak 4 роки тому +1

      @@MyPlayHouse OK, yours is a clearly different system than here in Germany. When it's redone, it has to conform to the current code, but as long as it works, heck, I've even seen apartments with old style Diazed (D-Type) screw-in fuses (Edison base), as they had been used in the 60s, instead of modern circuit breakers. The electrical system hadn't been overhauled, so they were ok to stay in... (I only know a very little bit about building codes in regards to electrical installations and nothing about heating or chimney codes. I guess they may have to be certified regularly, so yeah, that may actually be the same here. Oh well, I've got central heat from some heating plant several km away, no chimney for me).

  •  4 роки тому +1

    "We're doing pretty well here", drops frame through gap which then falls 3 metres and gets wedged inside the chimney.
