    I remember those cameras. They were lots of fun to see all kinds of things down below. After 911 they were removed.

      Why in English Ordinal gematria does "Transamerica" add up to 122 like "San Francisco" and the city sits on the 122nd meridian?

    • @rr7firefly
      @rr7firefly 3 роки тому

      @@mentallyilldarkjeroid5378 Your thesis should consider that the 122nd meridian covers a lot of territory. Walnut Creek, CA is 122°03′54″W (east of SF) and Muir Woods is 122°34′15″W (westward of SF). Bolinas is 122°41′11″W. In that 122 swath you can place just about all of Berkeley, Oakland and Marin County.

      @@adorabasilwinterpock6035 I think the cameras were removed partly to prevent anyone from using them for nefarious purposes and also to keep people from coming into the building.

    In the late '70s I worked for a small tour company giving tours around the City. When driving through the Chinatown and North Beach areas, almost always there was the question about the "ears" sticking out on two sides of the Pyramid. I would (in a serious tone) tell those asking that one of the dangers of tall buildings is people jumping out windows. Since this building has sloping sides it was feared that jumpers would hit office windows on the way down, possibly crashing into an office. At the very least there would be a mess on the building. As a result, the designers put platforms so jumpers could avoid hitting the building's sides on the way down. After a few minutes of murmured surprise, I would tell the tourists that they were really elevator shafts. Yes, I'm wicked.

    They limited the zoom to 12 times cause visitors were spying on sun bathers, they cut the part where visitors were zooming in on people taking dumps in the street.
