This is one of the most interesting interviewees I've ever seen seen. Nick Cannon offers a unique perspective on of a lot of relevant issues, and is able to express himself in a way that comes off as lighthearted but profound. It's a shame they had to make the title about the most trivial topics, but unfortunately, pettiness is what gets peoples' attention.

I remember going to a club in San Diego, back around 2011 or 2012, and Nick Cannon was DJing. It wasn't a huge club. So, I was pretty close to him. I remember thinking, "This dude is a movie star, and here I am, dancing a few feet away from him, as he DJs."
The guy is multi-talented (as am I). He is extremely intelligent (I consider myself to be fairly intelligent). He's from my favorite city (San Diego), and he was married to my musical crush (Mariah Carey). My level of respect for him is through the roof.
The best way to safeguard yourself from oppression is education and skill. And once African countries become first world, African Americans will have greater leverage in the U.S.

Talking about being "oppressed" while everyone in that room is wearing nice clothes, running a radio show, and interviewing a popular black celebrity. Collective oppression no longer exists in America at a systemic level, only on an individual level where people make poor decisions. You can't sit there and tell me that in these large cities where mostly Democrats run the government and have numerous minorities appointed that it is systemic. We have laws that prohibit discrimination at the systemic level. We can try our best to persuade individuals to look past color, status, gender, and other forms of identity but the world is full of ignorant and bad individuals. The same groups that shout at cops turn around and loot businesses owned by their neighbors. The same groups that shout at BLM/SJWs go home and attack people online. Americans need to remember that what makes our country great is that we are not bound by what people tell us we are and what we can't do, but that we are free to pursue a better life for ourselves despite what obstacles may lie ahead. The path may be harder for some, but we can't change the decisions our parents and grandparents made. We can only change how we treat others and how we impact society, positively or negatively. Stop blaming a vague "system" for your problems, even if you made all of the right decisions. We live in a country that allows even the poorest individuals to have opportunities, so long as they work hard and make the best of every situation.
