In this video I show step by step how I made Darkwing Duck's Gas Gun as seen in Disney's Duck Tales! It's made from EVA foam and PVC.

It is kinda like watching let's play videos of games you have zero interest in playing yourself (psychologically it is exactly the same), and very similar to "helping" a friend do stuff by showing up and giving moral support. It is kinda like just hanging out, basically.
@@OdinMakes Personally, I do plan to eventually make your Masters of the Universe Power Sword and the Sword of Omens, but a lot of the reason I watch your videos is to see what kind of techniques you use to make stuff! I learn a lot just by watching you make stuff, even if I won't be making it myself. :)

Oh perfect! I had planned a DW costume for Halloween this year, but the jacket ended up being my big stopper. Not enough time. Next year for sure! (I have the hat done but not painted. It's amazing. I'll ruin it in paint somehow.)
Very cool! Maybe for a future project you can make Eddie Valliant's Toon Gun from Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
The gun was originally designed with that pink section to operate as a bellows. It was supposed to animate in a pump action as the gas canisters shot out. Sadly, it was only animated in one or two episodes, a detail that got lost in the rush of production. But Odin would be the guy to make it!
I seriously want that prop. Love it.
It's funny that for a moment it started to remind me of the old NES zapper. But ultimately it ended up looking like a suitably cartoony IRL version of it. It triggered my nostalgia senses, so Great job!

The best part of this video is that Odin demonstrates good trigger discipline.
For another Ducktales build, it might be cool for you to make a Gizmoduck armor and maybe a random accessory or two.

I don't think I've ever seen the show the gun comes from.
But its an interesting thing to discover on my birthday, it looks really cool, if I was older I probably would have flipped from nostalgia like I did for your thundercats sword.
Hate to call you on this Odin, but “Darkwing Duck” was his own show and story verse, long before he ever appeared in the current version of “Ducktails” despite the fact the launchpad and gizmoduck appearing in both story worlds. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darkwing_Duck

This was really cool to watch and it reminded me of the original released gas gun I still have from the 90’s darkwing duck that when the trigger was press it would make like a raving type sound and if filled like the instructions said would admit an oder
Working with a tube to begin with gives a slot for the grappling hook. Maybe just shore up the back plate with a hard plastic layer.

Not only have you made another great video and cool prop, you have made something to hang in the empty triangle of wall above the tip of the monster hunter sword.

For the grappling hook, that should be pretty easy. I don't have the time to make it, but it just goes right inside the barrel. Since you used a PVC pipe, just make the hook using a dowel or something, dremmel in a spot, and add a magnet on the side of the dowel, then cover the whole dowel in 2mm foam to cover it, and paint it so it no longer looks like wood (to look more cartoony) and a magnet inside the PVC pipe, and it'll stay in place. You can use a thin rope for the, well, rope part, and just pack it in behind the magnet area, since it's a fairly long PVC pipe, long enough for a little rope to fit inside. That should do what you want just fine.

Nice, I had the toy version as a kid. You had to put vinegar in it and it would spray it into a mist that was a little smelly. I only did that once but I was a huge fan of the show and played with it for years.
If you want more suggestions for props from animated shows/films, how about a light-up Magic Mirror from Beauty and the Beast? Or a light-up enchanted rose would be pretty cool too!
I had pitched the rose to DIY Prop Shop wayyyy back in the day... hmmm...

Now I want a duck race in World of Warcraft so I can make a Darkwing Duck transmog set for probably an Outlaw Rogue would be the best, possibly a Marksmanship Hunter. I already have made a transmog set that looks like Conker from Conker's Bad Fur Day and am using a Vulpera Outlaw Rogue to look like a squirrel, even using the frying pan weapon as my main hand.

Nice Build Odin. Recently you mentioned doing more helmets. What about a SW Tie Fighter helmet from EA's SW Squadrons? There are so many X-wing helmets out there (including your awesome Poe Dameron) but no really good tutorials/templates for the Tie. That's my suggestion. Keep making, I love your stuff.
Portal Long Fall Boots please! I've been struggling with figuring out how I'd like to attempt them. I'd love to see your take on them without using too many power tools. I can get ahold of a heat gun and I have a dremel. I just don't have anything like a table saw or anything big like that. No room for it lol. Loved this video though! Darkwing Duck was always one of my favorites as a kid!!
