Explore Peru, Bolivia and Chile. Journey from the shores of Lake Titicaca, Peru, across the world’s largest salt flat, Salar de Uyuni, in Bolivia, to Atacama, the driest desert in the world, in Chile on this 10 day signature salt flats trip. This region hosts some of South America’s most striking vistas.
From the shores of Lake Titicaca, where you will witness the floating reed islands, an ancient Pachamama ceremony and learn about the indigenous cultures by visiting several islands, you then cross the border into Bolivia. Enroute to La Paz there stops to visit Aramu Muru and view the 'dimensional door', and pre Incan ruins like Tiwanaku. Time in La Paz, with its spectacular setting in a deep bowl surrounded by snow-capped mountains, will see you exploring the local streets, churches, markets and the incredible Moon Valley.
From La Paz, fly to Uyuni, where you will spend the next few days exploring the famous Uyuni Salt Flats. This vast salt desert has a landscape that is unforgettable, stark yet awe-inspiring, a dazzling white that stretches to the horizon, interspersed with geysers and coloured mineral lagoons.
Another border crossing, and you are in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, the perfect town from which to explore the Atacama Desert, the driest desert in the world! Look for flamingoes, soak in hot springs, watch geysers bubble. explore desert landscapes and gaze at the magical night sky!
The hardest thing will be deciding to go - the rainy season, to witness remarkable reflections on the salt flats, or the dry season, to witness dazzling white salt landscapes as far as the eye can see!
